“We had a great meal here! My partner ordered the island poke bowl, combo rice/lettuce and combo tuna/salmon. It was really good and fresh. Next time would order with just rice as the lettuce got a bit soggy. The star of the show was the cheesesteak with added cherry peppers for heat. It was gooey, meaty, right amount of heat. And the roll it comes on is divine. Working on finding out where to buy them myself.“

It came with:

1. A generous amount of broccoli, so the noodles had adult supervision
2. Bok choy! Actual leafy greens voluntarily attending dinner

The most surprising dish for me was the radish cake salad - I couldn't stop raving about it all night. The portion sizes are large and we brought home a lot of leftovers.“

We’ve been ordering from Hawking Bird for the last year - it’s our go-to spot for delicious fried chicken and flavorful garlic noodles. Our standard order: the Tanya Special. This ingenious dish focused on my favorite Hawking Bird offerings with none of the fluff. Imagine my disappointment when I learned this special was removed from the menu! Yes, you can alter the fried chicken bowl (sub noodles, remove the cucumber/cilantro/mint) but Tanya was generous, providing a larger portion size that cannot be recreated. Times are tough, and Miss Tanya provided some relief.

My loyalty to Hawking Bird has not wavered, I’m placing an order right now - but please consider bringing this special back!“

“I went here over the weekend on a Saturday around 12:30pm and there was a good amount of people dining there at the time, but no wait. They have a bunch of large tables inside this restaurant and they sell a large variety of brunch and Asian fusion breakfast items!

Anyways, we got the Iced Butterfly Lychee Fizz, Thai Milk Tea, Vietnamese Dalgona Coffee, Orange Mimosa, Banana French Toast Combo, Spicy Bacon Benedict, Fried Chicken & Waffle, and the Bo Luc Lac. Out of the items we tried, the Iced Butterfly Lychee Fizz was my favorite drink because of how pretty and refreshing it was, while the Spicy Bacon Benedict was my favorite entree since it wasn’t too messy.

I’d recommend this place! I loved everything I tried that day and I like how large the portion sizes here are too!“

But, we had a great time catching up. The place is open till 1am so good for us to meet post work, some traveling from as far as Cupertino to catch-up with friends.“

I don't understand the extreme minimalist decor/ambiance. Certainly it forces a focus on the food, but it seems like the decor could be a bit more elegant and matched to the cuisine. “Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall good tasting food, we’d come back for the char siu. The restaurant was very smokey, and it stuck to my body and clothes all day after. So I would not come here before going anywhere important, so you’ll smell of bbq.“

I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

The signature beef dish looked delicious and very decadent but at over $80 and piled high with cheese and toppings, it serves 4 and it’s not my jam. Go if you just want a lot of food generally pretty inexpensive. It’s like $25 a person and tasty, just too unhealthy and casual for me.“

The wings are the best in the Bay, we always have the Hamachi spoons and there is a different bread pudding every month. They have a good Aooni IPA and the sake selection is wonderful.
