“Last day of my holiday we had lunch at Saucy Oakland - and we thought it was very, very good! So you can't say much about the service, because you order at the counter and pick up the food at the counter. But both of our dishes were freshly prepared, were normal portions to fill you up and tasted excellent. The sake flight was also great to try out the different sakes. We were happy not to have stopped a few blocks away at Swans Market and chosen Saucy instead! Best recommendation!“
“Best Thai food in the Bay Area. The Khao Soi soup is an explosion of flavor and so delicious. The way they package it to go, your soup and chicken stay hot and your crispy bits stay crispy it's magical. Every time family visits me here, I order from here. The staff is also incredible. I will continue to frequent this place regularly until I leave the Bay.“
“Wow this place is insanely good I actually feel compelled to leave a review. The roti is perfectly and flavorful, the dipping sauces and root curry was spiced just right and flavor level. The service was fantastic, above and beyond for casual dining. Nothing was too oily for my liking. The music and ambiance was super chill. Definitely a hidden gem not to be missed.“
“I can honestly say if you go here you will not at all regret it! The atmosphere is super nice, the staff is amazing, and the food! The food was absolutely amazing and between the 3 of us we ordered way too much but everything was delicious, definitely worth the trip!“
“We have now been here several times. This the perfect 1/2 way point between picking my son and going home. It is across from the Coast Guard Island. The location is safe. Plenty of parking. We come for the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue and friendly service. Everything is great! Especially when the mother-in-law makes a surprise visit and cooks up her specialty pansit (not on the menu). Everything is fresh and cooked (and barbecued) with love. I think we’ve tried everything now. My favorite is toss between the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue Banh Mi sandwich and “THANK QUE” chicken bowl. There are a few tables inside and when the weather is nice, plenty of seating outside. I look forward to hearing live music in the future out there.Parking: Parking is shared with the charter school during weekday school hours. Take notice of parents, zooming in/out of their designated entrance and exit at the end of the school day!“
“We ordered the spicy chicken wings, the fried fish and a noodle dish. All were very good. My only complaint was that the fish didn't have more meat on it, since we were sharing. But for one person it would be fine. Very friendly service and a nice atmosphere as wellParking: We went during the super bowl so it was relatively easy to find street parking, but it would be difficult on a normal night“
“Hands down one of the best Indian pizzas I've ever had. We ordered the Spicy Bread, Chicken Pizza Masala & Mango Monsoon. I felt like I couldn't eat it fast enough! Definitely worth the food coma. Ty for the good vibes and delicious noms ??“
“5 Spiced Kitchen is conveniently located in Montclair and the food is delicious! Our party of six enjoyed our shared entrees which included seafood, beef, potstickers and veggie spring rolls. 5SK has a full bar as well. Prices were a bit high- I'd say $$$ on a scale of 1-4. However, we will go back and enjoy again!“
“Clean modern atmosphere Tofu vegetarian optionsGood healthy optionsOrder Mexican oriented dishes like burritos and tacos and they're delicious. I had ordered a Veggie Bowl and was disappointed with the lack of flavor and freshness. Service was prompt and courteous. We will return again.“
“The food is tasty and spicy, which I like, I ordered the Mongolian beef. It wasn't clear or stated on the order platform that this was just the Mongolian Beef. Apparently it does not come with rice which is very disappointing. It should be clear on the order app that this doesn't come with rice. This is first time I didn't get rice with my Chinese meal.“
“As a Korean person, I love this place. The menu is small but everything is amazing! The half and half noodles are my favorite, best of both worlds! The Tang-Soo-Yuk and friend chicken is always made fresh, so it takes some time, but totally worth the wait. The honey and cheese fried chicken is so delicious that we order 2 and take 1 of them home. Reheats in the air fryer perfectly!!“
“I'm not even kidding when I say the chicken on the BBQ chicken sandwich is the best chicken I've ever had on a sandwich ever. It was so juicy and the sandwich was incredible. I cannot wait to come back. I cannot recommend highly enough!“
“This Quickly in Oakland chinatown is the closest one to me. I don't go there that often, but when I do, I buy some milk tea and snacks for me and my family. The owner is very nice. There are lots of drink options and snack options to choose from. I wish they were closer so I could go there more often.“
“First time, it was a great experience. The brightness of the business color was cool as I rode past They had the garage doors open and I noticed they have a nice long bar in the back area of the place. I parked and walked in to see the huge bright menu. They must known I was blind lol ? but I never been in and stood there hungry and intimidated by this cool big menu that sounds so great when you're hungry, everything sounded good, until a few orders came out and the gentleman nicely explained what they were and I got the rice bowl with the pork, with fried egg was fire ? it just enough to satisfy my appetite and I didn't need to take anything home. It was just enough, very tasty with the little interesting salad. I don't know what it was, but it was damn good, check my pictures.“
“I recently visited United Dumplings in Oakland this past weekend and I can confidently say that it was a great dining experiences. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm smiles and efficient service. The restaurant itself is modern and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a casual lunch or dinner. The dumplings were incredible. Each one bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The menu offers a variety of options, from classic steamed pork dumplings to more unique options. But the dumplings are not the only star of the show. The other dishes we tried were equally impressive. The beef noodle soup was rich and hearty, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the service at United Dumplings was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to suggest dishes and offer recommendations, making our dining experience even better.“
“stumbled across this place one night looking for a quick bite and ended up spending the entire night there instead of our original plans and loved it so much, we went back a week later and are going to book the upstairs venue for my partners bday next month!Where do i even begin! the community kitchen concept is inspiring and revolutionary and i’ve seen them feed people who are unable to afford their meals multiple times as well as customers paying more than suggested on their sliding scale menu to cover the cost of others. it’s such a beautiful and noble form of mutual aid and i really hope it’s successful!Dora at the counter took such good care of us and the food was DELISH! the level of care and service and the love the food is made with makes you feel like you’re eating a home cooked meal. Dora’s energy was so infectious and bright and she ended up preparing us tofu and mushroom adobo and a dino nugget bowl with an egg and rice that i’m still thinking about. the second time we went, the menu had changed and i can’t recommend the coco mojo potatoes and birthday cake bibingka any more highly! the only downside is they’ve been out of the lumpia both times i’ve gone and i’m dying to try it! GREAT vegan and vegetarian options but proportions aren’t the biggest so order one of everything! If you haven’t been to an event at the speakeasy-style Baba’s House, you’re missing out on one of the most unique cozy-night-OUT experiences in the east bay. the living room-esque lounge and majong den has the charm of a house party with the excitement of a venue. We ended up wandering into an open jam sesh with local musicians halfway through the night, my partner couldn’t help but join them. the walls are lined in yummy asian snacks and there’s a big fridge full of beverages with some of the best non-alcoholic options i’ve seen + beer, wine, and a bar for cocktails. It’s so fun to cozy up on the couch and experience live music 6 ft in front of you and a sensory HEAVEN of ambient lighting. The owners Jenn and Alan are so welcoming and make perfect hosts for the various events that happen in the space. while the space upstairs is not ada accessible, they helped carry my partners wheelchair up and down the stairs which was very kind.We can’t wait to attend many more ever and in the space and throw our own event there next month!Vegetarian options: half the menu is vegetarian/vegan!“
“Stopped in for lunch at noon on a Tuesday. I was surprised I was the only one in the restaurant. I sat at the sushi bar. Kenny my waiter was very friendly. He brought the menus and a large bottle of iced water. He told me to take my time and let him know when I was ready to order. They had both their regular menu and a lunch special menu. I chose the Warrior Roll which Kenny stated that was his favorite. I watched the Chef carefully make my roll and torch the Salmon. The roll was large and very tasty. I would recommend this roll.Menu pricing was a little high on the entrees and bento boxes compared to other high quality sushi establishments. Pricing on the rolls were comparable to other establishments..“
“Been coming to this place ever since i was 5 years old ! It been 25 years and even though i do not live here anymore i always try to make a stop. My personal fav love the bell pepper beef. They dont take debit card so make sure to get cash. This place brings so much family memories of me and my parents eating or getting to go every sunday. I love that they are afforable and decent portions and the taste and quality off the food is amazing. They are super nice we made a order super late did not know they were gonna close and the guys said it was okay that he will wait. Best chinese food in the area.“
“Walked in on a Friday night wanting to check out the upstairs gallery... followed a neon sign vaguely pointing upstairs next to a sign that said employees only, unsure if we were about to walk into something we shouldn't, and ascended the stairs. Turned the corner and saw a whole group of friends singing karaoke filling the small upstairs room. Still weren't sure if we were supposed to be there but the owner quickly greeted us warmly and welcomed us to the space! It's gorgeous! Full of neon and moody lights, there's a mahjong room, art on the walls, and a huge variety of unique Asian snacks and candy and BEER!!! The drink selection was incredible. I can't wait to go back and try way too many. Really does feel like a happy welcoming loving room stocked with snacks. Snagged one of the BKriskies on the way out as well and it was divine- kind of a brown buttery sweet but still savory treat. So good. I'll be back soon! 3rd Saturday is mahjong night and apparently they'll teach you! Also karaoke is anytime you request haha. Follow them on insta for events. Thank you for the hospitality!!!“
“My bf and I made a pit stop here during date night in Temescal. The surrounding area is a very fun place to walk around and Burma is right next to North Star; they have a joint patio area right outside which makes it perfect for casual dining. We got the Platha & Dip which tasted amazing. The chicken was soft and tender and the Platha has such a unique texture that went great with the curry dip. The service was very quick.“
“Stopped by here for lunch and they did not disappoint. Best hamachi sashimi I've ever had! Also got some salmon sashimi that was wonderful. Ordered a Titanic roll which was great. Shanghai soup dumplings were okay but a little sweet for my liking. Rainbow roll and the ruby fat roll were pretty good as well. Overall awesome visit and would absolutely go again.“
“Cloudy Friday with a few missions accomplished in Oakland/Alameda Homedepot, we (my fiat and I) were slowly rolling out the main entrances. I was avoiding eye contacts with the Hispanic bros who are waiting for work in the front. Not now but good to know that you guys are around... I think... Wait! I see pho and 10.95 and where?!!! Tasty Bowl! and 10 minutes later, I'm sitting down waiting for P1 (pho combo) for $10.95. Not a scam... yet.... (btw, BBH no pig feet $13.95, with pig feet $17.95, I was amused by the flexibility they think this can be....: )) It's piping hot and a hearty bowl of pho. Not huge not small and just right, though it's hard to fish out the thin sliced stick meat. But there are quite few big pieces of briskets and even with some long time boil neck meats. Garnishments are quite fresh as well. Is it because they are next the very famous Pho King that they need to work extra harder? Regardless, if you take the trouble to post a sign outside of H.D. and I see it, I'm sold. Probably no one would disagree with me that the amount of effort and energy you need to keep the business running, safe, competitive, profitable (another 100 words later), you need more than 10 miles of work and imagination. Plus, have you ever seen any restaurants have their original price crossed out with a discounted price? I've never. They exactly remind me of the ppl in Vietnam, creative and survival oriented. This is why they caught another immigrant like me. Only suggestion is to clean the table and siracha bottle better. They are kind of greasy. Sometimes cleanness is the first thing to propel ppl. It doesn't take much to correct it. Slowly rolling out of the mall now...“
“Sobo Ramen has a 2 for 1 Happy Hour from 5pm-7pm Mon-Fri. Everybody wins!I just got the email announcing the offer and ate their again last night. I've eaten and ordered take out from Sobo at least 20 times. Since I like it spicy, I get the Black Garlic Tonkatsu which has this little pool of delicious black garlic oil floating on top. Its all so rich and satisfying. This is definitely my favorite Ramen place in the entire bay area.“
“My niece told me about this place. I came two days in a row because the food was sooooooo good. My first time here I orderd the Jjapaguri, omg the taste sensation was amazing. The noodles, fried egg, and millionaire bacon made it all come together. The coconut cream latte brought the whole experience together. My second day at Kitchen Story I ordered the Tornado Galbi Omurice and the iced Cinnamon latte, the best decision. It was delicious. The servers gave me the recommendations for both dishes so I am grateful for the advice. The only thing that is hard for me is the no room and you are so close to other people and hear evey conversation. However, I am just a private person and I like my space. Every one does not feel like that.“
“This is my go to spot before/after every time my family flies out of OAK or is picking someone up from there. My kids love the gyoza, chicken karage, and bibimbap. I love all the meats! I signed up for the Gyu Kaku rewards program and always get a free item whether it’s an order of smores or meat, or the best one is 25% off up to $25. For three adults and two kids, we can have a dinner with appetizers, salad, and everyone wishing they wore elastic waistband pants for around $130. Super great value considering the quality of the food and meats! The service is always speedy and the staff are very nice. We park in the lot across the street for about $5-10 flat and have never felt unsafe in the area (even with my 9 and 5 year old in tow). Reservations are always easy and many walk in without them and are seated promptly. Great job Oakland Gyu Kaku!“
“We ordered delivery from Doordash and enjoyed it. We tend to order low carb high protein meals that we can reheat for the next few days and we didn't feel the greens bowls suffered from a light reheating in the microwave. There are cheaper options than Umami Express but we liked that we could get double the proteins and even side orders of the proteins, and the meat was really tasty. Will definitely order again:Chicken greens bowl -- especially with added avocado. The chicken is really moist and flavorful. My partner liked all the tastes in the protein lover's bowlMight not order again:The wagyu beef is definitely over seasoned, though I loved the texture -- not as good as the chicken but I was happy to have a beef option I wasn't super fond of the tofu because it has an ordinary texture and the seasoning was too heavy on paprika for my taste. My partner liked it. I usually like water chestnuts and pickled onions but neither of them added much to my enjoyment of the bowls so I will probably leave them out next timeI haven't figured out which of the two sauces I tried (lemon garlic soy sauce or garlic sesame soy sauce) was the one I preferred because I got them mixed up, but I think it was the garlic sesame because it was creamy and tasted of tahini. Overall a nice addition to our healthy takeout list!“
“I've been looking for a good dumplings place near home and I found it! The dumplings were flavorful and juicy. Took a friend from Hawaii there for her favorite food- Shanghai soup Dumplings. She loved it! Even my picky 100 year old Godmother gave it the thumbs up. We tried other dishes too: salt and pepper wings and tomato chow mein with tofu ( will skip the tofu next time - tasteless). Will be back to try the other dumplings.“
“Make sure you check the website for their current location. Yelp's location is inaccurate. They are currently popped up next to Wondrous Brewing in Emeryville. My gf was at the brewery with her coworkers and brought some garlic noodles home. I was amazed with the crispy garlic noodles and the chili oil flavor I ate the whole thing before I even realized. The texture of the noodles is as if you were to eat instant noodles straight from the bag, nice and crunchy, with the flavor of spicy garlic noodles. I went on their website to find their menu so I can go buy more things.I got their garlic noodles again and also got their kimchi and bacon fried rice. Next time I'll get it in burrito form because why not? It sounds intriguing. But the fried rice was honestly only ok. It was average tasting. I will consistently go back for their garlic noodles and I will try more things from the menu. Great pop up find, wish them more business, cannot say this enough, I love the garlic noodles.“
“Came here for a christmas dinner. We did make reservations ahead of time given the holiday. We arrived a few minutes early, but they were able to accommodate us gracefully given the calendar. The ambiance of a low key, quiet holiday was exactly what we were looking for! The tapas came out nice and hot, very tasty! The meal was staggered with enough time to enjoy each morsel. And we even had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Now, the true test of takeaway, the food was still heckin tasty on day two! 12 out of 10, I would recommend this place! (In fact, i already wrote home about it!)“
“This place is definitely my favorite places to go get sushi. I've been ordering here several times and I try to sample different rolls each time and so far I haven't had a missed yet. The fish is fresh, each roll tastes unique and isn't overly drenched in sauce. Highly recommend this sushi place.“
“My go to meal from order boneless chicken wings with Hot & Sweet sauce and a side of steamed rice. I have also had the Azit Fried Rice. The Food:AMAZING. I am from LA and frequent K-Fried Chicken joints all around Los Angeles (K-Town and beyond). This spot is up there with their fried chicken. Crispy large pieces. Perfectly seasoned… not too spicy not too sweet. Great quality. The recipe is beyond good and the cooks blow it out of the water! Their menu is very diverse in terms of street food. I just like to stick to what I know. When I am craving K-fried chicken this is my go to in the East Bay.Service:Attentive, respectful, doing a good job. Sat me quickly, took my order quickly. Food took a little bit but they were busy with online/to go orders. Checked on e while I was eating. Helped me wrap up after I was done. They were efficient and that’s all I ask for when working in the service industry. No one owes me their kindness, regardless of whether I am paying. They were cool. That’s it.Atmosphere:The art on the walls is great! Nice size when not too crowded. Can get really overwhelming when it is busy (duh). Lighting is club-y but fun. Now to the noise level… it is loud. But this has been my experience with most late night street food joints. It doesn’t bother me at all but if you have a sensory sensitivity get your food to go for sure. I like that there is K-pop playing in the restaurant and Bachata in the open kitchen. That’s how I know my food will be gooooood. And it’s for the culture! I took off 1 star from the category bc it really is not accessible for people with sensory sensitivities. Clean, no bad odors.A Note About the Neighborhood: it’s Oakland. It’s Temescal. It’s very hip and a cool area. It is very diverse ethnically. Like all of The Town, there is a car break-in issue and homelessness is dire. THIS DOES NOT MAKE IT A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD. As always, be aware of where you are. And don’t blame humans for systemic problems.Ok. Enough ranting.Highly recommend Azit! As far as I can tell… Azit is a great place to Eat!“
“This was my first time coming to this location. My daughter suggested that I get the Popcorn Chicken seeing that I'm not that adventurous with food. I did and asked for my Chicken to be cooked a certain way. There was some hesitation and my request had to go up the chain of command to be fulfilled. I had also ordered their Shrimp and some egg rolls. A green tea came complementary with my meal and it was very tasty. My overall experience was ok. The food was just OKAY.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available.Parking: Parking is often difficult to find in that area.“
“With a flavorful array of meat and fish dishes, this near institutional Cambodian restaurant in Oakland dishes out a very satisfying meal.638. TREI CHAP CHEAN TURK CHHOU-AIM, a crispy-fried whole Pompano fish topped with sweet-and-salty stir-fried ground pork: good mixed with good to create yum!426. LEMONGRASS PORK RIBS, perfectly charbroiled with fragrant spices.109. SPICY PAPAYA SALAD, crisp and crunchy, a refreshing accompaniment to the richness in dishes. An excellent option for Southeast Asian in East Bay, where the standard is already set very high.“
