“Bua Luang is hands down the BEST Thai restaurant in the entire Bay Area, not just in Albany! I have been enjoying Thai cuisine all around the Bay for over 25 years. My family and I have Thai food at least 2-3 times a week, so we have tried many (and I mean MANY) Thai restaurants over the decades, and without a doubt we all agree that Bua Luang offers the freshest, tastiest, and most delicately prepared Thai cuisine of all. Every dish is packed with the freshest ingredients. The flavors and textures are amazing. Restaurants in Thailand don’t make a Pad Thai as delicious as the Pad Thai at Bua Luang—believe us, we have tried Pad Thai all over Thailand and we still longed for the Pad Thai at Bua Luang. The chef at this restaurant is a culinary master!
Not only are the dishes at this restaurant superb, the atmosphere is serene and delightful. The indoor space is clean, cozy, and modern with soft old-world touches and whimsical lighting. The ambiance music is very pleasant. It’s not too loud, and it’s easy to talk with and hear others in your party. If you choose to dine outside, you are greeted by the most beautiful outdoor seating area on all of Solano Avenue. The space is gorgeous and inviting. And then there is the staff: always friendly and attentive. They provide a truly exceptional dining experience all around.
This restaurant is an absolute gem. If I could give it more stars I would. Don’t walk, run to this spot!“

“I recently visited Tycoon Kitchen and had a very enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with a modern and comfortable setting that is perfect for both casual meals and gatherings with friends or family. The staff was courteous, attentive, and quick to assist with any questions about the menu.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The menu features a good variety of dishes, allowing everyone to find something they enjoy. I especially appreciated the quality of the ingredients and the attention to presentation. Portions were satisfying, and everything arrived promptly.
The restaurant was clean, well maintained, and provided a pleasant dining environment from start to finish. Combined with the excellent service and consistently good food, it made for a memorable visit. I would definitely return and recommend Tycoon Kitchen to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable dining experience.“

“The food was a great mix of Latin and Cantonese flavors. It brought back many childhood memories of Chinese food in Northern Mexico while growing up. The owner was extremely warm and welcoming in sharing her cuisine that is from her home and heart.“

“I tried the wraps from a work event and realized I needed to stop in and check it out.
I love the atmosphere, the individuals inside are kind and knowledgeable, great recommendations from them all.
I will be back to enjoy the view as well, please tip the staff!“

“We started with the Luo Buo Gao (turnip cake) chop salad and the shoyu ogo pickles. The crispy turnip cake was the standout here. Honestly, crispy turnip cake in a salad should replace croutons everywhere. It adds so much more texture and flavor.
For the mains, we ordered the pork cutlet sando, ginger scallion cheese bread, and crispy pork belly. While everything was solid, the crispy pork belly easily stole the show. Whatever seasoning they used on the skin was absolutely addictive. It had the perfect crunch and kept me going back for another bite.
To finish, we shared the breakfast sundae, which was a fun and creative dessert that fit perfectly with the restaurant’s playful approach to familiar flavors.
Overall, Piglet & Co. is worth visiting for its unique takes on classic dishes and creative Taiwanese-inspired menu. My only gripe is the price point relative to the portion sizes. The food is delicious, but you may find yourself wishing there was just a little more on the plate.“

“I enjoyed it! The food was fast and filling. Not bad for price. The atmosphere created here was cozy. It’s a little small but it’s alright. It’s nice how formal the staff is—effort to hold the standard of the culture is there but my waitress was a little new and gave me a pack of chopsticks with only one inside lol“

“This place was great! Our table shared the pork xiao long bao, crispy dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and cucumber salad. Everything tasted delicious. We had a bit of a wait outside the restaurant along with other groups and the restaurant was pretty much full, so I suspect it’s usually busy!“

“Peacock pansy has sumptuous Asian fusion.
We had the banhmi and the chicken and waffle. The banhmi was ok. I preferred the chicken and waffle which was quite nice. For great Asian brunch my go-to place is kan kin in daily city.
Service was friendly. The place has a nice ambience and good vibes.
Will probably be back.“

“I ordered the spicy bibimbap bowl and a hazy IPA. By far the best value spot in the area, and delicious! Service was quick, and overall I definitely recommend this spot for the hearty bowls and the hazy IPA was also great! One thing to note: there's not much indoor eating seating, but there is plenty of outside seating.“

“Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall good tasting food, we’d come back for the char siu. The restaurant was very smokey, and it stuck to my body and clothes all day after. So I would not come here before going anywhere important, so you’ll smell of bbq.“

“I had a great experience at Trisara. The food was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the lamb korma, garlic naan, and samosa, and everything was delicious and well prepared.
The service was also good. It was a bit slow at times, but I visited during a busy period, so it was understandable. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely return.“

“I saw the ratings and didn't know what to expect. Brought my family here to avoid the Berkely Parents' Weekend crowds. I was so pleasantly surprised the quality of the food and service. The roti is so fresh - perfectly crispy and chewy. The spices on the food and house coconut dipping sauce offered so much flavor - we were all blown away. Our kids loved the Thai Tea. Accomodates vegan taste buds and all other dietary preferences.“

“Such great food and people. We were hungry driving around looking for that magical parking spot next to an acceptable eating spot bingo! We found it all at Gai. Unsure of what kinda of cuisine I said take the chance they’ve got a chicken on the sign so it’s actually food. And boy was it good. Delicious. Freshly prepared Asian Thai or Vietnamese food. I got the Original Chicken Rice bowl with side of broccali. My friend got the salad with Tofu. Both great. He sauces are fresh and flavorful. One is quite hot which I love. I recommend it. And as we sat there from 1:30 pm to 2:30, there were multiple to go orders being picked up. I think there were about 5 orders at a time rotating. Fresh Fast Full of Flavor. We hit the jackpot!“

“Has gluten free soup and the galbi Jjim. The galbi Jjim was filling, and mostly casava, noodles and sauce. Had a good amount of rib meat though. Service was great despite being packed. Only complaint is the amount of cheese - way too much, and I had to remove it to even taste the meats, even though I asked for less cheese. The side dishes were standard for Korean but still decent.“

“Steve went out of his way to answer a question concerning the food selection choices.
Internet google search showed this SF location maybe close because of the Memorial Day Holiday, but took a chance to walk down from Chinatown and was pleasantly surprised.
Bought meals for the day for myself and sister.
Thanks SF, Kearney St - Onigilly“

“The decor was festive and abundant in the best way possible, and the cocktails looked unique and curiosity-piquing. I narrowed my choices down to a Cafe Sua Daddy and the Soy Sauce Old Fashioned.
I love a savory drink and the sweet caffeinated espresso martini-esque drink had a thick blanket of just-salty-enough foam reminiscent of the salt cream that tops a boba drink. The Soy Sauce Old Fashioned catapulted me back to my childhood, eating slabs of tofu drenched in shoyu at my grandma's house. I loved the custom soy bottle presentation, it was just strong enough to tolerate being poured over a large rock while maintaining its flavor.
My partner had the Umami Tots and Mapo Tofu. I couldn't resist the siren song of some crispy potatoes dunked in chili oil cream, but managed to hold myself back on the tofu- even though it smelled amazing.
Can't wait to return and try the new seasonal drinks, along with more snacks.“

“Some of the top dishes were the small delicacies goose barnacles (more because of their rarity; the taste was a bit chewy but still interesting), bread, and soft shell crab; pheasant; charcoal-grilled black pork; double-boiled quail soup; and almond feather cake. Really nice pairings. Exquisitely timed service. Some of my less favorite dishes included the caviar-stuffed tomato small delicacy (more just because I'm not always a tomato fan), abalone (again, not necessarily due to its quality, but I'm not a fan of its chewy firm texture), quail (maybe I was full by the time of this dish, but I just didn't find it all that seasoned or appetizing except the soup version). I don't understand the extreme minimalist decor/ambiance. Certainly it forces a focus on the food, but it seems like the decor could be a bit more elegant and matched to the cuisine. Overall, I had to give it a 5/5 due to the service and unique tastings! Thank you Benu!“

“Tigon is excellent, above par, a hidden gem on San Pablo. I've probably been here 5-6 times now with my fiance. She gets the same thing every time: Catfish Sweet and Sour Soup and she swears it gets better every single time. On the other hand, I try something new every time because each dish I've had has been better than the last. Catfish Claypot, Pho, and Papaya Salad are all big hitters.“

“Service and food were phenomenal! Our group was blown away by both the food and especially the service from our server/host Yun Kim! Some of our favorites really enjoyed the soy garlic wings which were crispy and crunchy, potato pancake and the Galbi steak. 10/10 would recommend! Definitely planning to go back in the future.“
“My friend and I came here and ate at the counter downstairs. I really enjoyed the Filipino fusion plate we got. It was delicious and tasted like I was at my auntie’s house, but with an elevated twist.
We then took our drinks and went upstairs. We played games that were available and then listened to folks sing karaoke. We works up the nerve to sing ourselves.
It looked like there was an extra room for private parties.
Very welcoming vibes. Everyone was friendly. Most fun I had in Oakland in awhile. Would def come back! Maybe I’ll learn mahjong next time.“

“They have individual cooking pots so that each person can get their own broth to cook in which is great when your party likes different spice levels. They provide a good variety of vegetables and mushrooms and choices for sides including vegetables and traditional Chinese hotpot meats like tripe. The pumpkin worked really well.
The steaks were fresh and very thin so easy to cook. The wagu was very fatty, but the menu did say 40% fat. The chuck was perfect to american tastes.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“While they're known for their matcha smoothies, they also have some great food options such as their pork belly rice and their croffle sandwiches.
Note that the food can take a while to make as most people order drinks, but it is prepared with much care.
There are a few dining tables inside, but there are also picnic benches outside. Ordering is done on a kiosk and they provide trays for the compostable tableware.“

“I got the smoothie, a side of steamed veggies and a tofu bowl and not only were all three clearly made with high quality, organic ingredients, but they were absolutely delicious. 10/10. But what impressed me even more than the food tonight was the thoughtfulness of the gentleman working. They closed at 11:30 pm (bless them for being the only vegan, organic food in the area open that late) and was cutting it close to get there before closing time. When I arrived 1 or 2 minutes after 11:30, I was worried that I had missed my opportunity and screwed up, but no - a thoughtful young man was literally standing in front of the restaurant with my order, waiting for me. He definitely didn’t have to do that - service is way above and beyond - 20/10! That wonderful young man saved me after I hadn’t eaten all day and couldn’t find anything vegan open late, I’m so grateful. <3
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and organic to boot!
Dietary restrictions: Tons of amazing gluten free, vegan, organic options.“

“Easily one of my favorite restaurants to go to. The chef and staff are always so friendly and warm.
Can never go wrong with Hamachi spoons as a starter, excellent every time. Even better at happy hour when they're $4 each.
My go to is the Shaken beef entree. Dee. Lish. Us.
There's a reason the restaurant is called Saucy. The sauces are top notch. I've come through when they're busy and when they're slow and the quality doesn't change. They're always welcoming and provide excellent service.“
“This was my first time ordering food to pickup from this digital food court place in Emeryville.. a bit odd but easy and straight forward.
And man oh man was Lotus and Lime a very pleasant surprise at midnight on a Friday!
This food was amazing! Absolutely far exceeded my expectations for a late night eat.. honestly felt like I was eating gourmet at fast food prices.
The wagyu beef is mouth watering delicious 🤤
There was a nice little personalized note imparting appreciation and love from the kitchen which after receiving my freshly prepared food from a digital locker was a very nice piece of human connection. 10/10 will definitely be back for more🌟“

“Had a delicious meal here with a large group. The restaurant was gracious about seating our party of 7 (we were also running late) and the starters and tea we ordered came quickly. We ordered cilantro tofu salad, basil curry potatoes, veggie pot stickers; lemongrass eggplant with mushroom balls and tofu; peipa tofu clay pot; peanut beef; mapo tofu; a sichuanese soup; and dry braised string beans. Of these my favorites were the potstickers, eggplant with mushroom balls, and string beans. (Everything was good but the mapo tofu and peanut beef leaned sweeter and I prefer more of a savory and mala profile). Would recommend this especially to anybody with a group who is looking to try a lot of dishes - it’s great for family style!“
