Napkins, ketchup and mustard on the table. Stools at a counter. Food is exactly what you want. Great, tasty burger. Fries and onion rings were perfect. Friendly staff. “I had the grill chicken and Cajun fries. I really liked them. Sandwich was Juicy and very flavorful. Since I don't eat beef or pork this was a great option at a burger joint. My daughter had the onion rings and wings and she like them both. The wife had the Spanish beef burger and she loved the flavor and spice. Son had the smash burger, he always eats burgers when we go out. We call him burger boy because he eats them so much. He said it was average. He said Johnny boy smash burger was a bit better. He had that the day before. The girls love that there was boba. I loved that there was beer on tap! I was going to say there's nothing negative to say about this place. But then I thought about it for a second. They charged us $1 for some ranch. Even though we ordered chicken wings, onion rings, garlic fries, french fries, cajun fries. Should have came with the order!“

“I love this place & so glad I found it. The burgers are always substantial & always consistent. I eat a Spicy Sly about 3x a week. The service is always amazing.

One time, I arrived to pick up my order & the guy at the register realized the cook had forgotten to include my fries. They started making them & told me it would be about 5 minutes. I really wasn’t worried about it at all but they were so kind & apologetic. I didn’t have to wait too long & once they had the order completed, they gave me a free coke for the trouble. Even though, again, I really wasn’t tripping about it at all, the attention to the customer & service is amazing. I love this place & the staff.“

“Note of appreciation to say that Hi-Way is the only burger place I've tried that not only offers a Beyond burger, but also clearly puts as much care into the veggie burger as the meat burger. Just as they seem to do with the meat patties (my partner enjoyed the cheeseburger), they smashed the patty so it was thin, crispy, juicy, and delicious, sesame bun was amazing, and all of the toppings were fresh and generously portioned (added fresh peppers, pickles, and onion were awesome with it). “I received very friendly, efficient service from start to finish. I ordered myself a big breakfast meal, basically two servings worth, and received everything I asked for. “Favorite burger joint in SF. The guys working there are super chill and welcoming, and it's got a cozy atmosphere. The burgers themselves, namely the piggy jack for me, are spectacular, especially for the low price they sell them at. They're open late and well within stumbling distance from any of the other haunts nearby.“

“OG Burger on Solano is absolutely worth the stop. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what he would order for himself, and he recommended the double bulgogi burger. I told him to make it the way he would for himself, and it came out dialed in.

What stood out is that it was not a standard American smashburger. Instead of the usual profile, it leaned into Korean fusion flavors. The bulgogi added a deep, savory sweetness that worked perfectly with the crispy smashed patties. It felt intentional and different in a good way.

He gave me a light sauce on the side that paired extremely well. I did not catch the name, but it had a vinaigrette style tang that balanced the richness of the meat and brought everything together.

I also ordered the loaded fries, and they were just as strong. As far as smashburger spots go, this one separates itself by doing something different and doing it well. I would definitely have it again.“
