“We had dinner there tonight (3/14/24) for the first time and we will be back. Two of the most interesting and truly delicious sandwiches we have ever eaten. I can't remember what mine was called, but it had chicken (roasted perfectly), sauerkraut, cheese and other awesome stuff on a grilled rye bread that was excellent. My bride had the turkey sandwich and loved it. But the star of the show were the Tater Tots. Perfectly crisp with BBQ sauce to dip them in and then into some wonderful real bacon bits. Every tot stayed crisp from the first to the last. The meal was worth every penny and more. Get into the Alameda location and try it. You won't be sorry. PS: The only bad part for me is that we live in Seattle and won't be back down until May. But you can bet I will be eating here then.“

“First off this has been at this location for years and it’s definitely time for some of the booth back cushions to be replaced. I went here for breakfast on 11/2/24 and our waitress Carla was absolutely awesome. I think the location was short staffed and I have to admit Carla was working her butt off providing great service to all the patrons she was assigned all over the whole restaurant. She stayed smiling and was still attentive to us and that’s really cool and she was in costume. The food was really good and came out pretty fast due to the place having lots of folks. Only thing you gotta watch out for is the pricing on the Build Your Own Omelette. Each thing you add is 3.00 on top of the 15.00 omelette price and at most other Iphop it’s only 1.29 for each ingredient added.“

“Saw the comment about a mouse and believe me theh went inspected we got 94 out of 100. some of my coworkers may be rude even i myself when a bad custumer just passed honestly try to hige the best service i can with whag i have inside which alot of times we are missing tons of things and its not our fault. “Let me tell you something, this has to be on your list when you come to SF. This is where you need to stop and this is where you need to eat the family the food the everything about this experience was nothing short of wonderful. I live in SoCal so Mexican food is a staple but let me tell you something this was a different experience completely everything is crafted with care and love and you know it I got the poblano spaghetti and omg my mind was blown away. “I live in the Plaza neighborhood and it is so nice to have a quality burger joint in walking distance. They literally have any conceived burger combination you could possibly want. The people are fantastic and polite. Of course the food is always incredible.“

“Amazing service and a small, clean atmosphere. The restaurant seats 18 people max, with one table seating 6, 2 tables sitting 4, and 4 single spots to sit facing the window. The patty was slightly disappointing on the “Cheezburger”, but the fries made up for it. Would definitely go again!“

My top favorite is a Fried Chicken Deluxe and The Deluxe and Fries! You must try the fries and you will get it yourself. They have delicious ice cream as well🍦! “We got it delivered through DoorDash. Unfortunately my burger was missing the cheese but it was still very good. Bun was a little thick but I think that’s the case in most places now. The fries were really crunchy and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her jr cheeseburger. Overall definitely a nice meal and I would order again.“

“Came on a Wednesday and got an enormous delicious beef brisket plate for $22. Probably the best deal I’ve seen in North Beach. The hamburgers look pretty awesome too although I have not tried one yet. My friend got a chicken pesto sandwich which was less exceptionable but not bad.

Definitely worth coming back!

One note: sitting at the back is pretty loud, sounds like there’s a club or something on the other side of the wall so it was hard to hear my friend talking, but that’s probably not an an issue if you come earlier or don’t sit in the very back.“

“The location is right next to a gas station, so it’s probably not the best spot if you’re looking to hang out with friends or have a date night. But don’t let the location fool you—the moment I pulled up, I could smell the food from the parking lot, and it smelled amazing.

The customer service was exceptional. The gentleman who helped me even gave me complimentary black tea with spices while I waited. It was piping hot and had a really good flavor. My food also came out fairly quickly.

I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, which came with seasoned chicken, rice, pita bread, hummus, and a creamy garlic sauce on the side. Everything was hot, flavorful, and well seasoned without being overdone. I was a little surprised that the chicken was shredded since I expected larger grilled pieces, but it was still delicious and had plenty of flavor.

The hummus was especially good—it honestly tasted homemade—and the creamy garlic sauce went perfectly with everything. Overall, the great service and delicious food definitely made up for the location. I’d come back for the food and hospitality.“

“10/10 food and 1000000/10 service! My 13 year old brother went there and ordered his food, and then realized his debit card ran out of funds. The staff still made him his food, and gave him a hug and encouraged him to eat it!

He was too embarrassed and waited until I could come to the restaurant and pay for him. But the owner and the staff treated him like their own little brother, and was willing to give him the meal for free! You rarely see this type of kindness anymore ❤ plus, the burgers and BOMB !“

“If you crave an old fashion burger complete with iceberg lettuce this place is for you. Today was my first time there and I went with the cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was good. Not great but honest. Gave it 7.5. The crinkled fries were mid. Pretty sure they were frozen. I didn't eat em all. Needed salt. The shake was decent and you get a large. Right there i knew it wouldn't be the best shake. For 20 bucks plus tip it was ok. I don't think i got their best. Next time I'm trying the teriyaki burger and chicken. It's a small, side of the road joint that's so close to being incredible.“

“A great burger. From my first year in the bay area there was something special about Nation's Giant Burgers, scattered around the East Bay. A juicy patty, cheese, with the fixings a nice clump of lettuce, onions and tomato, thick slab of cheese and pickles. Great thick fries, and pies.. seriously the best pie I ever had was at a Nation's. Their Strawberry Tart only offered when in season, is just large strawberries, a tasty almost shortbread crust and whipped cream. The one I had in 2001, days after 9/11, the strawberries were bursting with juice, almost like a jam, the skin barely holding, and. not too sweet, not too tart... In Plant City, Florida they have amazing strawberries.. previously the best I had ever tasted, but these, from a California Farm is what they said, are always going to be the best. �Other than their Strawberry Tart, I like their Banana Split, Banana Cream, Chocolate Cream, Pecan, Blueberry... well.. all of them. Never a bad choice. How I like my burger. Cheese, no dressing, grilled onions, light lettuce. Then I get hash browns and ham on the side (sometimes one egg also) and add them to the burger. Anyway. yes. 👍 more, again.“

“The cold whipping wind threatened to derail our outdoor dining experience, but thankfully, we live in Alameda and we knew to bring jackets.

With that out of the way, we proceeded to enjoy a leisurely 2 hour dinner where every dish was expertly prepared and plated. The staff were attentive and checked in on us periodically.

We enjoyed the caesar salad with boquerones, the octopus and bay shrimp ceviche with leche de tigre, the duck confit and the the shoestring potatoes. We finished off the meal with a small citron tarte and some coffee.

Would recommend without reservation, but a reservation might get you seated indoors. :)“

I also enjoyed the garlic fries (VERY garlicky!) and onion rings. My only nitpick is that the sweet potato fries were pretty bland and I wish they had more seasoning. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for burgers.“
