About KAOKAO Grill

KAOKAO Grill is a fast-casual restaurant known for serving fantastic food with great aromatics and flavor. Their chicken and chickpea dish, along with the char siu pork, have received high praise for the perfectly moist chicken and sticky, sweet, fatty, and meaty BBQ pork. The char siu is celebrated for its tender, clean, and flavorful qualities, with some customers calling it out of this world. The setup may appear sparse, but the decoration is cute, and the staff are friendly and super kind, taking time to chat with guests. Vegetarian options include a cucumber salad that has received mixed reviews, with some finding the spicy and numbing version to be the best they have had in the US. Although some feel the eggplant salad has a strong star anise aroma, others enjoy the variety of flavors. Despite being slightly expensive, the satisfying meals offer good value, especially with cash discounts. Many recommend trying both the pork and chicken dishes, which are cooked perfectly—tender and juicy. While some believe the char siu pork plate is decent but not phenomenal, others consider the combination of American-style barbecue with Asian elements to be excellent. The casual vibe makes it a great neighborhood restaurant for everyday eats, with customers expressing eagerness to return.

Sooo good!

Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall...read full review

Got there when they opened, and they were very helpful with the menu. Food took awhile to arrive (20+ mins), and tastes were different. Not bad, just more fusion and may not be suitable for those looking for authentic original flavors.
Mix of American bbq and Asian flavors. Still good, and would go again if we’re in the area
