One of my favorite restaurants in the city and the best Peking Duck I've ever had... every, anywhere. The host is amazing and all the servers are cool and super nice. If you can, seat near the chef that's cutting up the duck, watching him work is awesome.

I booked a table for 5 one week ahead. The host showed us to a 4 people table, while leaving the table next to ours empty that can accommodate 6 people. We requested switch to the 6 people table and we were told it was reserved. We understood and agreed to dine at the 4 people table. Later we saw that the 6 people table were split into a 4 people table and a 2 people table. It's understandable that restaurants were busy during holiday. Based on the reviews, 御食园 Z & Y Peking Duck serves super legit, authentic Chinese food. The Peking duck is fabulous, juicy, and cooked perfectly, though it is not too fatty. The duck must be reserved in advance. The wrapper is kept warm and moist, with fresh scallions and cucumbers. The sauce is spot on, not too sweet or salty. Other highly recommended dishes include the sweet and sour fish, shredded tofu soup, sea cucumber, mapo tofu, noodles, and soup. A meat roll with lots of veggies and excellent sauce is also amazing. The restaurant is very beautiful inside, with a huge bar upstairs and more seating downstairs for larger parties. The menu is huge with lots of options, and the staff are very nice and attentive. Prices are a bit high but worth it. The service is fast, and the food comes out at a nice pace. Reservations are not required but recommended. The experience is 100% recommended, and many would definitely go back.
