“We had dinner there and the food was delicious…. The fried quail was the star. The starters were excellent. Very recommended restaurant”
“Great leisurely lunch with girlfriends. Staff was friendly attentive. The butternut squash ravioli was to die for! Nice ambiance (we sat outside). Enjoyed!”
“We had a great experience at Aziza. We came here for late brunch at 1pm on a Saturday.
The atmosphere in the main dining room is spacious and airy but a little plain. But the separate bar is simply stunning in decor. This space looks like an amazing place to grab a drink after work.
We ordered the following Moroccan inspired / flavored dishes:
- French toast - a beautiful thick egg coated piece of bread laden with excellent tangy blueberry sauce. Delicious.
- Avocado toast - a tasty and satisfying sprout laden avocado toast
- scrambled eggs - made with a dash of sumac and optionally, a very mild chili sauce. Well executed but not particularly memorable. It was only scrambled eggs.
- grilled prawns on a bed of polenta - perfectly done.
- date cake with a caramel sauce and toasted pecans. - simply delicious, but bring your sweet tooth!
- moroccan tea - very delicately flavored; perfect way to end the meal
The wine pairings available by the glass were good but not great.
Frankly the food was ALL delicious and high quality. And the service staff was gracious and excellent. We definitely will return.
If I had to change anything, it would be the following. Perhaps add one or two more vegan or vegetarian options, especially for mains.
Other than that, it was a great experience and one worth repeating.”

“Great spot for Mexican food in San Francisco. Authentic, flavorful dishes, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend, I'll definitely be back! Don't forget to order Spicy Margarita cocktail with the real taste of Maxican Tequila.”
“I highly recommend Mashallah Halal if you are looking for quality Lamb Curry✌🏾”
“Hôtel Biron feels like a hidden pocket of the city where the night slows down and the world softens a bit. The dim light, the brick, the curated art on the walls—it all hits with this warm, lived-in charm that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.
The owner Ron and bartenders are the heartbeat here. Warm, real, and genuinely happy to guide you through the wine list like old friends. No ego, no performance—just people who love what they do and make you feel taken care of.
The wine selection is thoughtful and full of surprises, the kind that makes you pause for a second because it’s that good.
It’s a cozy, art-soaked refuge in the middle of SF. Can’t recommend it enough.”
“It’s a great place to meet friends for fun food and have a glass of wine… it has a cozy interior or you can sit out on Dolores sidewalk and enjoy the lovely neighborhood. The owner and his wife make make you feel relaxed and welcome. It’s also a great date spot and the tables are set up for comfort or intimacy if you prefer- it also offers food to go! Most people who try it want to return!”
“Incredible hidden gem. This place serves authentic tapas style Latin cuisine and everything is tasty. The ceviche is specially great - high quality fish and fresh flavors. Quite surprised a restaurant like this is casually located in the outer sunset. It’s a matter of time til an influencer puts this place on the map and it gets busy.”
“Convenient location in the heart of the city. Fantastic, Involved and Caring owners. Quality Product, would definitely recommend.”
“Best laid back bar in town. Excellent foor and drinks.”
“Had my go to at any Salvadoran spot: pupusas de queso y lorroco with some plátanos and an atole de elote. Everything tasted great! I just wish they would’ve given me more curtido but overall fast service during a Monday afternoon”
“This place has amazing and authentic Cuban style food and drinks. the pastries are made in house and are world class. the customer service is stellar. the amazing flavors of the food will bring you back, over and over. #cuba”
“Dacha is clean, friendly, & welcoming!”
“Truly enjoyed the dining experience! Leaving a 5 star review especially for their amazing food taste, wonderful hospitality, customer friendliness and the care they showed to us. Simply loved dining here!”
“Decent prices and yummy drink appeared handcrafted. There was no rock formations inside. I like the picture of mudkip on the wall because I like him. It was a good place for drink. I went twice”
“Lily and her family make a great team. Very friendly bar, with good service and generous measures of drinks at very reasonable prices. Luckily we were staying just down Post so it quickly became our go-to bar during our short stay in SF. Lovely chicken wings too. Thanks for a great time. And a lovely fluffy cat to boot !!”
“We hired the Brazuca Grill food truck, a family run business, to cater our office holiday party last week. They were a hit. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was impeccable. They were easy to work with from first contact two weeks in advance, through the end of the event night.
They offered combo plates of steak, chicken, pork, or veggie, with rice, black beans, mixed salad, fried sweet plantains, and yuca fries. The meats were cooked perfectly, juicy, and tasty. The sides complimented the meal nicely. They brought Guarana drinks that people also found refreshing.
The final price was very reasonable for the wonderful food and friendly service. They’re a small business that deserves our community’s support.”
“We walked in on NYE without a reservation and they graciously found us a spot in the bar area. Service was on point and staff were festively dressed! I love a crafty cocktail but most are too sweet. I had the Smokey mezcal cocktail 🍹. Perfection. Appetizers were delish as well. Perfect way to start our NYE celebrations.”
“I went to KEN for my birthday and it was absolutely phenomenal. The fish was delicious; so many new flavors and combinations; the chef was superb - talented and entertaining, with great attention to detail. The service was impeccable. I cannot say enough good things!”

“My friend, Mike, who lives nearby with his wife, raved about it so much that my BF and I decided to come after a short trip to Marin. It was everything that he described and more. It was fantastic! Excellent food and atmosphere. Will definitely add to my list of favorites and will recommend to my Palo Alto friends!”
“Great food, service, ambiance. From the time we step foot on your property till we left was very pleasant. we sat at the bar and enjoyed the bar staff. Danny was very knowledgeable of his mixes and very hospitable. All staff was very good. Food was great. My favorite was tacos and caviar and dessert. We will be back”
“Fun experience here. We sat at the bar, and I overheard many customers asking who’s working or customers greeting the staff. Definitely felt like the staff is well known in this neighborhood and has a lot of regular customers. Great to see.
The menu is awesome. Very cool and caught me by surprise as I grew up as a wrestling fan. It felt nostalgic and made it fun to choose a drink.
It seemed like a seasonal or rotating menu since I heard the bartender say this was our new menu. The Andre the Giant drink was the best of the three we ordered (Roddy Rowdy Piper and Rey Mysterio).
The charred cabbage was great. Never thought I would order a cabbage dish, but the description made it appetizing.
They also played great classic hip hop music.”

“This restaurant very accommodating to food allergies, so much so that they request to report any allergies on the food menu and are very professional when it comes to handling them.
I was blown away by the summer squash pizza and mascarpone/san marzano pizza! Some of the best I have ever had. Perfectly crispy crust with very complex complimentary flavors.
Check out the bathroom when you visit as well, it's very cozy.”
“I'm sorry for this my beloved cellarmaker but it's finally time for a review and I must take off a star for just finishing the saltiest slice of pizza I've ever had in my life. Took me an hour to get through it, even though it was good.
I've been patroning this location ever since moving to this fine City and honestly the pizza quality has gone down over time. The chefs have become totally salt-blind. And they make the wildest pizzas I've never conceived of. They need to tone it down a little bit. Make pizzas people enjoy.
The pizza in question tonight had olives, capers, anchovies, and garlic. High sodium was expected, yes, but not like this.
Easily the saltiest olives I've ever had. And the anchovy texture was horrid. Today I learned I do not like my anchovies baked to a dry leather. Fresh-out-the-tin for me only, from now on. I think I've had enough salt for the whole week!!”
“Overall I was happy with my visit, but I wasn't wowed either. The highlight here is the food, the fish is excellent, and the amberjack and spot prawn were exceptional. Be prepared to spend at least $50-60 here, realistically you're approaching the $100 mark to leave without needing some supplement. Service was very attentive, and the only negative part was being abruptly informed that our 90 minute booked slot had expired when we tried to order dessert, a warning about the 90 minute slot would have been appreciated.”

“Kat was a chill bartender and served me a delicious cocktail with rum (something I normally don't like!). The atmosphere was chill for a Wednesday evening, and the music was good to beat. Felt divey yet classy, home but far away. Chill spot, lots of seating, clean, and a great place to wind down after work. Would recommend.
EDIT: Pictured is the Milk Grog (it's phenomenal and sweet!) Also try the Reviver as well, very delicious!”
“Constantly changing 4-course menu with a few supplements. Menu is driven by seasonal market ingredients. It's a fun time and everything is overall tasty - don't expect the precision of a multi-starred Michelin restaurant, because that's not what they're trying to be. Wine list is natural and BTG options are limited to whatever they're pouring for the pairing that evening. Space has lots of energy. Service is friendly and reasonably efficient.”

“Dingles Public House shares a building with a hotel, right under the Inn at the Opera awning. They opened the doors promptly at 5:00 PM, and right from the start, all of the employees we encountered were incredibly friendly. Our waiter did a great job keeping up with the table, providing timely water refills and regular check-ins throughout the night. The restaurant interior definitely has a cozy British pub feel to it, styled with darker colors and very low lighting that sets a relaxed mood. The background music added a fun touch, featuring an 80s pop and rock soundtrack with songs like Little Lies, Girls on Film, Bette Davis Eyes, and Let's Dance.
The food started off strong with the bread and butter. The bread itself was very good with a great crust, though the butter was a bit different than expected. They mix it with an ingredient that changes both its color and flavor, and while it was pretty good, we ultimately would have preferred regular butter. The classic pub snacks hit the mark perfectly. The fries were excellent with a great crunch, easily some of the best I have had in a long time. The scotch egg was also very tasty and well assembled, featuring a perfect outer crunch and great sausage flavor and texture.
For the main courses, the beef wellington was very good. It featured a very tender cut of beef with great flavor and texture, all served alongside a nice gravy and good mashed potatoes. The fish and chips were another major highlight. You get two nice, thick chunks of fish perfectly fried in a super crunchy shell. I really loved that the dish was mostly fish rather than a thick, greasy coating. It came with good accompaniments, including mushy peas that were tasty enough that I actually ate them, and a great curry sauce that was perfect for dipping the fries. The fries again stood out for their excellent crunch; I am not sure if they double-fry them or not, but they are great.
To finish the meal, the sticky toffee pudding was pretty good, though it had a few areas that could be tweaked. One of the spice flavors in the sauce was a bit strong, tasting almost like gingerbread, and the actual pudding cake could have been a bit firmer. The ice cream was also served a bit too hard, which ended up breaking apart the dessert when we tried to press down on it to get a bit on the spoon. Overall, it is an enjoyable place to have dinner with a great pub vibe, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking for seafood, steak, or a classic bar in the San Francisco Civic Center and Hayes Valley neighborhood.”
“The seafood here is absolutely superb in both flavour and service, with exceptionally fresh ingredients. It ranks among the finest seafood I've ever tasted😃😋”
“Welcome to heaven on earth. SF local and either best resturant I've ever been at or tied for first with Han Il Kwan II. Ridiculous quality and exceptional taste. Highly reccomend.”

“Even though we didn’t end up renting from City View Commissary, we felt compelled to leave a review because the experience and customer service were truly exceptional.
The venue itself is beautiful, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully maintained. & a kitchen space could be included in the rental. It’s the kind of space you can easily imagine transformed for a special event. But what really stood out was CJ’s kindness and humanity.
We had just lost our wedding venue only weeks before our wedding. An incredibly stressful and emotional situation and CJ was beyond understanding and compassionate. He was willing to work with us, took the time to listen to our needs, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Even more impressively, he went above and beyond by connecting us with another venue that ended up being a better fit for our wedding, even while we were actively touring his space.
That level of integrity, empathy, and genuine care is rare. City View Commissary is not only a lovely venue, but it’s run by people who truly care about others and that matters. We’re incredibly grateful to CJ and highly recommend City View Commissary to anyone looking for a space and an outstanding team behind it.”
“I LOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE this place! Everything about it is just SO right!!!! I'm lucky enough to have been treated to a few free tastings here, and I must say that I am beyond impressed. I love that they are able to bring a Napa wine tasting experience to the people of SF who can't just get out and drive there all the time. The decor, music, vibe and service are all perfect and they have some delicious wine as well!”
“First time going to this spot went in late around 10 pm. Thank God found something thats halal and 24/. Very friendly owners/employees. I orders the fried chicken combo and fried fish combo both were very delicious my family and I enjoyed our late night dinner in San Francisco.”
“Drink Review-
Service: the cashiers are nice and welcoming.
We order a hot chocolate and a caramel macchiato. The first day a male barista made the drinks and the hot chocolate one of the best ever. Unfortunately, the second day we didn't have the same luck. A lady made the drinks but appeared to be rushing. It showed when we tried the drinks.”
“Let me tell you something, this has to be on your list when you come to SF. This is where you need to stop and this is where you need to eat the family the food the everything about this experience was nothing short of wonderful. I live in SoCal so Mexican food is a staple but let me tell you something this was a different experience completely everything is crafted with care and love and you know it I got the poblano spaghetti and omg my mind was blown away. I hope this place stays around for a very long time. This made my entire trip to SF worth it.”
“This is a classic Italian restaurant with a lively atmosphere and excellent service. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. We ordered the classic pepperoni pizza, the classic cheese and bacon pizza, as well as the lasagna and carbonara. The pizzas were cooked to perfection, with a crispy and delicious crust. The pasta was cheesy and filling.”

“Luke’s Lobster is the best! We discovered it on the East Coast and like it so much that every time we come to San Francisco, we make a special trip. Johnny was behind the counter today - courteous, professional, and friendly. Such fast service and such tasty food. We get the select lobster and seafood trio every time we come and are never disappointed. They even throw in a bag of chips and soft drink, and a dill pickle spear.”
“Got woken up early to get here before 9am for their BBQ pork buns that is super saucy and the bread extra squishy, just how I like it. Was told it still gets sold out by noon. The egg tarts are just as flaky and buttery like what I remember, flavor profiles still great withiut skimping on the ingredients. Food and music have the ability to bring back memories I have long forgotten, I bought a double order of them both and some.
A long standing neighborhood fixture in San Francisco's Richmond District, that opens before 8am and ia still a cash only establishment. The decor I dont think has changed from twenty years ago. just your no-frills staple with value for the quality and classic comfort. Nothing on the menu exceeds $4 still and the smell of their baked goods from a block away brings alot of memories back.
Everything made here to me is a reminder of comfort and memories. A cake can be just a cake, but it can also be a commemoration.”

“On a recent visit to SF I had brunch with my son. Without a doubt the best food I’ve had in a long long time. The great food quality was what really got to me. I’m from the Caribbean so I need spice and flavor in my food and the flavors were so unique and interesting and the owner and her Chef hubby were so fun and genuinely nice people.
I had absolutely no notes.”
“Food and drinks were amazing. We had oysters, calamari, Caesar salad, lobster lasagna and hanger steak. For dessert we had the sorbet and tiramisu. The star of the show: the staff but specifically our server Maggie was also sooo amazing. We were celebrating a birthday and a farewell dinner and she made sure we had the best time! As a F&B manager, I love a good dining experience and this was it!”

“California-style Cantonese cuisine! I really like the decoration style here, which always makes me feel better when dining here. The golden lotus chandelier and the gold and silver wire lamp are definitely the best decoration! 👍The pastries here are also worth mentioning! Pineapple buns, wife cakes, black sesame banana cakes with miso sugar!”
“I was celebrating my 75th birthday on June 23rd 2026 had the privilege of eating your food delicious we ordered chicken yams greens mac and cheese and he had oxtails falling off the bone remind me at home me and my five year old Grand and Grandpa was just delighted thank you for sharing I do hope that I pray that I'll be able to return at some point to San Francisco”
“Loved it! Our waitress was amazing and super friendly. The food was awesome. We are so happy to have found this place. We had the raw oysters on half shells our favorite was the satori, followed by hogisland highwater, sunset then the golden nugget. We had to try the clam chowder and it did not disappoint. The fish and chips was absolutely delicious as well. Highly recommend and plan to return next time we visit.”
“What a great little find! It was great food. When I asked for a suggestion on wine; our waiter was so nice and asked me a few questions as to what I liked and gave me a great Pinot I loved! No judgements on my lack of familiarity with wines. The squid ink sauce was incredible!!!!”
“It’s easy to find sushi restaurants with high-quality fish these days, but good shari (the rice) is still hard to come by in San Francisco. The moment the chef told everyone to eat the sushi right away, I knew he really knew what he was doing. Sure enough, when he placed it on the plate, the shari gently sank - perfect texture. Saw someone complaining that the rice fell apart… you belong at a place that serves edamame and California rolls 👋 lol”
“The pizza is splendiferous! It's truly the best pizza I've ever had. It's crunchy, good size and not greasy. The atmosphere is homey and friendly. The artwork and drawings on the walls adds to it. The cherry on top is the owner! He's passionate and friendly to all. The perfect place for lunch.”
“The pizza was amazing! Thin crust, and great combination of toppings. Lines can be long, but they also have so many great options for baked goods in the bakery. We got there late so most things were sold out except the pizza, but we definitely will be back to try more. There is limited outdoor seating with some benches outside.”
“I have been twice and so far everything has been delicious. I need to go back a few more times to try everything on the menu. Don't forget to save room for dessert. The cocktails are fantastic.”

“Spruce is Michelin-Star-worthy. Absolutely fantastic in every way. My server Michael T was so kind, knowledgeable, attentive as were the other staff. The Alaska gin/yellow chartreuse/orange bitters cocktail was unique and flavorful, and I received excellent advice on choice of wines (was even allowed two half glasses of two wines with the duck since I couldn't decide after tastings!). I had the agnolotti primavera, duck two ways, and pastel de maiz if I recall correctly; on the dessert. Everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful, seasoned well, delectable. Corn infused sauce with the dessert was incredibly unique, sweet, creamy, and so tasty. Amuse Bouche, Parker rolls, chocolate tray all amazing and server kindly offered me small caviar tastes since I had mentioned interest but was worried I would get too full. Beautiful ambiance. I just had a wonderful meal and time there. Thank you Spruce team!”

“A small, family-run spot tucked between Broadway and the Transamerica Pyramid delivers the kind of honest, soul-warming lunch that’s increasingly rare in the city. Run by a lovely older couple who treat every customer like a regular, this no-frills counter serves up comfort food at prices that feel like a time capsule.
Cash/venmo only so you know it's fire”
“A very cozy place in the financial district. Even though we went on a weekend, there were still a lot of people working there. Their pour over coffee is reasonably priced and they also provide coffee beans in the shop. I like the paintings they have inside. The coffee also comes with a postcard telling us where the coffee beans come from and the history, which I think is very nice. If you like coffee, I recommend giving this place a try.”
“This place should have a line out the door every day. Incredible value. Excellent service. Delicious food. Warm and friendly staff. They greeted all their regulars by name like old friends. I can't wait to become a regular myself. I can't recommend enough. Coming back as often as I can.”
“Lovely friendly Italian wine bar and delicious restaurant. Fresh innovative salads, pastas and main courses. Highly recommended.”
“best indian food in the city hands down. chicken tikka is elite. garlic and butter naan the perfect mix of warm crispy but buttery. they even have delicious gluten free naan. flavors are poppin. service is sweet.”
“Julia was the best server! She had the most amazing recommendations. The house red blend was incredible. The ceviche was amazing, guacamole was a huge and delicious portion. Chips were great. Sopes were great. We’ll absolutely be back!”
“The view is comfortable and the dishes are exquisite. It is highly recommended.”
“Definitely not your typical brunch. We loved the Filipino inspired creations. Don’t skip the French toast with caviar hollandaise, crumbled bacon, and shrimp. It’s AMAZING!”
“Really nice vegetarian tasting menu. Had a great time. Felt forgotten a few times sitting by the window but it was relaxed meal and good food. Wait list walk in was only about 1hr on a Saturday at 6pm”
“Lovely atmosphere and service from the hostess to our servers. Menu is unique yet simple. Great for vegetarians looking for finer menu. Every bite was flavorful and delicious!”

“I just walked in during a busy time. The waiters were great and the atmosphere was hoping. I was able to make my order, half bacon&half pepperoni Detroit style. The pizza did not disappoint. I live in Chicago and very picky and this pizza met my expectations. Even good the next morning cold(yes cold).”
“A friend recently introduced me to Laundromat Bagel & Cafe on Balboa Street in the Outer Sunset, and I'm so glad they did.
The cafe immediately stood out thanks to the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bagels drifting onto the street. Inside, the space felt airy and inviting, with a thoughtful blend of wood and metal accents that created a warm, modern atmosphere. What impressed me just as much was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, smiling, and genuinely friendly. Their warmth made the experience feel personal and memorable.
As for the bagels, they are hands down superior to most bagels I've had in San Francisco. Even without toasting, the exterior had a satisfying crunch while the inside remained light and fluffy. The flavor was wonderfully balanced—neither sweet nor grainy, but pleasantly nutty. Most remarkable of all, the bagels weren't overly chewy, allowing their texture and flavor to shine.
The cream cheese deserves special recognition as well. The best way I can describe it is New York meets Bay Area style: dense and creamy, yet somehow light and fluffy, with just the right amount of tanginess.
I'm thrilled to have been introduced to Laundromat for its exceptional bagels. Now I have every reason to return and see what their pizza and beer are all about.”
“No one in our family could decide what was their favorite! If you decide to go here, don't skip the duck. It was delicious in so many different ways. Service was wonderful as well.”

“Amazing food, attentive and knowledgable service made for a memorable first night in San Francisco!!!!”
“Had a luncheon @ Perbacco with my 9 coworkers and Manager to say “goodbye & farewell” to a retiring coworker and “welcome” to a new coworker. Started with a round of hors d'oeuvre’s. The thin sliced veal with a sauce and capers was delicious! The fried shrimp, veggies and olives/anchovies…also with a sauce was awesome as well. For my main, I had CRESTE DI GALLO - semolina pasta - wild mushroom ragu - spinach - ricotta salata. Our waiter was the best! I saved one of the sugar cookies from my deserts…Burnt Carmel Gelato. Mentioned it to our waiter and as we were leaving, I heard “Sir! Sir!” He brought me one of their meringue cookies to also share with my partner! I thought that was just awesome! Top notch food and customer service. We’ll be back!”
“i go to nepa indian cuisine today food taste very good like home. curry is nice and naan very soft and fresh too. staff people polite and service is fast i not wait long. place is little bit small but clean i like it. i think i will come back soon with friends because price also fair. good honest food.”
“Ordered birthday cake and it was divine. Cake was so moist and delicious. Customer service was fantastic too. Will definitely order again”

“Everything we ordered was good. In fact we couldn’t eat it all. Your pizza was so delish! Never had chow fun wrapped up in little rolls but it was pretty good. Your shaking beef salad was good too. Definitely a dining experience in Asian fusion!”
“Had San Francisco Cioppino (Mussels. Clams, Crab, Cod, Prawns, Scallops and Garlic Bread that was the bomb). Only giving 2 thumbs up as I only have 2. Great food, great service!”

“Great place to relax and enjoy great food and service in Haight- Ashbury! Very welcoming -”
“Food was very tasty and well prepared, staff attentive and responsive, ambience is perfect”
“There are levels to this tiki thing and this place is without a doubt the best of the best. The drinks are all phenomenal, the bartenders are in tune with the drinks they sell, and there's a huge variety of drinks available. I cannot speak more highly of this place.”
“Iconic SF chicken spot surprised us with other tasty treats. Don't sleep on the flourless chocolate cake, chilled shrimp, or fritto!
Food: 5. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Cost to worth it rating: 3
Opentableable: yes
Return worthiness: yes
Highlight:
- Charley: most amazing waiter. Friendly and so on top of it. Anticipated what we needed and paid attention to details. Realized an app I mentioned was lost in a service handoff on his own and said he'd make it happen.
- Flourless chocolate cake: fluffiest version I've had with just the right amount of subtle sweetness. 5 stars
- White shrimp: fantastic chilled starter can order by the piece. 5 stars
- Fritto: lightly fried crispy calamari, broccolini, and the surprise star; eggplant. 5 stars
- Anchovies: not too salty or briny and my friend enjoyed them. 5 stars
- Chicken: well cooked and appreciated the brine: 4.5 stars
- Roasted tomatoes and peppers: as sides for the steak were almost Chez Panisse worthy wonderful. 4.5 stars
- Acme bread and butter: solid and appreciate no bread plates to encourage using the paper on the table. 4 stars
- Bavette steak: cooked nicely with flakey salt on top. 4 stars
- Squash and bresaola: unique dish and appreciated the almonds for texture. 4 stars
- Pavlova: unique with fennel and raspberries. Great texture not too crunchy and not too soft. 4 stars
- Atmosphere: simple yet comfortable with several hidden dining rooms upstairs in addition to the downstairs area
- Wine: short list but enjoyed what we had: extra brut, gamey, unique white varietal, and white label house pinot.
Midlights:
- If Barting not the most fun 10 minute walk down market, but could muni closer.
Lowlights:
- Chicken did stay true to its long wait of over an hour which is quite a while. Like that it's done fresh but with most people ordering them you'd think maybe they could have them ready and have a steady stream of fresh ones.
- I've lived in the area all my life and have been meaning to visit but have never been here--been missing out”
“Constantly changing 4-course menu with a few supplements.
“fantastic little restaurant - excellent wine list and great beef bourgogne”
“Last year, during my first visit to San Francisco, I discovered this restaurant and absolutely loved it. Now I’m back in San Francisco for the second time, and on my very first day in town, I knew I had to come back here.
The food is incredibly delicious! I was so excited to start eating that I completely forgot to take a picture of the chicken soup, but I did manage to get photos of the İskender and the dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and just as amazing as I remembered.
If you’re in San Francisco, you should definitely give this place a try—you won’t regret it!”
“Sublime French cuisine in an awesome location. Great “secret” spot in SF.”
“Excellent food! The prix fixed tasting menu was very generous and delicious. We were stuffed!”
“My fiancé and I found your restaurant Saturday afternoon while sightseeing the city. We were so impressed with the atmosphere and hospitality. This place is the best for nice afternoon seafood lunch! Thank you so much for the delicious meal.”
“Hands down the best beef Pho I have ever had! Will recommend to all people I ever meet. Will live rent free in my mind. Staff is kind. Come Hungry portions are biggg”
“Best food Ever!! It’s super clean and healthy and nutritious. Try the lavender or clove kumbucha we loved both! And we tried both wraps they were so delicious. Definitely appreciate the warm hospitality and cute vibes upstairs:) Loved it!”
“Exceptional fine dining experience! Attentive knowledgeable owner, chef, and staff. Amazing cocktails and well prepared French food.”
“I must say i had high hopes but the meal was tasteless but my friends had too much salt. I wanted to like it. Wont return, wont recommend. ☹”
“The food was outstanding! We however went for our anniversary meal, and were wisked in and out in 50 minutes! Plates were wisked away seconds after they came, we literally twice had the food in our hands mid-bite when plates were taken away, some with food still in them. We tried to slow it down and keep food in the plates so we could talk, but as soon as we lifted a piece, whish- gone and another plate in its place. Turning over tables overtly or bad timing, I'm not sure.”
“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I am a business owner a few doors down and I wandered in with a friend after work one night about a month ago. We were met with such incredible warmth from the staff and the environment itself, even without a reservation. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Josh, only to find out later that he is the owner. He made excellent recommendations on everything from our drinks to dessert. The bar didn’t feel isolated from the rest of the restaurant and guests, but rather was lively hub frequented by kitchen and serving staff and warmed by a smoldering wood fire. The coziest. We swooned for the poke appetizer, complete with house-made toasted, but not crisp, blue corn tortillas. The pork shoulder tacos—also to die for. I have to say though, that the star on the sidelines was the beans. I honestly didn’t know I could feel this way about beans…but I digress. Josh bounced around from table to table all night, never letting a single ball drop, making every guest feel like *his* guest. A pot de crème sealed the evening in perfect bliss. I’m back a month later with the same friend, eating different and somehow even more incredible entrees: ribeye, halibut and a rhubarb crisp for dessert. I scarcely ever take the time to write a review as I prefer to vote with my $ and my feet, but I simply couldn’t eat here again without taking the time to sing it’s praises. Eat here.”
“Best dining experience I’ve had since I moved here. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. My new favorite restaurant 💚💚💚”
“Anchor Oyster Bar is worth the wait. Be prepared though, the line can be quite long, especially during lunch and on weekends, since it’s a small restaurant and they don’t have many tables.
I ordered the 12 oysters on the half shell, and they were very fresh, clean tasting, and served ice cold.
The Boston clam chowder was excellent, thick, creamy, and loaded with clams without being overly salty. It’s a must-order.
Service was friendly and efficient once seated.”
“A great way to experience a four course meal at an affordable price, with delicious food. We will definitely be back.”
“Holy moly, this place was great! The food is tasty & beautifully served. The service was great & Hannah made terrific suggestions. Really well done!”
“One of my favorite Sunday brunch places in the city. The food is always amazing, often with an unique flair. The service is always on point with very friendly staff making it even that much better of an experience.”
“🌟 NOPA San Francisco: A Bucket List Culinary Triumph! 🌟 Review by: The Bucket List Coach Webshow. I recently had the distinct pleasure of crossing a major culinary destination off my bucket list: NOPA San Francisco. My dining experience on December 12, 2025, was not just a meal; it was an absolute masterclass in hospitality and farm-to-table excellence. Exceptional Service: A Shoutout to Zach! From the moment we sat down, the experience was elevated by our server, Zach. He truly went above and beyond, anticipating needs and offering spot-on recommendations, making the dining experience feel incredibly special and seamless. A massive shoutout to Zach, as well as the entire Culinary team, Management team, and staff—the level of coordination and passion was palpable. Appetizers and Beverages: Instant Classics The meal kicked off with the Date and Pear appetizer, which was absolutely fantastic—a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and texture. And for the beer lovers out there, you must try the Honey Beer 🍺. I'm officially adding this to my personal "Beer Bucket List!" I will absolutely be recommending it to all my followers on my podcast and through my travel agency. Thanks to Woods Beer and Wine Company! The Entrée: Perfection on a Plate For the main course, I opted for the Duck, and it was cooked to perfection. Seriously, melt in the mouth- tender meat was phenomenal. The plate presentation was stunning, far exceeding my expectations—it was a true work of art. The side of Grapefruit and Vinaigrette Salad was the perfect accompaniment. It was one of the best salads I have ever had in San Francisco; the brightness of the grapefruit cut through the richness of the duck beautifully. Desserts: Celebrating National Cocoa Day! To celebrate National Cocoa Day Dec. 13th-I couldn't resist. I highly suggest partaking in the Hot Chocolate for a decadent dessert item—it was rich, velvety, and a perfect holiday treat. And if you still have room, the Cheesecake with Brown Sugar is another truly fantastic dessert that offers a wonderful, comforting finish to the meal. NOPA is more than just a restaurant; it's a destination. The ambiance, the incredible staff like Zach, and the impeccable, thoughtful food quality solidify NOPA as a must-visit spot in San Francisco. It earns its place on any serious foodie's bucket list Cindy Lee Podcast Host at Bucket List Coach Web Show & Founder of Bucket List Coach Travel Tours”

“Just fantastic. We didn’t have reservations but were seated nicely at the bar. Great cocktails. Top notch service. Friendly neighborhood vibe. We splurged on caviar and famous smoked duck.”
“Been wanting to go here for a while and finally scored a rezi. It was well worth it. The food, wine, service and vibe were all on point. Will definitley be coming back.”

“This place was one of the best highlights of our trip!! Real Italian food. The owners were real gentlemen. The way that they worked that restaurant was amazing. I was amazed by their food and service, both authentic. My friend and I had the best time. We would go again and again!”
“First this is a great mom and pop restaurant, good portions, lot of variety. Second, reading reviews, don't you think it a bit suspicious when exact same review word for word with different people even months or a few years apart? Some of the review is ok but the one about being next door to the Hilton is not here.”
“Hands down our favorite go-to restaurant when we are in the city going out to dinner, or when we are looking to take out-of-towners someplace truly unique, or when we are looking to bring the most delicious dinner home. The seafood is as fresh and high quality as it gets, served in the most unique way. Start with the chowder, packed with a wide variety of shellfish, spiced just right with a little kick to it, neither New England nor Manhattan, they have invented a new broth that is both rich and flavorful while being light. The Scallops are a must try. They simply melt in your mouth with a burst of complex flavors. The small plate tostadas meld flavors and textures you just can’t find anywhere else. Although it is located on Divisadero in a multi-block long string of restaurants, the atmosphere inside has the feel of the most comfortable neighborhood bistro. Impecable service all at a very reasonable price for the quality and the creativity and joy the food will bring to your palate.”
“My friends and I just spotted your restaurant after being at a movie on Chestnut st. We just wanted a light bite to eat, we chose the Red Lentil soup fantastic. The Spanikopita excellent and a Bean dish all e with delicious Pita and red Huumus?. We will return.Thank you.!”

“I was thoroughly surprised to have authentic Japanese treats in the middle of a tourist attraction. Everything we ordered as so good, the view was good, the service was good. We ordered the matcha Swiss roll, and the rice cakes with tea. I like that you can actually taste the matcha. Most matcha desserts don't actually taste like matcha. It was so good we actually came back a few hours later for seconds. This time we tried the cheese cake and another round of the rice cakes and tea.”
“I ate here alone for my Birthday and had an amazing experience. Excellent service, recommendations and I was given a table with a view of the bridge. I loved the milk bread and ceviche! It was very busy during Happy Hour but I came for dinner. I will be back for the impressive service.”

“Wow 10/10 amazing food and drinks! If we could’ve tried everything on the menu we would have.
Not pictured - the martinis! Great pairing for the seafood we ordered.
We started with the oysters which were fresh and shucked perfectly. No shells, so clean.
Then we ordered the bread and butter - thick slices toasted just right with butter and flaky salt. Truly everything you wish for out of a bread and butter scenario and the snack you need after walking around the city all day.
Then the 3 best dishes we’ve have in SF:
Mussel Conserva Toast - I could’ve eaten 4 of these it was that good. Personally my favorite plate of the night. Mussels were smokey and the fennel provided a light balance. Get this if you go here! Sleeper hit
Beef Tartare - the execution on this was 10/10. Flavors were so balanced, it is exactly what you want when eating a tartare. I will dream of this. And the homemade chips with it!! No notes
Steak & Fries - the only way to describe this was exquisite. So flavorful, so tender…one of those plates that looks unassuming but your eyes go wide at the first bite. The fries were salted just right and so crispy. Again no notes
Food aside, the service was incredible, everyone who worked there seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves, were attentive, and provided suggestions on the menu. I would be shocked if this place doesn’t blow up. It’s a hidden gem (for now)”
“Progeny Coffee is an excellent café with high-quality, expertly brewed coffee and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, and the care put into each cup really shows. The staff is friendly and attentive, making it a great place to relax, work, or meet with friends. Highly recommended for coffee lovers.”
“Wolfsbane was an incredible experience. The plates were beautifully presented, with balanced, creative flavors throughout the meal. The service was attentive, polished, and professional, making the entire evening feel thoughtfully executed from start to finish.”
“I absolutely love this place. I read some of the low reviews because I couldn’t believe there were some. Yes, the price is high but that’s most bars in the city. And yes, it can take a while to order but that’s because every drink is crafted and presented with care. This place has some of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had. They are always changing up the menu and doing some fun pop up’s and themes. Customer service is exceptional, especially Leo. I love that it is not easy to find and that you have to know the password.”
“Healthy, fresh meal. Filling, yet light. Felt kind of a splurge just for a casual lunch, so maybe come here with more dedicated time.
I finished the nabe just by myself. I got the pork one, and thought the meat was good quality. I wouldn’t say portions are big here. The flavors are also very light, even with the sauces. The mushrooms were not satisfying and we tasted more of the breading in each bite rather than the mushroom itself.
Our waiter was pleasant. Overall, the price of the meal was a bit higher than I expected for what we got (like $50pp). I feel like hot pot restaurants are cheaper and would offer ayce.”
