“Outstanding scones & tea sandwiches! Friendly, warm staff!“
“The Japanese Tea Garden is one of my favorite places to visit in Golden Gate Park. It’s not a huge park, but that’s part of its charm -it feels serene, cozy, and beautifully peaceful. Walking through the garden with the cherry blossoms, pagoda, stone paths, and colorful koi fish instantly makes you slow down and relax.
The little gift shop is absolutely adorable, and of course the tea garden itself is a must. It’s the perfect place to sit down and enjoy matcha, sencha tea, udon, and mochi while taking in the calm atmosphere and lovely views.
A beautiful little escape in the middle of the city that never gets old.“

“very peaceful place for tea and snack i like pancake taste very fresh not too sweet. people talk soft and helpful. they also sell some healthy food i buy few for home. nice place i go again.“
“I’ve tried a few drinks here because I love their aesthetic and found my favorite (peach oolong with the cream + pecan topping, 50% sweet). It’s light, fragrant but not overpowering and refreshing on a nice day in SF. I waded through a bunch of people at Molly tea the other weekend in South Bay and it’s usually much easier to order here and just as good. Love the little figurines and calligraphy decor too (those aren’t for sale)! ✨“
“Wonderful tea tasting. Well worth $10“
“This is still my FAVORITE Japanese tea shop. They have the best quality loose teas, beautiful handmade tea cups & sets, tea accessories, so many cute cat items, and it’s the perfect place to buy gifts. Staff is super friendly and helpful.“
“Tea master was very welcoming and answered everyone's questions. There were so many great teas to choose from.“

“Had afternoon tea here twice; the first time for 2 persons, the second time for 3. Tea selection and the atmosphere was outstanding, service was ok.
During my first visit, the food for 2 was nicely presented on a tiered platter, beautiful and appetizing.
However on my second visit, I was very disappointed with the food presentation; a 2-person tiered platter was used to hold food for a party of 3. As a result, the food was literally piled on to the platter on each tier. This must be a presentation mistake which compromised our dining experience. The visual appeal was lost and somehow the food did not taste as good as the first time…😟“
“Stopped by Ten Ren’s Tea in San Francisco Chinatown today during a power outage — while many shops were completely dark, Ten Ren’s was still open and brightly lit. That alone already impressed me.
As always, their boba milk tea did not disappoint. This is not a dessert-style drink — the tea flavor is rich, fragrant, and very well-balanced. The boba was perfectly chewy, not mushy, and the sweetness and ice level were just right.
Orders:
• Iced black milk tea with boba
• Iced green tea with boba
• Hot oolong milk tea with boba (my choice — highly recommended)
Consistent quality, authentic tea taste, and reliable even in unexpected situations. A must-visit tea spot in Chinatown.“

“Experts on Asian tea and a fantastic selections. Also beautiful teapots and tea cups. This is the right place if you want to learn or are an experienced tea lover. Also a nice and informative web page and excellent service.“
“amazing service, matcha was strong. but too thick for my personal taste, I got the strawberry einspanner so that might very made it thicker, might go again to try the matcha latte. the soft serve was pretty good, I could taste the quality. the matcha was very strong, if you love a strong matcha soft serve this is for you but for me personally I couldn't handle it 😵💫“

“Jokes and memes aside, the food is OK.They have super large cup boba with a variety of flavors, though the sweetness is fixed. The bento box ? is fair, and it would be better if there can be some vegetables/pickles in it. Currently it is basically fried snacks with rice.“

“I LOVE this place. I miss coming here since I moved across the water to Oakland. Every so often when I go to the city I make a point to stop in to get my favorite matcha with the red bean. I loved it so much I brought my family here who was visting from out of state. I was pleased to know they liked it as well.“

“The fruit tea was pretty good, and the boba had a nice chewy texture, which was definitely a plus.
The shop itself was clean and comfortable. In fact, the cleanliness inside was much better than the surrounding street area. There were plenty of seats available, and the couches made it a nice place to sit and relax.
My only complaint is the ceiling fan located under the hanging lights. When the fan is spinning, it creates a flickering shadow effect that can be a bit uncomfortable for the eyes, especially if you’re sitting directly underneath it.“

“We're so lucky to have so many great boba cafes here in San Francisco. And Black Sugar is one of them.
It's a small spot at the edge of the Tenderloin near Union Square. They have a few caffeine-free choices and I got their mango sago, which is a mango puree with grapefruit bits and coconut milk. Since it already had sago, I didn't add boba, which is good btw. Its has that qq bounce and is softly sweetened with brown sugar.
The mango was so refreshing! The coconut added a creamy texture and the grapefruit bits added a pop of tartness. The sago added another layer of texture that was both soft and chewy. I usually like to take my time with boba drinks, but this one was so good that I drank it pretty fast.
I usually order mine online for pick up. But service is pretty quick after ordering. Though I can imagine it's busier on weekends.
I've had several of their drinks, including their popular black sugar fresh milk, and they are all good. Definitely take a detour when you're in Union Square when the boba craving hits.“
“The people I was with seem to really enjoy their meal. In the past, the Benedict have been delicious. My vegan option just was two pickled not enough contrast lackluster. The ambience was lovely and the company was great. Service was also good.“

“Absolutely, 10000% recommended. If you’re looking for an authentic dim sum restaurant, skip the others and come straight here. The owner Frankie is wonderful. Customer Service + great food: I’d pay double. I recently surprised a client and Frankie’s team went above & beyond the call of duty to take care of a guest from out of town. The menu was incredible. I’m happy to keep coming back. 10/10 stars. ⭐️ Thank you Frankie & Team!!!“

“Uncle Gee is so knowledgeable, hospitable, gregarious and compassionate. I went in there looking for a healing tea because my daughter had suffered a miscarriage.. immediately he expressed his condolences and explained with such detail why the tea he was giving me was for her and I explained other situations and all I can say is, I bought everything he recommended. It was my first time there and we have been drinking it properly and it has made all the difference in the world for our health & has brought us together. Tea is an experience for sure & drinking it correctly makes it even better! Thank you & continued blessings“
