“What a great discovery Cocina Mama Cholita was! Just a small unassuming place on Mission St that we happened to walk into. The young proprietor had us sample all three enchilada sauces since we were unsure about which ones to pick. All three were delicious, but the the mole sauce was one of the best I had ever tasted. His grandma’s recipe, he said. Overall, a great experience! Serendipitous!!“

Great variety of vegan and vegetarian food with offerings outside of what you find at other places. They also have lunch buffet menu! You can tell this is an authentic place and an old SF staple. “Dabao is DaBOMB. Went for dinner there last night. I am visiting from Vancouver and so needed to try tried all of Emily’s signature plates. Each plate was better than the next. Flavorful, fresh and just absolutely delicious. And the spicy condiments were sooo good. This is not your average food court fare. Not only is this the best option at the Metreon, it’s up there with the best options in town. They also cater and you can order through all the delivery apps. Try it and you will not be disappointed.“

“Fantastic experience at Once Upon a Dosa! I’ll break my review down into a few simple categories.

Food: very very tasty chicken keema dosa! Chai was also very nice and piping hot as it should be on a chilly day.

Service: top notch service. Friend ordered the OG roast Dosa and didn’t realize it came with no potatoes. Upon simple explanation, and at no extra charge, they gave us a serving of potatoes for his dosa to upgrade it since we had a misunderstanding.

Price: pricey by my southern standards but for SF, not bad at all especially considering the portions. Plus the drinks were not expensive at all which was icing on the cake.

Would 100% recommend for a very tasty quick bite, and excellent friendly service!“

“I recently had Jason cook for my 40th birthday backyard/pool party for ~18 adults and he was phenomenal! Not only are his paellas and tapas incredibly tasty, he is also an all around great person. We had the paella Valencia moderna and the vegetarian paella and both were excellent, even better than the paellas I have had in Spain. My friends/family are still raving about his food! The presentation of everything was very impressive and really elevated the already exceptional flavors of all the food. The booking process was also seamless, Jason is an excellent communicator and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Chef Jason and his paella for your next special gathering! “Burke & Black served it up for us at our event. We had unique, rich, and amazing charcuterie boards for our Black & Brown Founders Fundraiser. I was hosting the event and when I finally got a chance to eat, everyone was actively grazing over the options and trying everything. I was feeling impatient about not being able to get to the food, but happy to see everyone enjoying it. Nicole is amazing and she really picked some unique varieties that come together so well. Based off our experience at our fundraiser event, I highly recommend her.“

“Wonderful experience with the Revel meal delivery! The food was DELICIOUS and prepared perfectly. The whole family (including 5 kids) enjoyed it! The menu was creative and I could customize our order - double orders of protein and single orders of vegetables. They provided a touchless delivery with all of the items clearly labeled with ingredients (in case someone in your house is dealing with allergies) and clear instructions on how to finish the preparation. And to top it off, not only was the delivery on time, they texted me with a 20-minute heads up text so I would know exactly when my delivery would be on my door stop. For me, I was grateful for that extra effort so our food didn’t sit out in the sun.“

We had to relocate our wedding at the last-minute due to the Napa/Sonoma fires and their team stepped up big-time to recreate the menu we already had from a different caterer. The beef shortribs were fantastic, as was the house charcuterie -- the guests couldn't get enough! The service staff was wonderful too -- you'd never know this hadn't been a year+ in the making! “YES. Just yes. Arguably the best Salvadoran food in the City. Arguably best brunch if not top 2. Chilaquiles for sure are the best in SF (and I’ve done the tour around town at all the top spots) these ones are perfect, especially once you add the steak. Pupusas are cooked to perfection and that tamale?! That’s something special wrapped in a banana leaf. This is a MUST HIT brunch. Will be back to explore the rest of the menu.

Bonus. Their coffee shop at the corner serves a great cup and the music is on point on the little patio out back.“

This was an important event, for 60 people in our home, and, in no small part thanks to Jordan, was stress-free. “Even though we didn’t end up renting from City View Commissary, we felt compelled to leave a review because the experience and customer service were truly exceptional.

The venue itself is beautiful, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully maintained. & a kitchen space could be included in the rental. It’s the kind of space you can easily imagine transformed for a special event. But what really stood out was CJ’s kindness and humanity.

We had just lost our wedding venue only weeks before our wedding. An incredibly stressful and emotional situation and CJ was beyond understanding and compassionate. He was willing to work with us, took the time to listen to our needs, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Even more impressively, he went above and beyond by connecting us with another venue that ended up being a better fit for our wedding, even while we were actively touring his space.

That level of integrity, empathy, and genuine care is rare. City View Commissary is not only a lovely venue, but it’s run by people who truly care about others and that matters.
