“Great place to eat after the theater. Great food, nice ambience, an overall happy experience! Try the empanadas--delicious! My husband had the Cuban sandwich, and I had the ropa vieja. Delish! This is a minor complaint because our waitress was really nice. However, I will say that a gentleman was a little ornery about where to seat us. We arrived at 4:00 P.M. to an empty restaurant, and he wouldn't seat us further away from the door, where we wanted to sit because it was cold. He said that they were saving the seats for the big crowds that they expected. However, by the time we left the tables we would have desired were filled with groups of two or four. They turned off the fans, so we were comfortable, but his attitude got us off to a bad start. The rest of the visit was great, and we would recommend this restaurant and would return.“
“I can see why this place has 5 stars. Very friendly staff and very clean, the food was delicious and the OJ was very unique. I had the breakfast sando with croissant. Also had the potatoes very delicious. Would like to see an ALL Organic plate instead of only some items for the price but overall very tastey.“
“My favorite place in San Francisco, everything seasoned with an amazing delicacy, there is no waste in anything on their menu (The chicken in any presentation is ufff, the Brussels sprouts or the Umami not to mention...), the place is very clean, the very careful attention and always everyone with the best attitude in the service.. they got 100Vegetarian options: Very healthy food for demanding tastesDietary restrictions: Gluten free menuKid-friendliness: Dishes well suited for childrenWheelchair accessibility: There are no steps in the premises“
“An amazing experience here, the restaurant has a great vibe inside. There’s a lot of seats (whole upper level for seating). You can order by QR code to the table or pay up front. The pizza is cheesy and crunchy—perfect balance. The owner at this location is particularly kind, friendly and enthusiastic so shoutout to him. A must visit in SF!“
“My husband and I really liked it here, came accross it post discovering the bay. We'd walked miles, and fancied some pizza! We chose well. It's a really lovely place, plenty of seating snd they accommodate us walking in on a busy night. The aesthetic is special. All the staff were really great. We had a mix of pizza, with some extra toppings, mozarella sticks and olives. If there's one thing you need, it's the insanely cheesy mozarella sticks! Don't eat here without them.Pizza was really good, crispy and flavoursome. The price is fine considering location, and portion sizes. Would recommend going here!“
“Stopped by this place for coffee and was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast bagel sandwiches were amazing and he can make it with whatever you please. I had egg, avocado, and cheese on Asiago and my husband had egg, bacon, cheese, veggies, with slight spice. We loved them both. Coffee was good with lots of variety. Best of all he was very nice and accommodating as we were just visiting from out of town. Highly recommended!“
“Where has this place been? Nobody (well, most places) knows the struggle of wanting both sweet and savory like they do! If you feel the same, you have to stop by and order the CDMX which has chilaquiles with your choice of meat, a concha french toast with strawberries, and eggs with potatoes- all in one plate. The portion is pretty big and can probably feed two people or one very hungry person. The inside has a homey vibe and is also very clean. Service was super friendly and welcoming.“
“One of the best sandwich spots in the city, they open as early as 7am and their sandwiches never MISS! Service is great the ladies behind the counter always have a smile and have great attitudes when you order your sandwich. I always get the Italian combo or the pastrami sandwich and it’s always bomb.Pro tip: ask to get your sandwich toasted!“
“One of the best hot pastrami sandwiches I've had in a long time. Generous amount of meat, good size, with a tasty soft hoagie roll. I only had half of it for lunch. Salt and cinegar potato chips were a great side for it. I also had the potato salad. I am not a mayo person and I did not mind this one. No oily aftertaste, it was great! It also went great with the pastrami. Love the local neighborhood vibe and the super nice ladies that were behind the counter that day. Can't wait to try their other sandwiches!“
“The sausage factory in Castro is a top notch restaurant! The food was great and the service was excellent. The atmosphere of this small restaurant is one of the very best.Booth by the window so you can watch the people move around on Castro street! It’s a must visit and dine , prices a very good considering you are in San Francisco.“
“Just stopped in for the first time, smiling ear to ear… a Tropisueno just a little closer to home? Had the guacamole, they mix it with tomatillo and tomato, very flavorful and fresh… a red roast pepper salsa, chips are very solid, not too hard, and hold a clean oil well. Flautas came with extra lettuce and a coupe tomatoes, some zesty crème sauce…Very pleased with the happy hour portions, price… will be looking forward to the next time, already want to go back :)“
“This is my absolute favorite place for a weekday lunch in the Marina. All of the ingredients are so fresh and everything I have ordered has been amazing! My favorite is the Californien (love the habanero mango hot sauce) with a side salad. They really don't skimp on the side salad, both in terms of size and toppings (figs, pears, pumpkin seeds, manchego, etc.) and the prices are reasonable too. The staff is so friendly as well. Cannot recommend this place enough!“
“One of the best wine bars in the city! Totally unpretentious, incredibly welcoming, and always a good time. The menu has a few changes regularly and there's ALWAYS a fantastic and varied wine selection. You can tell that every person who works here is passionate and loves what they do, one of the true gems of North Beach.Great spot for a romantic date in the evening, perfect place to chill with friends in the afternoon. Highly recommend the tastings - especially on Wednesdays! If you get a chance to take a class DO IT! You'll learn so much!“
“Hayes Pizza in San Francisco is nothing short of a pizza lover's dream come true. Situated conveniently close to the University of San Francisco, it has become my number one go-to spot whenever I crave that perfect slice. The pizza here is consistently top-notch, each bite bursting with flavor and crafted with care. But what sets Hayes Pizza apart isn't just their delectable pies, it's their service. The staff here are the epitome of friendly and hardworking. Every visit feels like I'm being welcomed by a group of old friends, which adds a layer of warmth to the entire experience. While the ambiance might be likened to a typical pizza joint, its charm lies in its simplicity. The space, although on the smaller side, is always spotless and radiates a cozy vibe that makes you want to linger just a bit longer. In summary, if you're in San Francisco and in search of a memorable pizza experience coupled with stellar service, look no further than Hayes Pizza. Can't wait for my next visit!“
“This was a real gem. Inside this cozy , authentic French bistro , get brought right to Paris! We enjoyed authentic dishes, extremely attentive and charming service , and had a lovely dinner pre- Cirque de Soleil at Oracle Park. Tasty dinner and impeccable service. I'll schlep from Oakland to come again and again . Truly great experience .“
“Super good diner experience in the city! Great countertop and small booths vibes, super friendly service and tasty food. I got the Irish breakfast, it was my first time trying Irish bacon and sausage, and it was super tasty. Funnily enough, it seemed like more people were getting breakfast than hamburgers here.“
“It was such a wonderful and enjoyable experience. Roger and the rest of the staff are incredibly loving and friendly. We could not have asked for a more memorable experience. Thank you so much for making us feel so loved and cared for!Ask for the sushi bar seats - you will not regret it! It is your very own omasake experience, but better because in addition to really good sushi, you get to enjoy Roger's company. Highly recommend the aged tuna, Norwegian mackerel, and Wagyu nigiri! Also, make sure to leave some room for their in-house ice cream and desserts!“
“Ordered the Shake your bahn bah sandwich which comes with a mixed salad, was well made and delicious. Bread was toasted beautifully! Also ordered the shrimp po-boy wrap, which also came with a mixed salad. Wrap was ok, should've substituted the wrap for bread as in the banh banh, would have been much tastier. The salad was great, really liked the house dressing.“
“Best sandwiches in San Francisco. The daily specials are my favorite. The flavor combinations are so creative and incredibly delicious. Their classic tomato soup is wonderful, and the perfect addition to any sandwich. Service is always friendly. I would order from them every day if I could.“
“The pizzas are always fresh, hot and delicious - it's my favourite in the area. The crust is thin and the toppings are really good. The staff are always polite and friendly and you can enjoy your pizza with a drink while watching a game on the TV's.“
“Unique salads, healthy ingredients and quite large portions. You should empty the container into a larger dish at home and stir the ingredients well.My favorite is the Vibrant salad, which has an outstandingly complex flavor mix. I still usually add the excellent lentil balls“
“4 stars for a blunt caprese salad. Otherwise, fantastic pizza (dough was godly), perfectly al dente salmon pasta, and appropriately creamy tiramisu. Ambience cute and great for a first date or otherwise. Certainly one of the best if not the best Italian pizza I’ve had in S.F. (equal or better to Montesacro and Berreta and certainly better than Tony’s overrated pizza). Overall, highly recommended but avoid the starters.“
“Can't find a better sandwich.Any other sandwich chain only scores 1 or 2 compared. The roast beef was tender, thinly sliced, the onion jam sauce so delectable, the bun was perfect. Been years since I've had a sandwich meal that surpassed the taste of Q's.It's an 11.“
“This is the place for a quick bite if your in the area. Fresh bread plenty of meat. I like turkey and ham together. This place is on point. There is not a lot of memorable eating spots I have in the bay but this is one of the few I really enjoyed“
“The chef here is one of the best person I’ve seen for a long time. The food is full of love. The portioning of the food is excellent along with the amazing contrasting of flavors. These are by far the best sandwiches we have had in a long while!“
“A great little gem in a bustling historic location. Great to sit at a little table in the plaza and watch the people and pigeons! Friendly and prompt service. Drip coffee was fresh and hot. High-lite was the tasty croissant breakfast sandwich. Made fresh on the spot and not reheated like most cafes. Lots of toppings and options - next time I’ll try a veggie bagel sandwich!“
“As a pizza connoisseur, when I heard about Roman style pizza, 'pinsa', with a different dough, I was immediately curious. As they note on their website, pinsa dough is made from a combination of soy flour, rice flour, and wheat flour, creating a crust that is light yet crunchy and satisfying. We ordered the Formaggio di Capra e Spinaci for some greens to go with, and then got the Quattro Formaggi and Prosciutto e Fichi for our pinsas.I find salads from pizza places to be very hit or miss; and Gusto Pinsa's salad was certainly a hit. The salad was perfectly dressed - it had a ton of flavor with the dressing, tomatoes, goat cheese, cranberries and walnuts coming together to provide an interesting textural contrast, with a nice hit of black pepper. The pinsas were the star of the meal though, as expected. Although I'm not the biggest fan of cheese only pizzas, the Quattro Formaggi was excellent! It was super cheesy and salty (in the perfect way), and the splotches of sauce provided nice balance to the saltiness of the cheese. The Prosciutto e Fichi was the preferred pinsa by myself and my partner, with the prosciutto and fig glaze providing a nice saltiness and sweetness that contrasted very well with the Quattro Formaggi. If you haven't tried Roman style pinsa yet, what are you waiting for? These pinsas were delicious and somehow felt much lighter than eating a regular pizza. We will be back!“
“No nonsense pizza shop serving great food with friendly service Picked up some pizzas here for my Girlfriend as she was overseeing her Students at a conference. We ordered 3 Large pizzas with one topping each. Pizzas were prepared very promptly (within 20 minutes) and were available for pick up. The pizza portions were huge - slices tasted really good too. Service was also very friendly - the staff let me wait inside for a ride as it was cold outside Would definitely order from here again, for larger groups or even just for myself 5/5“
“Loved this place! Will bring friends back.I love the variety of dishes they have (they have sooooo many seafood options for those who are pescatarian or eat halal)!!! It makes me so happy to find a Korean spot with so many seafood options. The lady (seems like owner) is so sweet and friendly!“
“I had the red garlic tonkatsu. It was delicious, with a decent amount of spice. The gyoza was fried, with a crisp bottom and a soft top. Also pretty much as good as you can ask for.My girlfriend had the tonkatsu and described it as, “very tasty”.Overall 5/5 for the price.“
“Ahi burger uses thick-cut raw food grade tuna, the surface is slightly seared and the inside is still raw. The crispy bread is sandwiched with fresh and sweet tuna. It is delicious when eaten directly!!The handmade milkshakes made using ancient methods are rich in flavor but not sticky. They are sweet but not overly sweet. They are the best milkshakes I have ever tasted.“
“I love Valencia Street restaurants, so this one has always been on my bucket list. Luckily, it did not disappoint! Super cute seating outside with the lights and solid pizza to satisfy a craving. As an appetizers, we got the butternut squash arancini ($13.50), which were unique to me with good flavor and texture. For pizzas, we shared the Burrata Red Pie ($24) and Clam White Pie ($24). I enjoyed the clam one more because it was more special and did a great job capturing the flavor. The pizzas are a bit pricey for the size, but I say that as someone from the east coast who has just never gotten used the pizza prices here. I still prefer some pizza spots in North Beach more, but I really enjoyed the different toppings and options here!“
“Really good bagels, not exactly NYC style, they're their own delicious thing. PRO TIP: preorder from his online shop in the week that leads up to skip the line.Highly recommend the trout rillete when he's doing sandwiches. The proprietor is also just a great guy and writes an amusing/heartfelt weekly newsletter about the tribulations of a baker.“
“Opa Cafe is my absolute favorite place to order delivery from. I order at least once a week and everything is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced! The salmon is delicious and cooked in a butter caper sauce (although you can ask for this on the side / omitted). The chicken kebabs and rotisserie chicken are also fantastic. The hummus is the best I've ever had and the platters with salad, hummus, rice, and a protein make a fantastic lunch. The owner of the cafe is extremely helpful and friendly and always a pleasure to interact with. Couldn't recommend Opa Market highly enough!“
“Great food and perfect level of service. We stopped by on new year's day between lunch and dinner time and they were mostly available. Within half an hour all the tables got filled and the place became vibrant! We tried the chicken dish with a side of teriyaki sauce (they don't have it on the menu, but they serve it if you ask), the ribeye steak dish, Ginza roll and the spicy maguro don. All dishes were excellent, I loved the ribeye pieces, very tender and good quality. The squid ink tobiko on the Ginza roll was very interesting and the sashimi rice bowl was fresh. The house salad was beautifully prepared and the sauce was amazing. Overall a great sushi place and we'll be back!“
“As the name implies, they have Proper Foods … large collection of salads and wraps. I was surprised at their variety for an airport shot. Enough seating area in its adjacency. I was going to remove one star because they don’t have different sugar packets and sweeteners which would be a basic expectation at places serving tea/coffee, only brown sugar and agave nectar. But then I realize they only serve proper foods, not the fake kinds. Back to five stars.“
“I had originally given them a one star review. Was contacted by Chris the owner with an apology for a reservation they canceled. They asked us for a second chance and we gave it them. They totally made good and we had a very pleasant evening.“
“This place is a local treasure. Affordable lunch deals with tasty and unique foods, this is one of my favorite go-to places in the area. The owner is always very kind and I have yet to try something on the menu I didn't like. Not only do they have great pizza, they have noodles and shish kabobs - which are again a personal favorite.“
“I picked up the Gotti sandwich today. The chef is definitely not shy with the food here. Sandwich was seasoned and super tasty I can't wait to come back and try another one. I finished half of it shared the other half of my friend and then ate his half wow great value. The staff is also fabulous which just rounds out the experience and makes me want to come back.“
“It is my first time to complain, I have always ordered food through Uber Eats and the presentation has been excellent and on 03/03/2024 I ordered dinner and it arrived so cold, a bad presentation, the taqueria-style food, I honestly did not like it, it always came better presented the lemon inside a bag so that the seeds do not come out, the food with something thermal so that it does not cool down quickly. And this time it was terrible, it was the worst delivery I received from the restaurant, I honestly felt very uncomfortable because it is not the first time We ordered food from Porto Fino ? and it wasn't the delivery person's fault because he arrived very quickly and was very efficient ?“
“This is a good lunch spot for FiDi. Sandwiches are $12.50-$14. Salads are $10-$11. Prices on their website are outdated. My sandwich , the LLB special $12.50 was roast beef, turkey, ham, swiss, provolone on dutch crunch, was alright. The New England Clam Chowder $8.50 was chunky and not filled all the way up. That tasted OK as well. Friendly service for a counter style restaurant. Kitchen was fast taking account they were busy. I was pretty full afterwards.“
“Great sandwich! Im a vegan so I saw a few comments on the meat quality and all I can say is maybe the roast beef could've been more tender but that's not always a restaurant issue... Otherwise! Great sandwich. Juicy. Filling. Excellent aiolo amount...yeah.“
“I had an incredible experience at this Thai restaurant! The food is authentically delicious, and the cozy ambiance creates a fantastic vibe. Each dish is not only comforting but also reasonably priced, offering generous portions. Highly recommend for an enjoyable dining experience!“
“I stopped by for takeout after a visit to the nearby medical building. Very convenient with no crowd to fight with. I ordered the pork belly bahn mi which was indeed delicious. It was a good authentic representatation of a modern bahn mi, but the star of the show was their Vietnamese chicken soup. Similar to Arroz Caldo (Filipino chicken soup) I actually enjoyed this version much more (and I am Filipino LOL). Yes, I would hella come back just for this! Highly recommended low key spot.“
“Came on a Tuesday night with the family. We're always on the hunt for high quality, good value sushi. Fish is very fresh, rice on rolls and nigiri were perfectly proportional to the fish (not a fan of places that pile on the rice). We took advantage of happy hour and ordered a wide variety to ensure a good sample size. Even ordered a dinner entree, which was excellent. This place made it on our family Approved Restaurant List (ARL), so we will definitely be back for future meals.“
“Been to Papa Mak's a few times before writing a review. Simply put for a fresh burger place, this is the spot. The first few burgers when asked for medium rare actually came out more on the rare side. So my last time there I asked for the mushroom burger cooked medium, which was actually more medium leaning slightly to the rare. So in my estimation asking for a medium will come out just fine. For taste, the meat is simply tasty. The mushrooms, cheese and the toppings are all good. The fries are very good and have a taste all to their own. I probably could have the bun toasted more but I'm just being picky here. I've eaten inside and taken food to go. Either way it was fine. The restaurant is simple, comfortable and basic. There is outdoor seating but the days I've been there, it was a bit too cold in the Sunset fog. I'll need to coordinate a nice day to enjoy the outside area. Overall, it is a very nice local neighborhood place. The owner and workers are friendly, efficient and not trying to upsell you. You get what you ask for and that's pretty much it. I've used the app to order and the app does not charge a use fee otherwise I'd use cash when ordering in person. For a small business, that can cut into the profits. Regardless, Papa Mac's is a great place for a great burger at a great price. Enjoy!“
“Everything was euphorically delicious. An explosion of aromas, spices, and flavors. We asked for extra spicy for the Lamb Vindaloo. They were not messing around. Once you take a bite, you are able to taste all the fragrant spices and wonderful flavors and then the spiciness creeps up and kicks you with that burn, but you can't stop eating. Instead of just one server, we had two very attentive and friendly servers. They were very efficient as well. Our order was taken quickly. The drinks arrived quickly. Our waters were always full throughout the evening. All the dishes came in a timely manner. Beautiful decorations with great artwork, cozy vibe loved it.I definitely recommend Yarsa Nepalese Cuisine and plan to bring all my friends here when we crave Indian Nepalese food.“
“my friend and i went here for the last breakfast on our vacation and we seriously loved it! my friend even said "if i lived here i'd eat here all the time." the food was fresh and well made, and the spicy mayo was just a kiss of spice, not hot at all, and very creamy. their coffee was expertly made, as i'm sitting here writing this my friend just said "that was a really good coffee i'm still thinking about it" the server was also very sweet and friendly! the shop is a little hard to find because they don't have "enter the cafe" branding, so it's best to just go by the address. but it's a cute little corner cafe, well decorated and clean but very small so exercise caution if you're a larger group. if you're visiting sanfran i highly recommend this place esp if you need a quick breakfast or drink between excursions!“
“I went there from El Salvador because I wanted to try the clam chowder here. The bread was so big and filling that I couldn't finish it all, so I got a bag to take home. The store had a nice atmosphere and the terrace was very comfortable. They also sold cute goods. Clam chowder was so delicious!“
“An actual gem of an eatery in SF. I hope only people who appreciate what hard working staff and owners do to make a plateful of ingredients into a most interesting and delicious meal - go here and eat - if they haven’t already. Love that it’s in a neighborhood - love that they have a dog - love that the staff are all pleasant - and love the food. Thank god for places like this - gives me hope.“
