“On my way to the Bayfair farmer’s market I saw a guy bbq out on the sidewalk today. After the market, I decided to stop and long behold I found this place! 😄. had the delicious “Thank Que bowl and lumpia”. So fresh, tasty and delicious! I will be back.....thank u Chef Rene!“

“Culinary Excellence was fabulous to work with when planning our 40th year Anniversary Gala. Jessica, Chris, and their entire bar and serving team were professional, very flexible, accommodating, kind, and easy to work with. Jessica and Chris were able to predict and fullfill needs we had at the last minute as they cropped up, without hesitation. The food, from the passed appetizers like the filo and chicken skewers, beautiful, light, and tasty salad, to their chicken breast, sweet potato, and brussel sprouts dish (as well as the yummy risotto) were delectable! Did I mention the gorgeous floral arrangements Jessica and her team created from pictures we sent her and which were visually stimulating - WOW! Thank you so much- you all helped make our special occasion memorable and remarkable! We had a blast working with you guys and look forward to working with you in the future! �“

“I had a fantastic experience with Dennis and the team from Liberation Foods. They catered my 120 person wedding and I could not have been happier with the food and the service that Dennis and his team provided. I would 100% recommend them and will personally use them again in the future. Dennis was highly communicative and extremely reliable. He responded to my emails and questions quickly which really stood out from many of the other vendors I was working with on the wedding who were much less responsive. The food was delicious, and I got a lot of comments from my guests (many of whom are foodies) on just how good the food was. The highlights of the menu were the butternut squash ravioli (possibly one of the top 10 dishes I have ever eaten), the prime rib carving station, the garlic mashed potatoes, and all the passed appetizers (we had mini wellingtons, short rib crostinis, and stuffed mushrooms). Dennis' food is full of flavor and really well presented. Even the simple garden salad had a tasty twist, with pickled onions and a vibrant vinaigrette. My only regrets were 1) the horseradish accompanying the prime rib was much too strong, and 2) the stuffed chicken breast came out a bit dry - hard to do that type of a dish at such high volume. But overall we loved everything, the service was great, and I felt it was very reasonably priced compared to other caterers that I had looked at.“

“Brian Catered a luncheon I had for the Oakland women’s rowing club. Serving 36 women, six of them being vegan, he crafter the absolute Perfect menu. Ceviche, sliders, a berry salad, mushroom empanadas as well as pulled pork, shrimp skewers, and a beautiful vegetable medley. Casual, yet elegantly displayed, the flavor of each dish was outstanding. I can hardly wait for his Montclair location to open. I couldn’t recommend Cafe 15 more adamantly.“

“Sunnyside catered the brunch for our wedding weekend (60+ people) to our backyard in Oakland and I’m so glad they did. The ordering process was super easy, they even offered a chaffing dishes for a small fee and set up/pick up, and Ben was great to work with.The food and coffee was really delicious! The eggs were just right, the cheddar cheese biscuits were addictive, and Ben even threw in some pork belly as an extra — it was all so good! I love that we have such a high quality and professional local catering option right here in Oakland - highly recommended!“
“We used the JLC team for our wedding this Fall and they were beyond incredible!! We hosted 165 people at a family home, so there were plenty of quirks that the team had to work around-- cooking for a large group with a satellite kitchen, hosting cocktail hour at a barn on the backside of the property that required a long carry, etc. and they were beyond exceptional in every way. Everything from the menu creation, to the thoughtfulness in working with us to create our perfect specialty cocktails, to the professionalism and proficiency of the bar staff, to the gorgeous dinner service and late night chocolate chip cookies and was expertly executed, beautiful and delicious! We still have people telling us that it was not only the best wedding food they've ever eaten, but one of the most enjoyable meals they've ever had. We're beyond grateful for the attention to detail and care that the team put into our special day and I can't recommend working with the JLC team more!!“
“Perhaps I shouldn't be reviewing but I could not help but notice the photo of the spoon and assuming this is a passed hors d'oeuvre.I do realize that this is a trend amongst certain catering companies. It's an old idea and one that is even worse than the oversized apps of years past.But... Loaded spoons? At an event? Really?Why? Do you REALLY want to offer such items at, say, a wedding to a Bride or guest wearing their absolute finest?No. Wrong. This is one of the worst offenses that any full service caterer can do at ANY event, certainly an upscale or special event. I hope this was a special request and not the norm as it is a terrible idea.Likey this is a great company but this sort of carelessness is bothersome and I feel compelled to warn clients to reject having items passed that are extremely likely to cause a guest to have his/her clothing stained or slopped on by someone's poor judgement.I don't, however, fault the company so much... considering such ridiculousness is not too uncommon amongst catering companies. I am just posting this to bring this to the attention of prospective clients so that they are aware and will select something that is not so inappropriate. In fact, this was once a common trend that was short-lived once the major downside was realized. As a general guideline, Hors D'Oeuvres should follow the "one bite"rule. The goal being to have a greeting, to showcase and to offer a tasty bite. The meal follows later. You don't want to begin an event by having a guest wearing food before the event really begins.Just sayin'... You've been advised.“

They also have extremely affordable prices considering how high quality the food/drinks were. If you need a catering company for the general area they are the best!“

“Crumble & Whisk was amazing to work with and has DELICIOUS and AMAZING cheesecakes!!! ORDER FROM THEM NOW! I live in Florida and my best friend lives in Oakland, California. Every year I buy him a cheesecake for his birthday since we've known each other. The owner/chef Charles Farrier was amazing to work with and super accomodating! I was able to order and get the Cheesecake delivered to my friend as a surprise for his Birthday. I called several places in Oakland, California and the surrounding area trying to get him a cheesecake for his birthday and Charles was the only one willing to make it happen. My best friend was so surprised by it. My friend was so surprised by how big thick and heavy the cheesecake was. He said it was one of the most creamiest, thick, and mouth watering cheesecake he has ever tasted before. And I have bought him a cheesecake for years from many different places. I can't wait to go visit him in California to try one of Charles cheesecakes. I will be ordering him cheesecake from Charles and Crumble & Whisk exclusively moving forward! I also saw that they are a black owned business which is amazing. #SupportBlackBusiness“

“We’ve got two pour over - Ethiopia and Rwanda. Both had a slightly acidic taste and delicious! The pastry, cinnamon bun, was so good. Soft and not overly sweet. Very tasty. It felt like European-style bread. Despite only two seats available, we still enjoyed our coffee on site. Staff was very friendly.“
