“Food is always fresh and delicious. Portion sizes are substantially filing for a taco and they do have unique offerings every now and then on tacos like egg, broccoli, etc! Both indoor and outdoor dining options are available and the vibe is very laid back. Service is quick but lines can quickly form during odd hours too.“
“It was nice sitting there in the open with my husband having lunch. The food is delicious the empanadas. Great, I didn't try the tamales, but I'll be back. We will be back. The girls they're are very friendly staff courteous.“
“This is a great spot for late night eats! The are open past 10pm, take Venmo or cash and are little pricey, but definitely worth it! You purchase inside the gate under the tent, then take your ticket to the food truck window. I got 5 tacos and a Pepino Agua Fresca and spent around $30. They did forget one of my tacos, so I had to go back for it, but they gladly made me very quickly and I was a happy camper. I got green sauce on mine and ate every single one of them. They were so delicious! There's lots of lights around the area and plenty of parking behind the truck, and in front of it. I can't wait to go back and try the burrito quesadilla and birria!“
“The best damn tacos in Oakland, full stop. Usually carne asada is a throwaway order, bland cardboard for white people (like me) who don't know anything about Mexican food (fortunately not like me). Not here. A friend who used to be a Michelin star chef proclaimed this the best carne asada he'd had outside of Mexico, and I agree wholeheartedly. And that's not where the show stops. Super legit pastor, fire fish tacos, solid vegetarian options, and don't skip the specials--I have yet to be let down. The brisket barbacoa especially is one of my top three tacos I've had in my entire life. Get the handmade flour tortillas, it's worth the extra money. And did I mention unlimited guacamole? Show me another place with unlimited guacamole. Not to mention the otherworldly salsa matcha. Don't sleep on this spot.“
“They call them red tacos because some people can't say birria, but this is the best birria in the bay imo. Haven't found anyone else that's even close. The service is quick, they are friendly and now have a semi permanent home at a brewery. Overall fantastic.“
“This place is a winner. I've had several burritos (carne asada, al pastor, and pollo) and tortas (pollo both times), and they were all excellent. Not dry, tons of everything, large portions, not over-priced. I hope these people can stick around. Support them!“
“The best al pastor tacos in the bay. The service is excellent and the prices are very affordable.Any Mexican restaurant sells pastor but it is pure grilled enchilada meat with a very bad flavor. This taqueria has been the best I have found since I left Mexico ♥️“
“One word to describe this place "WOW." The food was honestly beyond our expectations. We were looking for something near by to eat and we came across Pipirin. The order was ready within minutes from ordering. We order tortas and tacos of pierna, carnitas, birria and Lengua all meats where so good to say the least. This is a must try.“
“The food was very good, my partner and I stopped here before going to see a movie at the Regal Jack London and couldn't have been happier. We ordered one california burrito and split it and with the chips that come on the side it was enough food for both of us. Overall it is pretty cheap too, especially considering its location in the downtown area. Would highly recommend for a quick pickup and go or a dine in/date night.“
“This place is a weekend go to! I like the Camaron taco most, and the Pollo tacos are really good too. I’ve tried nearly all the vegan tacos in Oakland, and this is my favorite by far.Heart and dagger is around the corner, and they let you bring in food, so that’s a nice option, or the live music at the farmer’s market Saturday afternoons.“
“This taco truck is definitely built off of love. Their meats are proper and this is definitely a place I'd even wanna work at. These guys know what their doing , and so when you come here, please pay it forward to these men, drop a couple dollars in the "VIP SERVICE" Tip jar .... You won't regret it(:“
“Thad a fantastic experience at Alma Bar Cocina in Oakland. Their tacos are packed with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. The owner makes you feel like a regular. Definitely try the fish tacos and the soup both were incredibly flavorful!“
“One of the best tacos I've had... tortilla was a little crispy soo good the meat well seasoned... I was at the White Elephant sale yesterday and after doing some shopping my mother and I got a bit hungry we decided to try this taco truck and buy some tacos, it did not disappoint... whenever I come to Oakland again and I get hungry I'll be sure to look them up again...“
“My family regularly orders take out and the food is great and consistent. The sandwiches are particularly good (Lenchon and Cuban are go tos), plus the guac and drinks. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is super cute and the food is always quick which is a huge plus!“
“Felt like I was back in the motherland (Mexico). The dark, sketchy street just adds to the atmosphere. This place takes zelle if you don't have cash. The tacos are 3 bucks a pop, and they fill them fat. Best dang taco I've had in a while.“
“If you ready for a fingerlicious experience,You need to come here!!Parking: Is behind the building , a lots of spaces but a bit difficult to get inKid-friendliness: Outdoor and clean space so kids can be kidsWheelchair accessibility: Access big on the street side is plenty of room ?“
“A few people in line ahead of me when arrived. My friend and I had looked at the menu and photos on Yelp ahead of time and honestly it didn't help. There were so many delicious looking items. Person at the window took my order, was super clear and precise. It took a bit of time to get our order. There were probably 6 orders ahead of ours, and it took maybe 10 minutes? It felt longer because it was cold outside lol thankfully there are tables. It wasn't loud, patrons are decently quiet. Just normal East Oakland traffic sounds. Everything I ordered was delicious. The asada and birria tacos, and the sope. Will definitely be returning to try other items. Especially the burrito. That looked real good.“
“My goto when I go to this truck is a regular steak burrito with everything, it comes out to about $11 even with chips and salsa... and it's probably the best burrito in Oakland in terms of flavor and juiciness, you can tell they spend time to add layers of flavor and this is coming from a self proclaimed burrito connoisseur. Service is nice everyone is friendly and quick waiting times and that's great for a family owned ambiance. The best way to describe the food is comfort food, it's like a home cooked meal. They really put the time into their food and I recommend the steak burrito with everything but that's just me. This in my opinion is the best burrito in Oakland and I've tried all the known taqueria's in West Oakland, downtown Oakland, Lake Merritt area“
“I've been driving past this amazing kitchen on wheels for the past yr and never have I bothered to stop & look. This ain't just a taco truck, they do breakfasts, burgers & birria. What more can you ask for. Run by nice folks. I'll definitely be back.“
“For sure my favorite taco truck in Oakland. Not does it taste really good, they are nicely priced with loads of meat. They are also generous on veggies, garnish and sauces, and always happy to give me another bag or two when I asked. Call ahead and your tacos will be ready within 10 minutes. My favorites are steak and chicken.“
“I worked the AV Fair and had their tacos on two separate occasions. Meats were juicy and tender, salsas were flavorful and spicy and my favorite part was the finely chopped onion and cilantro. If only I lived closer I would be able to have their food more often.“
“We love Degrees Plato! My family and I are there weekly with friends from the neighborhood and our kids. Great beer, great service, and food is consistently good - my fav is the chicken sandwich! Grab a table at the outdoor patio or a spot inside. Inside can get echoey which may be too loud for some patrons. They also have an amazing selection of beer for purchase - even if you can't hang out stop by to grab a 6-pack or two of local Bay Area beer. Great selection of non alcoholic options for your pregnant or non-drinking friends!“
“My son and I came here two times during our visit to catch some baseball in San Fran and Oakland. Don't let the area distract you. It is heavy industrial and is fairly safe and the food here is exceptional and some of the best tacos I have ever had. For 10 to 12 bucks a person you walk out of here very full and can't complain a bit.“
“I've been here a couple of times now, and each time the food has been consistently delicious! From the tacos to the burritos and most definitely their steak fries! Everything was so flavorful, especially the steak fries. The service was also impeccable each time I've been here! It's a new gem to the community.“
“Once I tried this place I got f****** hooked Las salsas ni se digan every sauce they give you is so f****** good they add hella meat to your food they give you your money's worth and more, highly recommend this spot. When I was pregnant los primos was all I craved My daughter is know a 1year and 8 months and she loves the tacos.“
“Caught them off W Grand and had to stop by. I've seen the truck everywhere but haven't had a chance to try. I ordered the Chile Relleno Torta and wow! I never thought to make it a sandwich but man was it good! The chile relleno was nicely seasoned and crisp. They had some additional toppings inside the toasted bread, as well as, a consommé on the side. I was in a rush so I just dunked the torta straight in and ate it that way. Brilliant flavors, generous portions and quick service. They didn't have drinks which was a slight bummer. Next time, I'll ask that the torta be cut in half and ask for some side jalapeños and cebollita to round off the flavorful tastes. Wi come back again.“
“@ the Barbara lady - do you think the other vendors you mentioned don't use can beans - com'on get a grip! $15 is nothing compared to the great taste, customer service and the quality. The Burritos are delicious - Super Burrito's (2 meals in one) they are not street tacos by any stretch. Leave it to people like you who try to hurt small businesses with your negative vibes. We wish you well!“
“Burrito de asada: I Love that meat is not too fatty, it has a bit of kick in it, great balance of meat, beans, rice, cream, onions and flavor overall. The two times I’ve gone there have been to change my tires at Ortiz and every time I’m like yes if I am ever there I will grab a bite.Horchata: not too sweet my kind of refreshmentParking: Taco truck is located in the same area as Ortiz tires there is about 4-5 slots for parking. If you wish to sit they do have a picnic bench available.“
“Went here based on a review on the Lakeside FB page picture. Ordered the, cannot spell and dont feel like looking up, fried pork bites (maybe belly). Unfortunately, ours were way over fried. Very dark brown and a hard chew. If not over cooked; would be awesome! We ate a couple but left the rest. The place is small and very clean. Very nice staff. Real coke, in the bottle, with a cup of ice. Cane sugar... it is different, if you didn't know. Therefore, no refills here. Also, you do not get free chips and salsa just for sitting at a table. You will pay about 5.00 for chips and salsa, you want cheese dip? Another 5.00. Fine. Do you want authentic flavor? (My opinion) Shed your Americanized view of hispanic foods. Look at the menu, you get the chance to eat things that you've only seen on the Food Network or if you were in an hispanic country. We also had a taco salad. Lovely and crispy. The bottom layer was some hot red sauce (both in heat and nicely spiced - so delish, not killer) - rice, shredded cheese, steak bits (chix or shrimp is also an option) iceberg lettuce (not uniformly shredded), guac, sour cream, few diced tomatoes and a bit more shredded cheese (mostly yellow - assume cheddar but to little to tell)Bottom line. The taco salad was awesome - get a fork-ful of it all. All of the flavors blended. We loved that the steak was charred but still tender. Tiny diced bites of diced steak, but it was good! We would have like a medium cook, yet charred - but even fully cooked, they know how to slice the steak, so it was not chewy. After you eat here.... Go a couple doors down for the in-house made ice cream. Try the pine nut "pinion' - or any that strikes your fancy. Put it on your list.“
“You can find the taco panzon most days at the intersection of Campbell and grand from 12:15 pm. This food truck is amazing. Really. The entire ambiance, the crew that frequents it; it is a community you want to be a part of. They have two chairs you can sit on and gulf down some tacos and be on your way. Not somewhere to sit and dine but for a quick pick me up it is highly recommended. Food quality is too notch, pickled jalapeños and zuccini and generous avocado portions with the taco orders when you ask for everything on em. Can't hype it enough! But don't expect to wine and dine, it's a food truck.“
