“We ordered fish tacos and tamales. They were very well prepared. Our server was a very sweet man who was attentive enough. There was ‘no beer’. Let’s go over that again: there were four beers on the menu and none of them were available to be served. The inside dining room was modern: an open kitchen, loud music, patrons screaming at each other over the loud music.

We will likely go back. The food was great. The Paloma looks great. And we now know how to manage a visit. Which lead me to a thought.

“Funky little spot near Oakland Chinatown. Large portions and reasonable prices.
I tried the fried catfish sandwich and was absolutely floored at how much food they gave me! Literally could not fit the whole thing in my mouth and had to eat half of the ingredients with a fork before picking it back up (this is a good problem to have, lol.)

The breading for the fish is cornmeal style, which reminded me a lot of Cajun food in Eastern Texas/Louisiana. I do wish there had been a bit more kick to the flavor, but they serve the food with a bottle of buffalo sauce which does the trick.

The house-made potato chips rock. Super, super well seasoned.

Parking: Like most of the area, there’s primarily street parking. I didn’t have any issue finding a spot within a block on a Sunday afternoon.“

“I love their food and service. The tamales and excellent and the masa is always fresh and delicious. Sometimes they have daily specials which are also delicious such as tacos dorados and eliotes in a cup. Yum.

I don’t eat pork so the owner makes the masa with oil instead of lard, if I place a minimum order. Thanks Sergio for accommodating my diet restrictions.“

The best birria taco I’ve ever had (I wish I got like 5 more), and the horchata tasted super distinct and was great as well. There’s a little parking lot on the side too and an eating area in front of the truck. Ugh but yeah the birria taco is insane.“

“Love this place, the food is fantastic, very much a taqueria. The Cameron’s taco are fantastic. Everyone that works there are really friendly, you can tell they like it there because it is the same faces.

They moved in and painted the place bright pink. They replaced another favorite that was not able to survive COVID.

If you get take out, check you got your chips, they love to leave those out of your bag. 5 stars if not for the many bags of missing chips.“

Everything was super fresh, and the vegis had lots of crunch. The beans were absolutely terrific! The young woman taking orders was new and a little unfamiliar with the input, but it was not a big deal at all.I will definitely be going back to eat my way through the menu!

I always get the grilled chicken supe burrito with everything and make it wet! The enchilada sauce it on hit and tasted the same way since the day they opened! They are only open til 4:30p so go before they close! Absolutely amazing!“
