“I had a Ratatoullie moment when I ate here, and I am Asian. There is not a drop of latin blood in my body, but when I bit into the al pastor super burrito I legit shed a tear. This place is just as good as, if not better than, the best foods I ate across Mexico.“

“This is a classic place that I hadn’t been to since I was in college. It hasn’t changed a bit. The decor is really cool and the food is very good. Prices are a little bit high, considering what you get. Service was good, but not great. I was surprised at how long it took for the food to get there. The servers and staff were very nice. The place is a bit off the beaten path, but if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out.“

“Taqueria Talavera was good! I’m a burrito person and decided to try a different type of burrito instead of my regular carne asada. I decided to go with the specialty Mole burrito and it was spicy and flavorful, I was shocked how good it was. They had music playing also, so while you wait for your food you can could enjoy the music. The service was fast and efficient although I showed up close to closing time, I would for sure eat here again.“

“My go-to spot when I want fresh, solid food!! 🌯 Great portions on the burritos — and the one in the picture is just the regular size… imagine the upgraded burrito 👀🔥
I’m always trying something new there and it’s always worth it. Super friendly staff!!
Cons: the chicken can be a little dry/tough sometimes… and maybe throw in a few more chips plzzzz 🫣🫣“

“Found this place years ago and it quickly became a favorite. When I first discovered it, it was hands down the best food at an amazing price. Now you kinda get what you pay for prices have climbed quite a bit but the food is really good.
Check out the mole plate, if you like mole it's the best around.“

“Ordered carne asada special/super burrito. Order was ready fast even at lunch. It was delicious and well-proportioned. It’s not as big as burritos have been trending lately but the price was right and I was barely able to finish it. Can’t wait to go back!“

“great location great people it's pretty sad I guess they're closing down but this is what Gavin do something😩wants close down all the family restaurants and replace them with boba tea and other hot dog bacon-wrapped make you sick food vendors that don't pay taxes or have legal right to be in this country, instead of good family restaurants that want to support their local community, pay taxes, and feed the neighbors, this is Gavin newsom's legacy close down all the family restaurants, these people are great, great service great food they're still open, if you want great authentic food come on down while you still can“

“OKAY. SERIOUSLY. THE SALAD. the ingredients are SO FRESH! and they pile it IN! Everything in my bowl is brightly colored. (Have you ever gotten a salad and the lettuce is white and it's like two things in there and disappointing?) SHOUTOUT TO THE CHEFS. 🤌🏻“

“Got the carne asada nachos, and horchata. The horchata was delicious and one of the best I’ve had in a while. Not to sweet at all. The nachos were good, I think it would be beneficial to ask for extra meet. The staff was super friendly. I’ll be back!“
“The food is hella good and the prices are kind of reasonable and affordable not like the other taco places where everything is hella expensive and you don't get hooked up like this place big burritos with everything on it.. I always get my burritos with out rice that way u get more meat than rice.“
“I eat there about once a month! I love their food and atmosphere! Catherine Wildermuth“
“A decent neighborhood place. At Ashby and Sacramento street intersections. Decent quality but the meat could be better as it tasted pre cooked. The people are really nice and try to please. Being able to eat in is a plus. I will return. Breakfast burritos are big and filling. Comparable to anything in Berkeley . The prices are fair. The red salsa is very good. Very very nice people.“

“The ladies who were working there today were really nice. I had a beef taco and it was very good. Spicy as we love it! It came with jalapeño, grilled onions and lime. I ate it at home with rice and salad, cucumber (picture with the plate). But the take away is well done, in a box and covered by foil paper.“

“The rolled taco where delicious I would have given 5 stars but the crispy beef taco is majorly lacking meat! I am from SD and this is the closest thing I can find in the bay that serves southern california style mexican food. I will definitely be going back to try out a few more things“

“I got the (veggie) burrito and agua fresca (horchata) combo for ~$17. It was pretty good! I was ravenous and it was successfully satiating. I really appreciated the little bundle of pickled carrots, radishes, and lemon wedge they covered in tin foil to go along with the burrito. They get bonus pts for that! The horchata was a bit sweet for my taste but still enjoyable.
The inside of the store is small and the music is loud, making it a bad spot to sit and talk with a friend so I recommend walking to berkeley campus to sit on grass or a bench with your food. There’re reusable plastic cups for water but it tasted like there was still some soap on the cup.“

“We have felt lucky to live within walking distance of Casa Latina. Tonight I put in a phone order, as I have many times and the order was taken carelessly and messed up (Baja fish taco, not fish taco), so when I got home, I had to drive back up and have the meal remade, and then it was just not good. Tortillas were weirdly dry and the fish was overcooked (like, fried to the color of coffee grounds). A great neighborhood place on Fridays, will probably skip it on Mondays.“

“I'll tell you...the Tacos El Rey Food Truck is a great stop for lunch! I had to wait a while to pick up my custom made Harpoon heads from the Iron Works place so I walked over to the El Rey taco truck, and got a couple of chicken tacos grande, and they were amazing! The flavors and textures were deliciously authentic! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆“

“The burritos here are some of the most flavorful and rich ones I’ve ever had. The carnitas are crispy and delicious. The shrimp burrito has just as much flavor but is a little lighter. One of the delicious things about this burrito is the inclusion of sour cream in the regular— the difference between regular and super burrito is just the size, not ingredients, so you can get all of the amazing flavor in a smaller size! The pricing is a little inconsistent— it would be good if they updated their menu so that it reflected their charges. There’s a dollar different here and there.“
