Restaurantji unveils El Cerrito's must-visit Mexican dining spots.
“Ok, I have to agree with the other reviews. Some of the best food from a food truck. We ordered a carnitas regular burrito, fish super burrito and steak fries. Steak fries had a good amount of steak and the fries were not soggy. Surprisingly both burritos had a good amount of meat and fish. The only difference between a regular and super is that the super has guac. The service was quick. We didn't eat at their patio, we took our food to go. But their seating area was nice for an outdoor space. Definitely going back again.“
“I went to los Banos for brunch, and it was delightful. They have cafe de olla, which was amazing. They had all types of moles but the meat that was the best was the Cochinita, so flavorful and tender. I just wish I would’ve had the live music to go with this amazing food. Definitely coming back.“
“Holy moly. Tasty local burrito spot.I've had their Galbi and spicy pork (Korean food) burritos, regular/super burritos, plates, and picture here the ground beef Enchiladas with extra sour cream.Definitely hits the spot. They always give you tons of food, so I take chips and salsa home for later too.Since discovering this place, I order from here regularly now.“
“my go-to burrito place. Always friendly service. I like my burritos very spicy, and la estrella is one of the few places that will go as heavy on the habanero as I like. Super fast if you order over the phone, too. I mostly eat vegetarian and they make a very good veggie burrito. The fish is good, too.“
“On a scale of 1 to 10, Food exceeded expectations and would have been a 13 and a half. But can't breathe that way, so I'll give it a solid 10. Drive thru Hispanic faire, didn't think it would be so great. Service was a little awkward, teen gal was acting like a teen gal, but talking about customers to ones coworkers was a bit on the rude side. It was very obvious with her pointing and turning away suddenly when she realized we were within ear's shot. Now aside from that. Thank for the wonderful meal. K&J J.“
“What a gem! Small but quaint cafe. Full bar, a couple TVs in the bar. Came in for breakfast, and it did not disappoint! Bree was a server. She was super attentive and took good care of us. The Summit breakfast was really good. Biscuits were fresh, gravy had amazing flavor. Eggs were cooked as ordered, and hashbrowns were tasty. Good size portions so you could share. We also ordered the kids' French toast with bacon. Food came out piping hot and flavorful. On the weekends, they have Menudo and Eggs Benedict. They offer a great variety, Chilaquiles, machaca, and breakfast burritos. As I previously said, the place is small, so you may have a little wait, it's so worth it! Highly recommend, and this is now one of our favorite places.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu has breakfast and lunch.“
