We've rounded up El Sobrante's top Mexican spots for you to try.
“The Salvadorian / Mexican provides home cooking type dishes for an affordable price. It has a decent selection which includes seafoods steaks and chickens, however sometimes the meats come out a little dry. However if you stick to their specialties of pupusas and other Niche dishes then you should be in the clear for a good meal at a good price.“

“Very good street taco spot. The steak is seasoned perfectly. I also really like their steak torta. I make sure I always ask for the pickled carrots and jalapeños. Their green salsa is the best. Service is always pretty fast. Location is nestled right off san pablo Dam rd right on appian way. Don't sleep on their burritos. Extra onions and cilantro are a must.“
“Just dropped off Tam Boreenman off at The Happy Ending House of Asian Flavors there on Tennessee street, he asked if I could pick him up in 10 minutes....10 minutes! I told him he can just walk over to the La Pinata Taqueria, where I'll be enjoying some Tacos de Canasta, they're the best in Vallejo! Especially the potato and the frejoli tacos. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆“
“Great Mexican brunch place. I've been here several times, and have had the chilaquiles, blueberry pancakes, chorizo scrambled eggs, breakfast tacos, and breakfast burrito. All were exceptional. Friendly service, low key atmosphere. I will be back again -- and again.Vegetarian options: Veggie hash; pancakes; waffles“
“HUGE patio. great for gatherings. They even have a large indoor area for cold or rainy weather. Bring your friends and family. The food here doesn’t disappoint. They’re always friendly when I stop by and make a point to give excellent service. One they put meat in my veggie (ONCE!) and they remade it and insisted I grab a soda on them. It’s super cute, a few blocks from strawberry creek park, next to the liquor store if you prefer a beer. They’re also on apps for delivery or pickup, no phone orders but that’s okay. I also appreciate that they’re open very late. When I get the craving for their rice I know I’ll have it soon!Vegetarian options: No substitutions but delicious as is without meat!Parking: free parking after 6pmKid-friendliness: Lots of space far from street to run around and play“
“First time here and they have bottomless mimosas until 3pm. You only pay $29.99 per person and get to play table golf and miniature golf. The place was packed and definitely good vibes! I ordered the Burria Tacos, they are good! The staff was friendly. The loves their food menu. Felt like it was versatile and prices are great! Bring your friends or the family and have a great time. There were kids there too! I recommend this place for sure!“
“My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! Impeccable dishes with rich flavor and high quality ingredients, amazing cocktails, fantastic service, and a lovely interior with a couple of outdoor tables for sunny days. My favorites are the green enchiladas, chicken mole, and plantains - but everything we’ve had here has been incredible. I’m always shocked by how uncrowded this place is - people are seriously missing out!“
“I ordered a quesabirria taco and a burrito from here recently. The quesabirria was $5 for one that came with cucumber slices, one roasted jalapeno and one small cup of birria. It was amazing!! Really hit the spot in terms of flavor. The burrito on the other hand was good not great. It had a way too thick of a flour wrap around the burrito. I felt like I was eating a 30% flour wrap and only 70% filling. Otherwise, it was a good flavored burrito. I'll be back if I'm ever in the neighborhood for the quesabirria.“
“This is a Mexican restaurant Located at el Sobrante and this environment is very clean and the employees are very nice and they have a good amount of pictures inside of their restaurant. The bathroom is also clean and the tables are nice wooden finish. They have a note saying that to throw your trash away after you eat they also have outdoor tables with plants around they also have a seat. that looks really good and they have machines that give out candies and stuff so their holding is really decorated. Their chairs are also good. They have lights around the building. The food is also very good. They keep it hot and they give you numbers which they call out and you go get, your food which is little they also give you small packets of chips and salsa, but for more you have to pay extra salsa, they have green, red and mango and chunky. They all are good. So definitely recommend this place.Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options“
