Masa Taqueria offers excellent food with big portions and great value, though service can be inconsistent. The food quality is superb, reminding customers of abuela, with homemade corn tortillas that show love in every ingredient. Must-try items include the combo plate with carne asada (described as "FIREEEEEEE!"), tamales that are uniformly excellent, Baja style fish/shrimp tacos and burritos that are awesome, incredible quesabirria, and hella good crispy tacos (always a special, not available online). The green cucumber melon drink is great with a tequila shot. However, the esquites is watery canned corn with bland toppings—skip it, and the ceviche is watery flavorless fish with no citrus flavor—also skip. Service is very mid and extremely inconsistent; the restaurant hires very young people who lack customer service skills, and the ordering process is chaotic with different menus online, in-store kiosks, and face-to-face. The drive thru causes long waits and inconsistent orders. Despite these frustrations, the food is worth it—especially the Baja style fish burrito. Seating can be limited during busy nights, but other times are mellow with friendly, quick service. Customers can sit outside with their dogs, and the restaurant also caters.
