The service was also very friendly, and overall we had a great experience. We would definitely come back. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait because this place is popular. we went on a Monday evening and it was still quite busy. Parking can be tough too. Definitely worth the wait!”

“We went there for dinner and it was quite day but the food and the service was sooo goood. She was so friendly and kind. We loved it there. The atmosphere is so nice and it’s so clean too. They had a picture on the wall that made us feel as if we were in China and the plants just made it even better.

And now Sansaar Books is going to be opening a few steps away. Fairmont is a wonderful street with great local businesses. And i got a pair of earrings and two tanks that have a flattering shape! So nice.”

It was a hearty crumb kind of reminded me of a sweet cornbread. I don't know if there's any corn used in the making of the cake though. delicious! Raspberry buttercream on top or in the center as I like to eat my cupcakes. I wouldn't get the biscotti again but maybe if they dipped them in chocolate :-) I'm so pleased I live close to a gluten-free bakery! They had several GF offerings when I went there”

“I love their buttermilk waffle, crisp on the outside, soft in the inside. So good. With an egg and two slices of bacon on the side and it's the perfect diner breakfast. The service the three times I've been here in the last three weeks has been so kind and thoughtful. The atmosphere is casual but warm and lovely. My only complaint is the clanging dishes which interrupt the soundscape; hanging a few flags over where they do the dishes would help to absorb that noise. I always also get some pastries to take home: cheese puffs, brownies, chocolate chip cookies and the pies are all phenomenal. I tried to only eat a bit of the brownie, but it was so good I couldn't stop inhaling it. A Berkeley/ El Cerrito treasure for those who love baked goods”

“Just finished a wonderful family dinner here. Had a mix of dishes each were well-spiced and cooked perfectly. The naan was buttery soft and the garlic was freshly chopped. The restaurant was extremely clean and well-lit and the service was attentive and kind. We left with full bellies as I couldn’t stop eating one more taste and with the generous portions we have some leftovers for tomorrow I am already looking forward too! Can’t wait to try more of their dishes!”

“This place is so worth it. My family has been going for 10+ years, almost since the beginning of the restaurant when it was in a different location. Aki-San will tell you when you’re eating something wrong, but it’s not mean-spirited. You should definitely ask him about his life and his journey to becoming a sushi chef. The sushi is the best you will ever have, even better than sushi I had when I visited Japan. It may be very expensive, but if you have the means it is extremely worth the price. Don’t ask for specific things, get what he recommends (but don’t be scared if you have diet restrictions to ask for something that works). Is is an amazing experience so if you go really enjoy it.”

“Lama bar is the best local bar around! It’s the perfect place to watch the world cup with multiple Tvs inside and a big screen tv on the outdoor patio, so you never miss a game. “Swinging for the fences with dozens of local and regional sandwich combinations, many named after local sports heroes, Ike's Love & sandwiches has rocketed to the top of my favorite sandwich shops in the Bay Area, and I usually do not patronize chains, but this is something different. Super fresh ingredients really nice staff, clean and safe locations, and absolutely delicious sandwich combos make Ike's sandwiches the number one in the Bay Area in this humble reviewers opinion. But then I'm just somebody who has reviewed 5,000 places. LOL. Highly recommended, and bring the kids and family, and enjoy a Madison, or a pastrami charmed Life. You will not regret this decision.”

“I ordered using Uber Eats.
We ordered Lemon Chicken, Chicken Katsu & Masubi and one other item. I clicked yes to include utensils and napkins and I even added in the notes please include utensils, chopsticks and napkins.
Since I am staying at a hotel these were needed. The hotel had no picnicware so my son and I walked to the store down the street to buy some. Got back to cold food that wasn’t in containers that could NOT be heated in the microwave and discovered they didn’t include soy sauce.
The Mac salad was perfect. The rice definitely needed soy sauce. The flavor of the lemon chicken was great even though it was room temp. The katsu lost its texture in the time it Took to get utensil unfortunately.
I’m not trying to be petty over utensil but it really made for an unfortunate experience.”

“This is my favorite sandwich shop in the area. At least once a week or sometimes every other week, I get sandwiches here from me and my dad. We both love the sandwiches, especially the chocolate chip cookies. The staff is pretty friendly, nice and welcoming. I've never had an issue with my orders and have always been satisfied with everything.”
