“I come here almost every week, it's my go-to for filling and fulfilling Korean food. I usually get bulgogi and japchae, although I've tried most of the menu at one point or another and can say it's all very high quality, especially their fried chicken. The side dishes are also fantastic. The staff here are also really lovely and attentive and will refill the side dishes if you ask. I love coming here and highly recommend this place!“

The roasted cauliflower with red beet tahini, broccoli with chimichurri and toasted garlic, and sweet potato with chimichurri were all delicious!

The whole rotisserie chicken was just OK. It was a little dry and not very seasoned on its own. It came with two sauces, and I chose the chimichurri and chipotle yogurt. The sauces definitely made the chicken much better, but I wouldn’t want to eat the chicken by itself.“

“I haven’t been to a Luke’s in many years, and now I feel like I’ve wasted so much time. I absolutely love lobster rolls and this experience topped any recent ones I’ve tried. They offer three different sizes, so you can gorge on as much or as little as you want. I appreciate that the lobster meat is as close to the original form as can be…there was a small claw on my roll. I prefer this to the chopped up lobster salads where it may not all be lobster. And I always remember the celery seasoning on top. It’s unique and delicious. The bread roll was amazing, and the meal includes a bag of chips and a drink, as well as pickles. Truly one of the most delicious I’ve had in a long time. I won’t wait to go back to Luke’s when I’m craving a lobster rolls.“

“One of my favorite restaurants in the city and the best Peking Duck I've ever had... every, anywhere. The host is amazing and all the servers are cool and super nice. If you can, seat near the chef that's cutting up the duck, watching him work is awesome.“

“The fall here is incredible and I've been getting it every week for the past 6 weeks to ease my tummy as I have IBS. Sometimes. The pho is a tad on the sweet side, but it is consistent and delightful. The service is always really attentive at the beginning and once you have your food they kind of leave you alone, which I like.

The best jianbing I've had outside of China. Crispy and not too salty. My wife said it's authentic Tianjin style.

The soy milk was amazing! Very smooth and slightly sweet even though it wasn't sweetened. No burnt taste.

Alas, he was out of tea eggs.

The short ribs were so tender and had the most delicate, slightly sweet and savory flavor.

We loved the Korean beef tartare and the glass noodles.

The gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional, he gave me a few recommendations, and even though I don’t eat raw meat, he offered to cook it completely instead. I never finish my rice but I ended up ordering another bowl. Service is top notch. They’re so busy but took time to listen to us.“

“Came here during Salesforce TDX 2026 with some friends visiting from Mexico — they were on a mission for lobster rolls, so we trusted Google (and all the other reviewers) and gave this place a try. Good call.

The place was nice and quiet when we walked in, and you could immediately smell the seafood — always a good sign.

We ordered two Maine-style lobster rolls and one Connecticut-style (warm with butter), plus of course… one friend had to be different and ordered a burger 😂

I went with the lobster roll + chowder combo — and somehow ended up with two chowders, which was a great surprise. Not complaining at all.

Everything was delicious. The lobster rolls were fresh and flavorful, the chowder was rich and comforting, and even the fries on the side were on point.

And shoutout to the burger — my friend is very picky about burgers, and he loved this one, which says a lot.

Service was smooth, no issues, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed.

“Walked into this place by total chance. Got the veggie chowmein and eggplant with chicken and prawns and it was awesome. This is the type of Chinese food you wanna eat to cure a hangover, just a perfect combo of flavor, and the right amount of greasy. The eggplant was cooked to perfection, it melted in your mouth.

Their menu is a-la-carte style so not ideal for an individual person unless you’re really hungry or want leftovers! Would definitely go back to try some of their other dishes.“

“This resturant is part of my childhood and coming back, I've definitely noticed improvements. If you've been to chinese resturants you know how the service can be, but the food is delicious! Today, I can finally say service was better than expected, they finally accept credit cards with a 3.5% fee, and they have an updated menu! Food quality and taste is the same as it was when I was a kid.

My go to is the duck leg noodle, I personally think this is the best in the bay. Simple noodles and a meaty duck leg.

“Chowder’s is a solid place to grab a quick seafood meal while exploring Pier 39. Given its location in one of the busiest and most touristy parts of San Francisco, the prices are actually pretty reasonable. You could easily spend a lot more at nearby restaurants without getting a noticeably better meal.

The food itself is pretty good, though I wouldn’t call it exceptional. The clam chowder is creamy, filling, and especially good served in the sourdough bread bowl. The bread soaks up the chowder nicely while still staying chewy around the edges. The seafood tastes fresh enough, portions are decent, and everything comes out fairly quickly.

This is definitely more of a casual tourist stop than a destination restaurant, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It works well when you’re walking around Fisherman’s Wharf and want something warm and satisfying without sitting down for a long meal or spending a fortune.

Overall, Chowder’s delivers what you’d expect: good seafood, reasonable portions, and surprisingly fair prices for Pier 39. It probably won’t be the most memorable meal you have in San Francisco, but it’s convenient, tasty, and worth stopping at if you’re already in the area.“

“old skool cool. i've had many a meal here. it's probably responsible for how much i weigh after college.......actually i went here even more after graduating. everything is good. in particular pepper garlic chicken and basil eggplant chicken are two tasty standouts. good pad thai and pad see ew too. thankfully i work a little farther away from campus now, so i can't go here too often....but maybe i'll go again...“
