“This place is a ridiculous gem of a spot. Rather unassuming from the outside, but inside is a super focused, stylish and capable kitchen turning out a small menu of greatness. It almost goes without saying that this is not grocery store rotisserie chicken. You actually get crispy skin here, non generic seasoning and nosiness throughout. It's also served with fresh mint and cilantro, and all the chimichurri you can stand. The sides are impeccable with next level roasted broccoli and Brussels, both also served with herbs and bright sauces. All wrapped it up with really great service. Date night-level ambiance too! Only thing is you need to be ready for stinky leftovers because the amount of cruciferous veggies (cauliflower, sprouts, broccoli) you can get, but it's worth it.“

I find small shrimp roll to be very filling as a lunch option. Crab roll, based on other Bodega Bay restaurants I visited, is just ok. “Pho 2000 is a cute restaurant with two floors with kind and efficient service. I ordered pho dac biet (#1) small size and Thai iced tea. They also provide with hot tea when you first sit. The pho was okay. Everything was fine except that the broth wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be. It was very mild which made it kind of hard to taste. I had to mix a bit of hoisin sauce into the broth to be able to taste it. The noodles were kind of overcooked and there wasn’t as much meat as I thought there would be. The Thai tea was delicious! Strong, sweet, and refreshing just how I like it. I had received both items in less than 10 minutes. This restaurant is a great lunch spot!“

And even though the interior and vibe of this place is very simple (I’d say it’s more like an eatery) the food is really good and authentic. Our party of 5 was interested in trying everything they have to offer and it seemed to be feasible because the menu is not large. The only option we skipped was pelmeny (as their origin isn’t really Ukrainian). So the summary is:- Borscht 5/5 Very rich taste, tender vegetables and good amount of meat- Cabbage rolls 5/5 My personal favorite! Very juicy, good quality of meat in the filling and well cooked cabbage leaves- Vareniky (dumplings) 5/5 We got vegetarian versions (potato and potato with cheese) and love them. They "are" Sumac SF (Medditeranean), Saucy Salads, and Soupchu ... so you can mix and match across three menus. Note that it is on a busy street-corner, there is no obvious spot to park, but pickup was quick and painless. The food was great, and we'll be back for pickup. Since Dec 2023, I probably returned at least five times. I yet to try everything on the menu; but most likely I will. Definitely recommend Beef Carpaccio (if you like raw beef salad), spring rolls are fresh as they make at order instead of storing in a fridge, papaya shrimp mango was delicious, pho ga is recommend when feeling under the weather also very good, jackfruit boba (recommends), and my very first time trying their "Say No More Combo" was really impressive and tasty.
