Sushi Matsu is a great place to enjoy delicious sushi with generous portions and moderate prices. The sushi chefs do a tremendous job, making it one of the best sushi restaurants in the Bay Area and a hidden gem. The presentation is amazing, and the restaurant offers cozy, simple but lovely ambiance. The seafood sukiyaki may lack seafood, but the broth is flavorful. The mixed tempura and salmon teriyaki are highlights. For a quick and satisfying meal, the comforting and delicious chicken katsu donburi is recommended. The sushi rolls are good, with prices from $12-14, offering decent value for what they are. Popular rolls include Lion King, Honey Bee, Mango Roll, Jalapeño Bomber, and Pink Lady Roll, all very good. While not the craziest sushi, many find it satisfying enough to return, especially since it’s close by. Service is quick and pleasant, and the restaurant provides a stamp card for frequent visitors. Total bills for a good variety of rolls and nigiri tend to be around $80. Overall, Sushi Matsu is a recommended spot for a tasty meal and great sushi experience.
