“Good selection of vegetarian, vegan, and standard ramen dishes. I enjoyed the Timmy Tan Tan ramen - a little bit of spice, fresh crisp from the greens, and nice depth in the broth! I usually only have half a bowl and save the rest for leftovers but I was still a bit hungry halfway through and ended up eating the entire thing.
Service is very quick with orders and refills. Very relaxed, casual atmosphere good for catching up with friends.
Unfortunately they are now very low/out of eggs due to the current egg stock issues. It does leave the ramen feeling a little naked.

“I loved everything we got here! We had it family-style for a party of 4, and everyone left very full. I highly recommend the scallops, octopus, and potatoes bravas. The pork paella was also so yummy! I can't wait to come back. Great, attentive service!“

“I'm super appreciative of any vegan restaurants in the Bay Area. It's a myth that this area has a lot of veg places. There are actually very few, so I cherish the ones we have. I first went to the Honolulu location and liked it a lot. The Berkeley location smells weird. It's a small, LOUD restaurant where diners are so close together that you hear everyone's convos and smell their perfume. There is a roll they light on fire that smells like butane all through the small restaurant. So that's a bummer. The food is good. The seating is uncomfortable and it's just too loud to be fun or relaxing. It's hard to get the servers attention. The starters often come after the rolls, even when we asked for apps to come first. The view outside is of garbage cans lined up and trash. So... Could be a lot nicer of a place.“

“Staff was well-versed on the vegan menu and were very helpful. I would definitely come back again and try the other vegan options! We had the vegan grandma and the Caesar salad and both were good. Be sure to ask the host for a vegan menu! Update- went back to try the NY vegan - staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We tried the Beet and Chicory salad. We liked the Caesar better but the NY pizza better than the grandma! Updated from previous review on 2024-03-27“

“This is a top go to spot for me. I’m not always around during their hours, or forget the options of places, so I get something from here about once every 6 weeks. As vegan I either get the falafel sandwich or plate. I prefer the plate. It amazes me how simple the combination of vegetables and sauces are, and yet it’s so flavorful. I feel full and healthy after eating at this joint and the people working there have such a nice vibe. If vegan they will swap out hummus for the yogurt based items.“

“Looking to beat the heat so we headed to Berkeley for lunch. Got the Pastrami Ruskie with Latke. Sooooo good. Huge portions. Friendly service. They were out of Prosecco so they couldn’t make me their Old Man & The Deli. Got a margarita and it was both tasty & packed a punch.“

“We initially got one cupcake to split since we weren't 100% we'd love it. (Cupcakes can be such a hit or miss) My husband took one bite and said, " Yeah, your gonna need your own cupcake!" LOL. He's not even a dessert person, so that was saying a LOT! Best red velvet I've had in a long time. Super moist and rich flavor. Excited to come back to try more flavors!“

“I enjoy this restaurant very much. The food is excellent and fresh. it’s served hot every time. The servers can speed up with taking orders but otherwise, they are o.k. The restaurant is ok. The seating is too close for me but I get it. There’s No parking. It’s excellent.“

“We had the best brunch experience ever today! The lemon ricotta pancakes along with the cheesy potatoes were delish! We sat outside on their darling little patio and listened to live music, it was so lovely. But the best part of all was the outstanding service from Maxine, her suggestions were on point and her beautiful energy was exactly what our morning needed! Will definitely be back!“

“This is the best Indian food you can get in Berkeley! (Even better than Viks) We got the Vada Pav, Masala Chai and Donne Biryani. Everything tasted great and authentic! Vada pav reminded me of homemade ones in Bombay. Owner was very nice and welcoming. We are definitely coming back for sure!“

“What a great find. We were in Berkeley for a show and booked this place by just looking up reviews and by proximity. The service and food was phenomenal. We had a very tasty wine, a gem salad, gluten free pizza and a dessert. It was the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. I can't wait to go back.“

“Place is cool it can be crowded on the weekend but it’s understandable because it’s a college area the people behind the counter get over stimulated sometimes and seem like they’re rushing you. The dogs are are great though the lemonade isn’t sweet and they offer good chilli and condiments“

“As a huge fans of acai bowl or any smoothie bowls, I really recommend this place. Among smoothie bowl places that i’ve been visited in Bay Area, this place has one of the most aesthetically pleasing bowls. The price is a bit higher compare to other smoothie bowl places, but it is worth it since they offer great variety of topping. The taste and the texture are okay. For me, I have anothe smoothie bowl place that I like more than this place in term of the taste, however, aesthetically-wise this palm-acai cafe is the winner“

“I was craving something warm to eat close to midnight and I found this place. I was with my Japanese roommate, and he himself said this place did give off an Izakaya vibe. Most of the food items offered here I've tried elsewhere, so I ended up getting the sukiyaki, which was to my liking.
We did feel a little out of place, as the servers seemed primarily focused on a larger group, who they appeared to be friends with. So we felt a little forgotten throughout most of our time there, also considering that it was not that busy as we did leave a little before they closed.“

“This is THE classic Szechune restaurant in Bay Area. It is convenient, spacious, and with nice decor. The food is authentic with milder taste. As a Cantonese the real SZ cooking is overwhelming. This milder version is just right. We had A3 appetiser, H5 boiled fish, and J3 stirred pork. It came to somewhat >$80 for two. The portion is large. The left-over is good for another 3 meals. Very delicious!“

“Excited to experience dim sum at night! That's the best part about this place. Dim sum anytime. This is one of their newest location. We're so glad we came here. Parking was insane but we got lucky and parked by a nearby lot. We even met the owner Michael. What a nice man! Two of my friends have tried their SF location so they already knew what to order. Lucky me! Everything was mouth watering delicious. The wait outside was not long at all and we came early by 6 pm. There's 2 levels of seatings and I highly suggest to ask for the upper floor seating. Much cooler up there on a warm day/night. The servers were so nice. I definitely remember William. Checked on us often and made sure we enjoyed our meal. We had 7 dim sum selections and there was plenty for the 3 of us. We even had a mini to go box at the end. The price is $$. I can't wait to go back here again.“

“What a great place, especially for families! The staff is friendly, attentive and bilingual should you be more comfortable speaking Spanish! Everyone at our table enjoyed their delicious breakfast of perfectly cooked pancakes, eggs, bacon etc! I know it sounds like a lot but order a biscuit for everyone to try at least a bite!!
Kid-friendliness: They’ll love the bear theme!“
“What a gem! In the courtyard of the Anthropology Museum, you’ll find this charming oasis. Everything from the furniture, landscape, menu, and soundtrack are all thoughtfully procured. Afternoon tea consisted of 3 refreshing flavors of tea and 3 sweet dishes. The chia seed porridge was a generous portion with a delicious flavor profile as well as texture. The toasted hazelnuts added a tasty crunch. Blackberries and gooseberries were a nice palate cleanser, and the chia seed flour brownie bites were addictive! The black walnuts and coarse East Bay salt were a perfect combination! I’m thankful they don’t sell these individually otherwise I would be eating them daily. In bulk. Not only was the meal unique and delicious, we also learned some Ohlone history and words as well as heard some lovely songs and spoken word that were pre-recorded. It’s such a nice experience and so much more than just food and drinks!“

“This spot had a charming ambiance, with adorable lamps and chairs that immediately caught my eye. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which I’d rate a solid 8.6/10. The portion was generous, and they didn’t skimp on the meatballs. It also came with garlic bread, which was a standout—the roasted garlic spread on the bread was incredible.
My boyfriend tried the gnocchi primavera, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment at 4.8/10. The gnocchi was overly soft, and the dish was overloaded with olives that had an off-putting metallic taste, which overshadowed the other flavors.
The service was straightforward—nothing notable, just taking orders and delivering food. One downside was the extra $1 charge per item for card payments, which felt unnecessary.
Overall, it’s a nice spot with good food, especially the spaghetti and garlic bread. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area and feeling hungry, but perhaps skip the gnocchi.“

“I saw someome make a TikTok about this place and immediately knew I had to add that to my list. I headed out to Berkeley on a Friday morning to try it out and I bought a friend who isnt a big fan of Thai and or Asian food. I was thankful to experience this style of northern Thai cuisine I believe the order Tanzie referred to it as. The hospitality and service was above average. I enjoyed all of my food and so did my friend. The pork jowl was agreed to be are favorite out of the all the dishes we tried. Very juicy , flavorful and just all around deliscious topped off with that crispy fried garlic. The brown rice over that soft scrambled "lava egg" was to die for paired with the savory tomato based minced pork that I ordered extra spicy of course. The star of the show that me and my friend both agreed on had to be the "prik nam pla" which I would describe as a sweet and spicy vinegar or fish sauce based dipping sauce accompanied by a nice punch of spice from the thai chili peppers. I dont have any complaints whatsoever and I will definitely be back.“

They were filling and had extremely balanced sauce, not overly sweet and had perfect amnt of sauteed vegetables as part of wing sauce. Super good.. Loved it.... Staff is friendly too, and Nate in particular was a kind person, thanks!“

“The best Momos and butter chicken and many other things you will eat in Berkeley. Have been living here since 4 years and I make it a point to walk down to the Resturant from the hills at least twice a week for their delicious food. The food tastes like what we eat at home, spices are a perfect blend, and the produce always taste fresh. Khendu & Gopal, the hard working couple behind the Resturant are super friendly and very kind.
It’s very close to University so you all see a lotta kids come for a hot meal & the love the couple have these kids is so beautiful.
I highly recommend Momo Masala. Our favorite place in Berkeley !“
