“Would give this place 10 stars if I could!!Authentic Yemeni tea & coffee houseOne of the most beautiful and tasteful coffee shops in the bay area Highly recommend for any coffee/tea lovers out there, especially if you enjoy trying new things.“
“We have been coming back here for a few times since we found this place last year. It's fantastic vegetarian Ethiopian food served family style. I highly recommend starting with the combo and then order more of what you like best. The food is ready and will be served quickly. The atmosphere is very cozy and friendly as the owner (?) is super nice and always has a smile for the guests. There are no meat options but I bet you won't miss them.“
“Found a new favorite cafe in town! Lovely interior and very friendly owner and staff. I've been going almost every day for the past two weeks for their Persian Rose Tea and am just starting to try out their baked goods. Cardamom and saffron cookie goes really well with the tea!“
“I stopped in for the first time last week… People working there are super nice. Latte was really good, I don’t know what beans they were using but it was delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich on ciabatta that was HUGE. I saved half for my lunch later!Dog friendly!“
“A truly perfect local cafe! Great pastries, good lattes, and all the decorations and woodwork are on point. That combined with free Wi-Fi makes this a fantastic choice for anyone looking to work, catch up with friends, or just people watch.“
“Good atmosphere and good chicken pesto panini. If they had blended coffee drinks with a silent blender, it would be much better. But still worth itParking: Not a lot of parking options. The city will soon remove most nearby parking in the area so they can put up some cement dividers. Soon you will only be able to walk/bike there.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, accessible.“
“I had a great time and so did my guest ,we are planning to do a 1year anniversary with vendors next time, many people ask for the number to call to book there own events ? I was very happy will the overall quick action and timely responses from Adam and other staff members, all arrangements and rerangements were on point .Thank you ? see you soon“
“Boichik is a weekly favorite of mine. You can't go wrong with your choice of bagel, although pumpernickel caraway salt is currently my top choice. The coffee's good too, hot or iced. On top of everything, everyone who works there is super, super nice. SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to Lisa! She always makes my day and never fails to brighten up the room :)Last thing to keep in mind for the uninitiated: there's limited seating (especially when it's raining -- there are just 4 tables inside) and the bagels tend to get sold out before 11:30-12 on the weekend.Vegetarian options: They have vegan cream cheese (plain, strawberry, or chive) and several of their bagels are inherently vegan. Vegan creamer is available as well.“
“Delicious coffee down at the Marina? Hell yeah, pls & thank you! ❤️? Jasraj, the owner of Roaming Bean Coffee, is super chill & kind, obviously loves what he does, and imho he definitely knows his craft. My latte was perfect. I'm no expert by far, but I do know a bit, I love me some good coffee, and I've had espresso & lattes both good & bad.... and I'm just sayin, Roaming Bean does it RIGHT. Temperature, taste, everything. Seriously- for me, at least, this was the perfect latte. And they're MOBILE! Friggin awesome! He said they'd been at César Chávez Park for awhile but plan on being here at the Berkeley Marina on the weekends (next to the public Small Craft Launching Docks, next to Cal Sailing Club) for a number of weeks to come. If you find yourself at the Marina on the weekend, come on over & show Roaming Bean some love. Thanks, Jasraj! Next time, I'm totally gonna try that Brown Sugar Cardamom latte....“
“Soft music unlike many places. Attentive but not overdone service (noticed my partner looking around and asked if we wanted anything else). Vegan panini was good and even came with a little potato salad. Nice to support a small business since it's tough running a small business.“
“Its been a few year since I was last here. Not a bad spot. Their signature coffee was pretty good from what I remember. Also the food options are good.I use to work in the building they are part of, so I frequented this spot. Not a bad option for coffee or lunch.“
“I love this place! It has always been my favorite ice cream place because it has unique flavors and great service. The ice cream is made on sight with quality ingredients and lots of care. My favorite flavor is salted caramel but all of them are good, especially the sorbet.“
“One of the most innovative coffee I’ve ever had. Their orange blossom iced coffee is insane. Their orange blossom syrup is home made and so fresh. I wish I didn’t have to pay the 8$ toll to get this coffee every time. And to top it, the cafe setup is extremely charming.“
“After trying many matcha einspanner drinks in LA, I've been craving one in the Bay Area. I tried the iced mindspanner matcha and ceremonial matcha latte with suggested sweetness. The iced mindspanner matcha had a very light matcha flavor, so I'd definitely recommend adding extra matcha for $1.25. This one didn't compare to the other einspanner matcha drinks I've had in LA. But, there wasn't an extra charge for oat milk so that was nice. The ceremonial matcha latte had a good matcha flavor and was definitely the better drink of the two.“
“I'm just throwing this rating in here. I loved the donuts, the drinks, and the muffins so much. I live in Denver and at least 5 people I know personally miss Third Culture so much. We crave it all the time and wish you could bring it back to Denver!!!!“
“The man behind the counter has such a fantastic attitude and personality- thank you. AND both the regular coffee and creative coffee drinks are great. I was surprised by how good the vegan donuts are too. At first I was disappointed that there weren’t other types of pastries to try, but these are really yummy!Vegetarian options: All vegan!“
“Omg what can I say about this delightful spot on Solano. Love the beverages. I tried their Oolong Latte and oh my stars, how divine ✨️. My awesome gal pal had the Ube Latte and that was so divine as well.I am looking forward to trying their Matcha Latte next ?“
“The place is nice and quite common within the area, the people who serve are very friendly and the coffees are very delicious. Taking out the empanadas they have, I didn't see many other Argentine things, I expected more bakery related to Argentina but there wasn't much.“
“CoRo is a very unique place. A very nice Cafe with very knowledgeable staff and a coop coffee roasting facility in the back, where you can watch the roasting and processing of the magic beans happen, right before your eyes. The feature some of the unique coffees that are roasted there and offer local baked goods, as well.“
“I'm honestly not a huge dessert person, however sometimes wife n u like going to get or order dessert after dinner n share something. Here we each ordered something different n both tore it up. Super fresh delicious creative dessert it's ?“
“I have been going to Dream Fluff Donuts for over 20 years. They are a local institution. If you're looking for classic donuts that are super fluffy and fresh look no further. There is often a line but it goes quick and also speaks to their popularity. The ambiance is old school. They haven't updated much since they opened but it's clean and quaint. Diner vibes. My favorite are their old fashioned donuts and their raised donuts (their fluffiest). They also are super reasonably priced.“
“This cafe is a great place to study because of its wonderful atmosphere. Drinks are also pretty good, as are pastries. However, what truly makes Cafe 1951 stand out is its incredible employees! They are extremely kind and friendly, making this a great cafe experience. Service is also quick.“
“Best value caffe latte in the Bay Area! This establishment offers a solid latte for $3.75 along with tasty pastries and donuts from the finest high end bakeries in the East Bay. The setting is no frills with a few tables and chairs in a largely empty parking lot with no car traffic that catches the sun. The huge lot must be worth a fortune as Fellini splits it with a pizza restaurant, hence the lack of traffic. I paid $6.50 for a latte at Sightglass in San Francisco that was not as good. My latte and 2 excellent pastries came to $12. The gentleman behind the counter was kind and friendly. You can also purchase their exclusive Mr Espresso roasted beans at an equally reasonable price. Head there quick before the landlord cashes in on the lot which is right across the street from Target. Best value latte and easiest parking in Berkeley makes this a new favorite destination for me.Parking: Largest and emptiest parking lot in Berkeley“
“This review is for the dinner service, which is lovely, full of charm, and has a serious appreciation for food as art. Each dish was incredibly flavorful, curated, and came with fresh ingredients. Overall, the dishes had quality ingredients that were thoughtfully put together, and well worth the value. The vibe and ambiance was fit for both a playful date and an evening with friends. The person behind the counter was also very kind and took his time to suggest wine pairings and dishes. So grateful for this place -- it definitely is a spot for good dining in Berkeley.“
“I ordered the Pavé Torte from this bakeshop and had it delivered to my mother as our family's Christmas surprise for her. The ordering process was very smooth and easy and Amanda has been easy to communicate with as I verified that my order was received and then delivered on the date I had requested. Overall, I experienced great service and the price of the torte was very reasonable along with the delivery charge.I wish I was a local so that I could try their offerings which all look delicious. I will visit for sure when I am in town.“
“The Tie Guan Yin milk tea with boba, 80% sweetness and less ice is my favorite boba order in Berkeley. It’s pricey but always tastes great. The seating is very comfortable but the indoors is a little cramped. Order ahead if you don’t want to wait 15+ mins at the busiest times.“
“Love this spot! There’s always a delicious pastry or 3 available, boichik bagels with vegan schmear options, and they had HAND PIES the other day from Edith’s Pie (like a guest pop up situation I’m guessing?) I got the chorizo potato and my spouse ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese. We were both pleased! The staff is always really nice, there’s ample seating inside, a bar area, a back patio, and two or three tables our front.“
“A great coffee shop in Berkeley with a great atmosphere to study in. Tucked away in a small alleyway near campus, the cafe offers a variety of drinks and spaces for students to study. It has many outlets and free Wi-Fi, which is very convenient for students who want a change of scenery from campus. I usually order their Strawberry Matcha Latte or their Chai Latte with an added expresso shot. Their Strawberry Matcha Latte has a very creamy texture and their strawberry puree is very sweet. I definitely recommend cutting on the sugar level if you like to taste more of the matcha. Their Chai Latte is by far the best I had in Berkeley. My friends and I always watch them steep the tea per order and it is simply amazing. Sometimes I liked to add an expresso shot for an extra caffeine boost and it never fails me.“
“Great coffee and service, pleasant premises, Zen like patio in the back. My rating scale is tough and this establishment which serves a fine latte and cortado with solid roasted bean notes and flavors deserves a solid 4. Souvenir occupies the prior location of Semifreddi’s Bakery, a few blocks West from the Claremont Hotel. Next door is a comic book and poster store that harkens back to the 60s and 70s and well worth a visit on its own. Souvenir roasts its own beans which my readers know by now means a lot to me. The premises were full which is always a good sign. The back patio represents an oasis of tranquility in hectic Berkeley. Service was excellent and the kind young ladies took the time to explain which beans were used for espresso, all with a smile. This establishment deserves your business - and linger a while in the patio.“
“There is no competition! With it being walking distance from my house, it is an absolute must visit for everyone who comes over. I take everyone to Boichik and brag about my luck in being so close to the best bagels I’ve ever had! I get bagels every single weekend because it’s impossible to go a week without them. Don’t even think about it, if you want a bagel in the Bay Area, you have to go here.“
“After grabbing coffee, I stopped here for a quick bite in the morning and was pleasantly surprised. There is limited indoor seating at the restaurant, but there is a lot of outdoor seating that is perfect to enjoy your food at on a nice day out. I ordered the roasted chicken sandwich and the portion was amazing for the price. The sandwich itself was really good although I wish it had more chicken in it to balance out the amount of produce in the sandwich. The bread definitely pulled the whole sandwich together. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu!“
“There’s no shade outside the Gilman Berkeley location. The only table umbrella there was broken. Every table was taken inside. The only choice was to bake in direct sunlight. The same issue exists in the Castro, SF and Fremont locations: no shaded seating outside.“
“I recently moved to Berkeley and found this cafe by chance. I enjoy their coffee, smoothies.and wraps. Food is always fresh and very delicious. If you are looking for good food at fair price definitely worth trying.Parking: Thia Cafe is Right in front of thw parking garage.“
“Went there with my dad and son over Winter break. We went on a Friday afternoon/evening. We went for the gaming experience first and the cafe experience second. I was very surprised when we got there how crowded it was with just cafe go'ers. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table to open up that would fit the three of us. I don't know if that's typical. However they are not far from Cal so I would I imagine they get a lot of campus traffic when school is in session. The game selection was outstanding. Lots of different sections with different kinds of games. Party games, puzzle games, strategy games, you name it. Really enjoyed that. If you want access to the game library it's $8/person. If you're just there for the cafe you don't have to pay the library fee. Love all the decor as well. It all tied well into the gaming theme. Most of the staff was super friendly. However at one point I was trying to point out an issue in the bathroom and tried to get a couple of the staff members attention from the end of the galley. They looked up from their phones but didn't walk down to the end of the galley to hear me. I had to walk all the way around to the register to really get them to pay attention. That was mildly disappointing in terms of the quality of their service. Other than that everyone else I interacted with was terrific.Good menu with decent selection and variety. Tried two of the pizzas and a sandwich. Everything tasted very good. Would have liked to have seen a few more snack options.Parking: Your only real option here is paid street parking. After 6:00 p.m. the meters turn off. I think there are some parking garages in the area, but I think it would be a decent walk to them. If you're staying late to play games, it might be slightly uncomfortable to walk to one of the garages in the dark.Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring your kids! They can enjoy snacks and sodas on the menu. There are lots of kid friendly games that are suitable to all ranges of kid ages and play styles.“
“Landed in San Francisco and searched for a coffee shop to grab a quick bite. Found this place and definitely did not regret it. The staff was kind and efficient. The food was amazing! We order 3 different empanadas and each was soft, flavorful and stuffed full of meat. My favorite was the chorizo. The coffee tasted super fresh and was so good. Definitely will be back.“
“Candied yam latte was so delicious!! I had ordered the rose cardamom latte, but some lady took it, and then they were out of the cardamom syrup. :( so they let me take the lady’s latte (mocha latte, which was good!) and made me whatever else I wanted, which was so kind! And that’s why I ended up with a candied yam latte. And honestly I am so glad I got to try it! When I got to the bottom there was real yam at the bottom! Very impressed. And the staff was so nice!! Also.. free wifi! Just no outlets. (That I could find) I recommend!“
“I came here looking for a matcha dessert after the nearby matcha cafe was sold out. The matcha egg waffle here fulfilled my craving, but wouldn't be my first choice if I was looking for matcha dessert. The lychee ice cream was light and not too sweet. Overall we had a good time here! The worker was nice and there were lots of cute decorations inside.“
“Here is the best place I have found for a take out breakfast, specifically their breakfast burritos. I have them to add ham , as I was tired of all the breakfast sandwiches with sausage giving me a tummy ache. Their burritos are cooked in a coordinated fashion in different pans assembly is completed right after they add the tater tots. It's perfection in a tortilla roll. Well worth the extra money, you won't be disappointed.“
“Great local coffee. I enjoyed their coffee when they pop up at the my local farmer's market in Castro Valley every Saturday. Taste fresh and gets me through my farmer's market shopping with my two toddlers in tow. Met the owner, James and he was super friendly.“
“Literally 5 Stars across the board!! Their staff is amazing everyday of the week! The food always has me ready to take a nap after eating!!! You have to try the BLTA, made to perfection everytime! Thank you, you all and all that you do are highly appreciated!“
“I was just out kicking around with Bologna Bob, we had just assisted his friends Dookie the Sausage King and his little pleasure point...SqueezeMarie fix the reverberater on their two person Swing-A-Tron...it was fixed and humming like a Kardashian when SqueezeMarie got that look in her eyes, and I knew it was time to make tracks...right now! We ran all the way to Mezzo and had Amazing sandos.5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆“
“I went into Delah Coffee House and really enjoyed the detailed and colorful decor. The ambience was very calm, quiet, and the place had a lot of seating. The barista was really kind and recommended the Yemini Latte iced. The coffee was a little pricey but was flavorful and strong. but overall tasted good! This is place I will definitely come back to.“
“Ayal and the catering team were a dream to work with for our event at UC Berkeley. The order was exactly as ordered, on time for both deliveries, and a pleasure to work with, even in the last minutes of getting final numbers together. Highly recommend catering for any event!“
“This is our favorite non-fancy bougie breakfast and coffee place in Berkeley. I always get the croissant breakfast sandwich with orange juice. They also serve THE avocado toast (the one that prevents us millennials from buying property) and their iced coffees are delicious too.“
“Love this cafe the staff treat you like family as long as you're not an ässhøle? my favorite drink is the strawberry Italian soda, their hot coffees are delicious but I've been cutting down on caffeine, so this is my go-to now? recently tried a couple hot sandwiches and their food is equally delicious, I scarfed it down before I could remember to get a picture ??Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp up to the ordering window, wide enough for people to be able to walk past my stroller, their outdoor seating is also accessible, level with the sidewalk.“
“I came from NYC needing a perfect place to have a coffee and stare at the streets. Kind owner and they had epic amounts of the New Yorker. It made my heart smile :) Thank you for making me feel at home with a wonderful espresso and time with my husband.“
“I discovered this cafe today and love it! It opens onto Adeline and it's bright, cheery, and artsy. The guy working there was working really hard and knew half the customers who came in. There's a great variety of breakfast sandwiches and lunch-type sandwiches. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was bursting with flavor. My sandwich and a drink were only $10.“
“I was coming here everyday when I first moved to Berkeley. The Yakult teas and Oolong teas are my favorite. I'll usually add taro balls and Mochi jelly!! Those are the best two topping options, but their boba is also delicious with a perfect consistency. I think this is a bit pricier for the area, but honestly I think it's worth it sometimes.“
“East Bay Provisions is a lovely breakfast & lunch restaurant at The Carriage House Entrance of The Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. The staff is wonderful and they actually remember their customers by name! We had delicious breakfasts and lunches as well as delicious coffees, lattes and tasty cookies.“
“Algerian baked goods and sweets at their best! Incredibly, this tiny sidewalk cafe makes all their own pastries and sweets on-site. The owner/baker/muffin maker is almost always there, making community and croissant sandwiches. Seating on the sidewalk will, with great good luck, be upgraded soon with a parklet.“
