This place should consider hiring new management. Really unpleasant experience with the staff. Even though I promised to purchase a coffee, I was harassed by the manager and asked to leave 5 minutes after. I am a big fan of the atmosphere and the food, but the manager was incredibly condescending and impatient with me despite there being plenty of open tables and my assurance of purchasing something. Sorry all you great bakers out there, but Babette's upstairs at the museum, makes just the very best, most amazingly delicious pastries I've ever tasted - the pistachio cake, the 'coffee ' cake, the fig tart - all just nirvana
Very busy little hub located in the art museum, I immediately headed for this place as soon as I heard the faint laughter of over-coffee-conversation from the lobby. It's on the 2nd floor, passing the red staircase of impending pseudo doom then voila, you have reached your destination. I got the cardamom coffee, it was delicious as the name promises. I saw lots of other confections and delights to be had but I've been on a strict budget so the simplicity did me well....read full review
