My FAVORITE dim sum/Chinese restaurant in Berkeley! Everything tastes authentic, the pork buns 生煎包 tastes just like the ones I could get in shanghai. The soup dumplings are also amazing- I love using the vinegar, spicy oil, and soy sauce as a combination to use for the dumplings. The walnut shrimps and chinese beef burrito is amazing too!! I wish i could eat at this place everyday and it honestly tastes very authentic ;)
I have wanted to try dumpling kitchen for a while and I am glad I decided to visit for a random weekday lunch! My group ordered the hot and sour soup, vegetable bao, spicy wontons, and mapo tofu lunch special. The soup came out first and it was very nice and warming for the cold weather lately. This used to be my go-to dumpling spot in Berkeley. It's accessible via numerous bus routes that go through Durant and located just a block off campus. Parking can be hard so be prepared for that. It can also be quite busy in the afternoon right when it opens for dinner so be conscious of that. Service is no-frills and very quick; I have no issue with this at all.
