Now many years later I really wanted szechuan food and decided to give them another try.

Amazing food! Best in the East Bay
Authentic Sichuan flavors with good sized portions. Comparable to China Village up the street but I actually like the seasoning here better - especially for the numbing spice dishes. The restaurant space is nice if a bit dated.

Sichuan Style in Berkeley offers a satisfying dining experience with friendly service and a traditional atmosphere. Known for its spicy Chinese cuisine, standout dishes include Shui Zhu Yu 水煮鱼, crispy dishes, and dry fried green beans. The food is authentic, with a milder taste that appeals to many diners. The portions are large, often enough for multiple meals. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive, making it a great spot for a peaceful bite. The restaurant features a large menu, is spacious, and has nice decor, ensuring a comfortable dining experience.
Customers praise the restaurant's Mapo tofu, 1000 chili chicken, and cumin lamb as their favorites. They also note that the restaurant serves paocai, a traditional Chinese cabbage side dish, which is different from kimchi. The environment is described as amazing, with pretty fast service and the best Sichuan food in the East Bay area. Diners appreciate the fresh pot of tea and kimchi served before the meal.
