Today I decided to order the super burrito with chorizo & asked them to cut it in 1/2. They went a step further & individually wrapped each 1/2. “This is old school Mexican restaurant and food and thank goodness it still exists. Maze like interiors with old style decor, frescos on the walls, heavy furniture. It just gets more beautiful as the night comes. Polite helpful servers that know the menu. Lots of new variations but I went with the Chile relleno, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. It rushed me back to my childhood. Enjoy.“

I got birria, lengua and cabeza and all were cooked perfectly. Slightly crispy but perfect amount of oily all cut by the salsa Verde and lime that reduces the oil in mouth feel. “New Ownership that specializes in Guatemalan food. El Delicioso is the new name. I ordered a steak quesadilla and it was really good. I asked for pico inside the quesadilla and it was loaded with avocados. I'll be back again to try out the national dishes they serve.“

“My first time coming to this metro location, and the girl misheard my order over the drive thru order speaker.. I wanted one order of traditional flautas, somehow I got 4 tacos ? I was wondering why it cost so much.. so I went in to the establishment (instead of driving around the drive thru again) and explained the situation. Expecting to walk out with the 4 tacos still in hand, frustrated... I was suprised ?... the girl gave me back the $7 or so that I had overpaid, and was given my flautas.. cooked to perfection ??????“

“La Pinata SL has been our go-to Mexican food restaurant. Whether it's for takeout or a special occasion, we have been eating here 30 years, longer if you include other locations.
The food is consistently good, quality of ingredients is excellent, service is always quick and friendly.
In the 30 years we've been eating here, the only things that have changed are the prices, and recently, we've noticed the portion sizes aren't as generous. but everyone seems to be doing this lately. I can't blame them too much. They have to stay open just like everyone else. We probably eat here at least once or twice per month.
Favorites include Super Famosa Burrito, street tacos, Chicken Mole, Enchiladas Verde, chicken caldo, tamales.

The carne asada is fresh, grilled, not dry, quality cuts, and a healthy serving per taco. The pollo asado is also grilled, fresh, moist, quality cuts with a healthy serving per taco. Both are simply seasoned with salt. They garnish their tacos with cilantro and onion. They use yellow corn tortillas, which have a great corn flavor, don't fall apart easily, and add depth of character to the tacos.If you order 2 or more tacos, you can make it a plate and add Mexican rice and beans. For beans, you can choose from black beans, pinto beans, or refried beans topped with cheese. The rice is flavorful and moist. The beans are creamy and tasty (I have tried all).The Carnitas are moist and not salty. The Pastor is the kind with pineapple and is on the sweeter side. Both are good. None of the food I have had is salty.The staff are courteous and quick. This place is located by an HS, so timing matters.
