I usually add some type of protein shrimp or chicken and it's one of the best salads that I ever had especially since I'm trying to lose weight and I love the way these salads are made I don't like cucumbers and I was able to eat the cucumbers in the salad so the salad had to be pretty good for me to eat cucumbers and I can't stand cucumbers all of my life”

They have an impressive selection of "old school" beers in bottles: barleywine (above average), imperial stout (multiple varieties), and Belgian dubbel (also above average).Not much for the kids to drink, though my 11 and 14 each found something decent.The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had, the pizza is decent, and the service is good.Demerits for the bench seating with no backs for the Over 40 crowd, the minimal kid drink selection, and it can be difficult to find parking nearby on the weekends.”

“Greeted with amazing service from beginning to end. We brought a little baby and forgot to bring our scissor to cut the food into tiny bits. The kind waiter gave us one to use, and without asking gave us extra napkins, a cup with a straw, and a baby bowl. Is the waiter a parent too? Because he gets it! We appreciate the gesture! Food is delicious too, of course. We went back several times. :)”

“Excellent service all around, starting with prompt responses to my questions over text message, to a warm welcome when we arrived and attentive service from all the staff throughout our dining experience. All the dishes we ordered were amazing; from the raw and grilled oysters, salads, to the sandwiches/entrees and hand crafted cocktails/drinks, everything was delicious. What a gem in this neighborhood! Definitely recommend, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. We had such a great time for my birthday.”

I've had better pizza but not as healthy and the service was great for a pickup order. Excellent beer choices as well. “This is kind of an out of the way spot which is taking over an old pho restaurant.I flew in late to Oakland airport, I need something warm and homey. Frankly, I was itching for a good ramen. Having lived in the Bay Area many years, I knew I could find something like that.This place wasn't too far off of my path, and it was late and they were still open.Walking in the place is fairly unassuming, yet there is still some customers there. Almost that closing. I asked quickly if it was too late to grab a ramen, the kind gal could be said please have a seat.Looking around, I saw several tables that were covered with dirty dishes and uneaten food. Well that wasn't necessarily a great first impression, at least they had a good rush.Sitting down I received a menu, and a glass of cold water.Looking at the menu there was a variety of ramens to choose from, and so I went to my go-to Tonkotsu. Almost nothing better than a Tonkotsu with Chashu late at night. Done that many times after hours in Tokyo.Anyway I had to add Gyoza as a side to complete it.First come out the gyoza, and their fried on all sides. That is not my first choice, and this is very common when prepared by non-Japanese. I bit in, and while decent, they were not great. But the Ramen came out, and I was very excited. It smelled right, the broth was piping hot, and there was several good pieces of Chashu.First, I sip the broth. It was good and hot. Second, I slurped the noodles, they are firm, warm, and perfect flavor. I grab a little sneak bite of a Chashu, It's warm, nice savory flavor, and a good thick piece. I'm pleased. I dive in. Before I knew it the ramen was gone, Gyoza, pretty much gone, and I was very full. The broth was nice and hardy, with a savory thick flavor, and simply it was a calming experience before hitting the hotel.For me my final question is always "would I go back?" The answer is a definite yes. Though I probably would not get the gyoza. But if you're looking for a good ramen, I recommend.”

Would definitely consider this place again for large parties! Pizza was hot and crispy with a nice crust! Chock full of fresh ingredients! Potato wedges were huge, piping hot, and super delicious. Best dish of the day: their fried chicken. Sleeper dish, I'm telling you. Don't knock it til you try it! Super crispy outside and insanely moist and tender on the inside. “Saigon house has been on of our regular rotation for a while. We’ve had a small variety of items from pho, vermicelli, and rice plates. There’s still a lot on the menu we need to try! Everything we’ve had has been good. Food is fresh and delicious.Most recently we had the wonton noodle soup. It had a tasty broth, good wontons which was separated from the shrimp. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the egg noodles were delicious!They get busy very quickly so order early!”

“This amazing local bar is newly owned. I learned the new owners sponsor a pool team and so every now and then host games there in the evenings. They also have Trivia nights, I believe I saw a darts board hanging, There are over 7+ TV's hanging around the bar. The bartenders are all super friendly and down to earth, and special shout out to Lori, a legendary barkeep in the area! They have Irish-themed food from 5-10p and brunch during NFL season!”

“Sabino's is simply a neighborhood gem. The coffee is delicious and they have a good variety of snacks and pastries. Their outdoor patio is a beautiful place to get some writing done and they have stable Wi-Fi and a bathroom so I'm happy!”

“Fiji Fry House is between a Salvadoran bakery at the end of the block and a car repair shop across the street. The shop has an American and Fiji flag at it's side, the only decor visible. The food differs from other Fiji eats i've tasted. The food here has it's distinctness and it's influences from Indian food. Offerings: appetizers, curry tacos, Fiji fried chicken, curry rice box, ala carte, desserts, drinks... Drill: order by phone or at window, pay, food cooked to order. Eats: bhajia (9.75) -similar to pakora. Distinct in having thin flour coating, not a thick batter. 4 pieces of grounded spinach, veggies are moist throughout not dry. Has a chutney dipping sauce. Lamb & potato curry (19.75) -crunchy papadum wafer with flavorful vegetable pulao rice of fresh kachumber, pickled veggies, tumeric to soak up masala gravy. -lamb & potato in tomato and spicy masala gravy adds a spicy kick. Very fulfilling. *couple of tables nearby to dine on. **many entrees have a fusion theme combing Indian & Fiji cooking techniques..da best of 2 cuisines.”

This could be one of the best sushi restaurants in the east bay, especially after so many places closed since covid or went under new management. S&W has a huge dining area with two separate rooms with tables and chairs.We ordered a couple of drinks with the matcha and mango recommended by the workers. “One of my go to local Japanese restaurants. Mainly because of their Godzilla roll. I don't think I've had or seen Godzilla rolls at other Japanese restaurants and the one here is quite good. The sashimi pieces are thick. However, their rolls are on average smaller than many Japanese restaurant I've been to. The service is good. I also really like their decoration.”

It’s been awhile since I ate Denny’s as one of the last times I didn’t have too good of an experience. My husband ordered the new strawberry stuffed French toast and I ordered the breakfast slamburger (I think that’s what it’s called) and pancakes for the kids. Soooooo good! I can’t even tell you the last time I was this happy with my food overall from anywhere but my own kitchen. Everyone was full and satisfied which can be rare for the whole family to experience. Huge shout out to the cook(s) thank you! We ate every last bit :D The manager (she seated us & checked us out) was amazing. She made us feel so welcome. She's definitely the person you want handling customers & would be a great customer service trainer. From beginning to end,we really had an awesome visit. . Our waitress was quick & friendly. She also came back to check on us a couple times. Our food was hot & delicious. The restaurant was very clean inside & out. Reasonably priced. When we left, the manager said "Goodnight fam,we'll see you again soon." “Post lunch milk shake! Clancy's is closed on Wednesdays, and I wasn't going to be denied! We swung over to Loards and got our fix. The shop is in front of their production facility. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. Not sure what happens at night though. We were greeted from the back room as we entered. Apparently, the person who works the counter has other responsibilities as well. She came out very quickly, was friendly and asked how she could help us. The shop is a throwback to ice cream parlors of olde. There was an open case with sodas and a coffin case with plenty of "pints" & "quarts". The flavor menu was on a board above and behind the counter. The service freezer was a older type design where each rectangle and two doors that were hinged and could be opened separately or completely removed from the opening. The doors were not see-through unlike a more contemporary ice cream parlor. She got a Champagne Sherbet Freeze which she thoroughly enjoyed. It started with a new can of Club Soda, the remainder was presented to us when the drink was completed. I got a Coffee Shake. It was all ice cream, no milk. Probably thick enough to stay in the cup upside down and thin enough to go through a straw. Not a bad deal for $5.95. Definitely worth a visit when in the area and craving ice cream! Next time, a Banana Shake with Banana!”

“One of the best fried chicken in a long time. It looks dry but there's a lot of juice and flavor once you get into it. If it was delivered I don't think it would taste as good. The fried cod was good but not great because it wasn't juicy or buttery soft.The cornbread sides were yummy. The Mac and cheese was cheeeeesy and thick and medium spicy. Collard greens were normal. Green beans were sweet and yummy. Fries were normal fries.I asked for tap water since I didn't want a drink and the server looked surprised (and partly disgusted because I wanted faucet water?) and asked if I wanted bottled water instead. I said sure so we could end the conversation and didn't see the charge on the final receipt. I wasn't sure if the server forgot to add it or bottled water is free. Overall not a complaint but if you want to avoid drink confusion, either don't order water or bring your own lol”

“This is basically an 80s/90s restaurant & bakery joint like Coco's, Marie Callender's etc. They are still serving full meals, meaning entrees + soups/salads, with traditional sides galore, along with an extensive list of burgers/sandwiches, Mex-Am comfort food, and good breakfast items. The furniture needs updating for sure, and it'd be nice if veggies weren't steamed to death and there was more seasoning cooked into the food all-around. But you know what? You're going to find something here that pleases everyone, and it's a well-oiled machine that's probably been rolling for decades. Hits the spot.”

“This is old school Mexican restaurant and food and thank goodness it still exists. Maze like interiors with old style decor, frescos on the walls, heavy furniture. Service was great since the guy was very patient. I’ll be honest I did not know what I wanted. They did had some display by the slices. Detroit paesano caught our attention. We also went with their recommend pie they referred. Took the food home and took pics of it. Now for the actual taste. Tried the recommended pizza first. Crust was awesome, crunchy, chewy. The sauce was a sweet marinara,and they had fresh mozzarella. Fresh mozzarella was delicious but I’m not a fan of the marinara.overall I’ll rate that pizza a 6/10. Now for that Detroit pizza. The first bite was divine, savory marinara sauce with pepperoni, meat ball, mushrooms. It was also like a deep dish pizza. It was definitely on point, crispy ,crunch ,chewy crust. 8.5/10, 9/10 when I added their crush red pepper to add a really decent kick.”

I went right to Ciudad Azteca Taqueria to check it out. It's a Family Owned Hole In the Wall Restaurant!!!! The Owner is very Friendly!!!! The Decor is very Cool!!! It Centers around the Owners Father love of Classic Low Rider Vehicles!!! I ordered a Carne Asada Super Burrito to go !!!! Paid by Credit Card! My Super Burrito was made Freshly right in front of me!!! And it was Definitely Super Burrito sized in Length and Girth!!! When I got home it was well Wrapped and still Hot to the touch!!! Flavors were still there and I thoroughly enjoyed the Burrito!!! Definitely a Baller On a Budget Approved Establishment!!!”

I like to devour it soft, but you can try it out toasted as well, either way it will blow your taste buds out of proportion. Hopefully one day they can make a Wheat bread version.”

Entry was side and welcoming and free of stairs.Depending on which door you enter through, the space inside is cavernous and tables and chairs are well spaced out. Wheelchair using guests will not have any trouble getting around in here.A full and well stocked bar was located at the North end of the building while the kitchen was at the West side. The kitchen turned out to be a, seemingly, seperate business called "Porque no? Tacos." it has a vast menu of food items. Everything we tried was overflowing with flavor and obvious care in its presentation. The chips were thick and perfectly seasoned and their salsas, OMG, they were the bomb (delicious).Everything ordered was delicious just as they arrived. However, because of their amazing salsas, every taste was magnified.You order at the counter and get a numbered marker. The food is brought to your table bring shortly after.The staff was friendly and welcoming both at the bar and the kitchen.We lucked out that night, it was a Wednesday night. As we ate and dranked we learned that the place was having karaoke that night. We stayed for that and joined in.Jose, the KDJ was friendly and welcoming and seemingly able to play anything requested (except explicit song - some families were having dinner). The system used for karaoke was impressive and filled the place with sound without overwhelming it. We could easily enjoy our conversation and those singing without any problems.Bottom line, I highly recommend visiting this place. Plus in Oakland/San Leandro/East Bay there are several taqueria options in restaurant or truck forms.I've always enjoyed this place. I usually order their burritos, I'm a bigger fan of burritos than tacos. I usually get their super burrito with al pastor (grilled pork) or shrimp, their super burrito comes with more ingredients like guacamole and sour cream.They have a chip and salsa station which I really enjoy.When I've gone there and ordered for-here, they have a pretty big staff and turnaround orders really quick.They have plenty of seating inside and I've never not been able to find a seat.”
