“Friendly staff. The food is great and the portions are good. They give you a lot of stuff when you order a bento box. The sashimi is good quality, nice, thick, and fresh slices. I would recommend this place if you're looking for Japanese food.”

“A little hidden gem for dim sum. It's a mom and pop shop that serves freshly made dim sum. The prices are reasonable and variety of different types! They also have frozen dumplings.We ordered 4 things from the menu and the total was about $20. Since everything is made to order, there's usually a bit of a wait but worth it for delicious to go dim-sum. Small quite little place.”

“Finally got to order from here. Ended up getting beef combo soup, grilled pork over rice and some banh mi. The pho was very nice and broth not overly salted. The banh mi were pretty good. I would prefer more filling. Affordable and tasty, very easy parking.”

“It's a Friday night. Decided to stop by here before picking up the stepsons from OAK airport. Their flight was delayed. We got here around 10:30 pm. We got parking right across the street. The place was still relatively empty except for folks at the bar. Apparently it's Karaoke night. Some guy was singing "My way" I kid you not (see the video below). The lady and I got a good table. The place filled up within 30 minutes. The clientele reflects the community around San Leandro. Quite diverse. Staff seemed to know the table of bikers that came in. Atmosphere is chill, despite the loud bangers between karaoke songs. DJ was cuttin' it up with Yay Area club classics. We had the lumpia and the lemon pepper strips. Lady had Diet Coke while I had a pint of Sierra Nevada. The staff is friendly and attentive.”

“Family owned, food is great and always fresh. Service is quick and timely and though I have never eaten in the restaurant itself it gives you that "whole -in-the-wall" vibe which everyone knows are the best places to eat. The food and friendly staff reflect that assumption”

“Tried Pinoy's Place near our house, which offers late night Filipino options. It's run by Kusina Ni Javen Jessel, a cooking duo that has primarily focused on catering in the past (and present, I think). The menu's primarily silog dishes (garlic fried rice with egg, vinegar sauce, and the meat of your choice) with roughly ten to choose from. An incredibly tasty complimentary broth helped us pass the time while our entrees cooked--this is a not a busy spot, so everything is cooked to order.Ben had beef (tapsilog) and I had sausage (longganisilog) - I asked for the spicy option, but I'm pretty sure I got the sweet one instead (still tasty!). Prices are good for quite a fair bit of meat! Definitely add the vinegar sauce to the rice for some extra flavor.Bonus points for a refreshing calamansi juice, too.It's nice to have another option for dining after 10pm, when everything but chains has closed up in the 'burbs. I'm hopeful I can try some of their trademark dishes in the future, like bone marrow tacos and a buko pandan dessert cup. But I think it's definitely a spot where you have to take what you can get at that time of night! ?”

“Hidden Gem Cafe! Cozy, great coffee, welcoming, swing chairs!, absolutely delicious food and drinks. Comforting in every way. The staff sincerely cares and they offer creative new drinks and food on a regular basis. “Excellent place to get authentic, great tasting Indian food and the people them are amazing as well, starting with karma, the young guy working there, very professional and pleasant server. The place is very inviting, clean and elegant looking unlike other places I've been to. We ordered samosas for appetizer, lamb curry, goat curry, butter chicken rice and naan. Everything came out looking lovely and the taste was over the top....If I could give them 10 stars I would, it really blew my mind. Keep up the great work Flavors of India!!!!”
