“We often bring out-of-towners here because it's hard to find Laotian food outside of the Bay and Vientian Cafe always delivers. The menu is super extensive and very reasonably priced, so you can try a bunch of new things each time. We always get the nam kao and the lao sausage (which you can also take home frozen). Angel wings are also super addictive.

Food also travels well if you're looking for takeout. One of our favorite spots in the east bay!“

“We were gifted our first ever Bake Sum box. After trying just one bite of a Yuzu meringue bun I knew I needed more. Ordered our second BSB last week and shared amongst the roomies, huge hit. Well baked, not too sweet, great flavor combinations. 10/10 would recommend the Bake Sum box. If you can’t grab a box, you can grab al a cart day of pick ups just to tide you over until you can get a box 😋“

“We are new to the area and so far have had pizza from Bluebirds twice. First time my husband went and picked it up, the second we ate in. This is some of the best pizza we have ever had and my husband is from Philly. I’ve had pizza in NYC and this was better. Few tables inside but worth eating in, they have an unusual selection of beers and non alcoholic drinks. If you have never had Bluebirds, you have to eat there.“

“Tio's is about to become my regular haunt. I came in a few weeks ago and had a shawarma wrap with hummus and baba ganoush, and it was so incredibly good I was seeing stars. Today I ordered the veg sampler appetizer and the chicken beriani, and once again it's so good I nearly fell out of my chair. The beriani is so unlike anything I've had before, and I can't get enough of it. The falafel is the absolute best I've ever had - crunchy outside but perfectly moist inside. “Kaisen Don is a true joy. Owned and led by a trained chef from Japan and served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have a wide selection of food, not just sushi. They have a very good selection of Sake and beer and offer three sample flights of Sake to let you learn more about the drink. You can always ask for recommendations to go with your meal. We've eaten in and taken out and have never had a bad meal from Kaisen Don. They are a regular stop for my family, and we take friends and family there from time to time as well.“

“I got superb service the other day. I am a regular shopper here and made plans to do Passover shopping myself but as the coronavirus outbreak came along my plans have changed. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get all my shopping done in time and get everything I need for the holiday. I emailed Yuval my shopping list with all my special requests and got top of the live service. My order was ready the next day and Yuval did not miss a thing! He took the time to go over the whole order with me to make sure I have everything I want and need. The naan bread was SO good, crispy and chewy and fresh. I had the veggie korma, my coworkers had chicken curry dishes, we all had rice, everyone was delighted. I got a mango lasse to go and it too was fantastic. Our waiter was very nice too and we were served quickly. Total stroke of luck to wind up in front of this place, since we all want to go again soon.“

“YESSSSS. Nearly perfect. I’m from NJ. I grew up on NYC and Philly Italian delis and boars head delis everywhere. I believe that access to a respectable deli is a basic human right. Yet every deli on the west coast manages to screw up a very simple staple food item… the sub, the hoagie, the grinder… whatever you wanna call it. NOT brothers deli. They have a solid list of ingredients and allow totally custom sandwiches. They have semolina (sesame) rolls. They have mortadella, they let you order fresh mozzarella or roasted red peppers on your sandwich. They don’t try to put pastrami on an Italian sub. I could go on and on.

They. Do. It. Right. Period. Go and get you some!
