Kaisen Don Reviews
Kaisen don offers customers an exceptional variety of authentic Japanese food, a serene setting, and outstanding service from Maney: our favorite server/hospitality goddess extraordinaire. She's consistently attentive, responsive, professional, dedicated, and accommodating regardless of how busy she may be. While we usually dine on Sunday nights, we went on a very busy Saturday evening and although she was absolutely swamped, we still received stellar service as always. Maney...read full review

Kaisen Don offers delicious food with speedy service and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the lack of wasabi for the pig's feet, the sushi was fresh and flavorful, with melt-in-your-mouth sashimi that is hard to find elsewhere. The staff creates a homely feel and serves dishes promptly. The homemade miso soup and pickled vegetable appetizer are highlights, along with the Broadmoor, Sunset, and Jalapeño Salmon rolls. The decor features nice Japanese architecture, adding to the authentic ambience. The restaurant provides both a menu book and QR code options, allowing guests to see what their food looks like. The raw fish is consistently fresh, and the sushi trays, especially the sushi trays for 2 people, are highly recommended for their large cuts and just the right amount of food. The entrees like the Dragon roll and Sunset roll are also popular, with reviews praising the quality and freshness of sashimi and chirashi don. While it is a bit expensive, many find it worth the special occasion visit. Overall, with excellent service, good atmosphere, and top-quality sashimi, this East Bay sushi house is highly recommended for a top-notch Japanese dining experience.
