“Finally! I've found a great, authentic Filipino restaurant nearby. The bangus sisig was fire and tastes like something my mom would make at home. We had it with garlic rice which came in a cute little kaldero. Small details like that made our experience feel the familiar feeling of home. There's even a kareoke machine inside :) Going to tell my friends about Parekoy! I'm excited to come back and try more.“
“We had a day trip in Oakland and was looking for a Filipino restaurant prior to our departure back to LA. I stumbled across Pistahan and from the yelp reviews I needed to check it out for myself. To my surprise amongst the many Al a carte menu they had a Filipino buffet the day we went. For around $20+. They had a variety of dishes ranging from all type of different proteins (beef, chicken, fish and pork) with all of those staple dishes from Kare-kare, Dinuguan, menudo, pancit, adobo, kaldereta, lumpia , sweet and sour fish and for dessert they had Ginataang bilo bilo and champorado a chocolate rice porridge. Each of the dishes we had were flavorful and tastes homemade. Hands down one of the best Filipino buffets I've been to! The place is clean, with ample seating, located in a strip mall. there is something for everyone. So if you're looking for some Filipino comfort food. Be sure to check this restaurant out.“
“Easily our favorite find since our daughter started school at UC Berkeley. The people there are so down to earth so kind. The food is amazing all the empenadas we have had are delicious. The Boba drinks there are so different than your run of the mill Boba “
“incredible spot to get delicious vegan and gf food, they have great politics and everyone who works there is hot ? the food is beyond deliciousVegetarian options: always so many delicious vegan options !!Dietary restrictions: great for any dietary restrictions i am vegan and gluten free“
“Getting some Pinay/Pinoy Food Back home ? in the Bay Area was a real treat ! This place was fire ?!!! Lucky ? 3 7, is definitely ? a spot to check out if your Town (Oakland) Bound. Support this Delicious ? food Spot that’s literally a hidden Gem ?. I will be back trying more awesome food ! ? #Authentic #Delicious #Yummy !!!“
“A newfound love for filipino food. We really loved the Tofu Adobo with Garlic Rice had a rich umami flavor paired with nice creamy sauce. The glass noodles I would skip. The deep fried pork is fine, sometimes feels overcooked to me.The interior is nice. I’d love to come back and try the drinks and their desserts.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get in.“
“I had a party for my birthday and last minute was gifted some money to get some catering a few days before. I've enjoyed the Lumpia Company for years and they were the immediate choice! We had 4 different flavors, Bacon Cheeseburger, Turkey Veggie, Pork Shrimp Shanghai and Peach Mango. Along with Adobo Wings (spicy and regular) also a large order of Pancit. Everything was great! It was delivered on time and everyone was thrilled. Max who helped me with ordering and invoicing was great. I definitely recommend. 10 out of 10.“
“We have now been here several times. This the perfect 1/2 way point between picking my son and going home. It is across from the Coast Guard Island. The location is safe. Plenty of parking. We come for the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue and friendly service. Everything is great! Especially when the mother-in-law makes a surprise visit and cooks up her specialty pansit (not on the menu). Everything is fresh and cooked (and barbecued) with love. I think we’ve tried everything now. My favorite is toss between the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue Banh Mi sandwich and “THANK QUE” chicken bowl. There are a few tables inside and when the weather is nice, plenty of seating outside. I look forward to hearing live music in the future out there.Parking: Parking is shared with the charter school during weekday school hours. Take notice of parents, zooming in/out of their designated entrance and exit at the end of the school day!“
“First time, it was a great experience. The brightness of the business color was cool as I rode past They had the garage doors open and I noticed they have a nice long bar in the back area of the place. I parked and walked in to see the huge bright menu. They must known I was blind lol ? but I never been in and stood there hungry and intimidated by this cool big menu that sounds so great when you're hungry, everything sounded good, until a few orders came out and the gentleman nicely explained what they were and I got the rice bowl with the pork, with fried egg was fire ? it just enough to satisfy my appetite and I didn't need to take anything home. It was just enough, very tasty with the little interesting salad. I don't know what it was, but it was damn good, check my pictures.“
“UPDATE: Had the tosilog again and it was very good like last time so it's good to know they cook consistently. Very impressed with how well they cook the sunnyside-up eggs. Love to pop the eggs over my garlic rice. So it seems the silogs don't come with a dipping vinegar sauce. I asked for one and they gave it to me for free. Talked to the staff and they're super nice. Will come back to try the other items here.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Tosilog was solid. Tocino wasn't overly fatty or lean, and not greasy. Love how they give you two nicely cooked sunnyside eggs. What I didn't like is they forgot to pack the vinegar dipping sauce. Good to check for next time. Will come back again.“
“Best Filipino food in oakland. Super authentic Bangus. Only thing is I wish they’d eventually have their own restaurant instead of a ghost kitchen but I will keep ordering from here because it’s just so good. But I respect that restaurants are expensive and that these folks are doing what they can because the food is so worth it.“
“What we had was good quality. Diniguan, palabok, fried tilapia with (Java rice (okay)not the best. and my fav pinakbet. Everything was good. I haven’t been there for 5 years, but still decent stuff for what we had. Not sure about others on the menu. First opened May 2004.B.TW Is there a Toppings 1? Hint, now is the best for veggie dishes as they are coming out. April…As always, post whatever your palate takes you.“
“Tried Pinoy's Place near our house, which offers late night Filipino options. It's run by Kusina Ni Javen Jessel, a cooking duo that has primarily focused on catering in the past (and present, I think). The menu's primarily silog dishes (garlic fried rice with egg, vinegar sauce, and the meat of your choice) with roughly ten to choose from. An incredibly tasty complimentary broth helped us pass the time while our entrees cooked--this is a not a busy spot, so everything is cooked to order.Ben had beef (tapsilog) and I had sausage (longganisilog) - I asked for the spicy option, but I'm pretty sure I got the sweet one instead (still tasty!). Prices are good for quite a fair bit of meat! Definitely add the vinegar sauce to the rice for some extra flavor.Bonus points for a refreshing calamansi juice, too. It's nice to have another option for dining after 10pm, when everything but chains has closed up in the 'burbs. I'm hopeful I can try some of their trademark dishes in the future, like bone marrow tacos and a buko pandan dessert cup. But I think it's definitely a spot where you have to take what you can get at that time of night! ?“
“Actually SO yummy. My friend and I shared the mochiko chicken plate. The mac salad is well seasoned, above your average mac salad from the salad bar. The kale, tomato, and cucumber was drenched in such yummy sauce as well (idk what it was but it had a hint of sweetness which liked) and the star of the show, the CHICKEN. Absolutely glorious. The only thing have had that can realy compare it to is a perfect karage. It is so tender, juicy, and the perfect amount of crispy. The sauce and rice are given in just the right portions to compliment this mouthwatering chicken. The staff was also really kind, adding to the overall welcoming and relaxed mood of the place. The inside is well decorated with some good times playing along with two indoor seating areas. The rest of the seating is outside with these umbrellas for sunny days so it is pretty open to you and your friends to chill and hang out for however long you want. Outside, there is self-served water as well as a bar for drinks but is still family friendly. The place is also overall well kept, being very clean. The vibes of the place were overall good and very enjoyable. The size of this meal is pretty hefty, it is $17 after all. It is so good though could eat up the whole thing myself but probably be on the verge of exploding at the end so would definitely recommend to share with a friend or you could save the rest for later. However, I definitely want to return to try more of their menu.“
“Big Shout Out to this Establishmennt!!!!I only had cash and not enough money on my Debit Card. The owner gave me the Pulled Pork Adobo Sandwich and said to pay him next time. I can't wait to go back and show him my appreciation......AND the Sandwich was AMAZING!THANK YOU CAFE GABRIELA✨️??❤️“
“This place is a sweet little Gem! Definitely go when there’s an outdoor party in the backyard. Like Disco Dountz for EDM (w/ their family friendly gigs.) I wish I had the cool parents to take me here when I was little! People dress up, adults have fun, dodge the occasional tricycle, and it’s a dj’d outdoor playground for all! Parking nearby is cool too. It’s a noon-8 scene.“
“Owner is a SUPER lovely lady who has a beautiful atmosphere place. With yummy goodness items that are made with love then just mass produced quicky food that you can get near by. It's more than just getting some food. It's like going over to your favorite Lola(grandma)house.Kid-friendliness: She treats my son like one of her grandkids.“
“We stopped here on our honeymoon back in June 2021. I still think about about this food almost every day. Hands down the best greens, mac n cheese, and yams I have EVER eaten. It is magical. I just want to move to Oakland and live upstairs so I can't have it all the time. ???“
“Every Bay Area Filipino's go-to for Filipino street food. The place is really nice inside and staff are very friendly. The food is good as well, can't go wrong. If you're not Filipino and feeling adventurous, wanting to try this for the first time, you can always start off with the standard bbq meat or hotdogs. All the meat is technically already cooked, you're just grilling/charring it unlike the authentic ones in the Philippines.“
“I have been going here on and off for 15 years now. Great turo turo style filipino food, affordable too! the filipina ladies that takes your order are so nice and give generous amounts of tasty filipino dishes. I love their pork bbq, sisig and chicharon bulaklak. A must try for people who love filipino food.“
“stumbled across this place one night looking for a quick bite and ended up spending the entire night there instead of our original plans and loved it so much, we went back a week later and are going to book the upstairs venue for my partners bday next month!Where do i even begin! the community kitchen concept is inspiring and revolutionary and i’ve seen them feed people who are unable to afford their meals multiple times as well as customers paying more than suggested on their sliding scale menu to cover the cost of others. it’s such a beautiful and noble form of mutual aid and i really hope it’s successful!Dora at the counter took such good care of us and the food was DELISH! the level of care and service and the love the food is made with makes you feel like you’re eating a home cooked meal. Dora’s energy was so infectious and bright and she ended up preparing us tofu and mushroom adobo and a dino nugget bowl with an egg and rice that i’m still thinking about. the second time we went, the menu had changed and i can’t recommend the coco mojo potatoes and birthday cake bibingka any more highly! the only downside is they’ve been out of the lumpia both times i’ve gone and i’m dying to try it! GREAT vegan and vegetarian options but proportions aren’t the biggest so order one of everything! If you haven’t been to an event at the speakeasy-style Baba’s House, you’re missing out on one of the most unique cozy-night-OUT experiences in the east bay. the living room-esque lounge and majong den has the charm of a house party with the excitement of a venue. We ended up wandering into an open jam sesh with local musicians halfway through the night, my partner couldn’t help but join them. the walls are lined in yummy asian snacks and there’s a big fridge full of beverages with some of the best non-alcoholic options i’ve seen + beer, wine, and a bar for cocktails. It’s so fun to cozy up on the couch and experience live music 6 ft in front of you and a sensory HEAVEN of ambient lighting. The owners Jenn and Alan are so welcoming and make perfect hosts for the various events that happen in the space. while the space upstairs is not ada accessible, they helped carry my partners wheelchair up and down the stairs which was very kind.We can’t wait to attend many more ever and in the space and throw our own event there next month!Vegetarian options: half the menu is vegetarian/vegan!“
“Had to come back to this spot! It's a must whenever I'm in the area. I got the pizza again because it's a banger! My buddy got their wings and he says they're crispy AND juicy. Fresh food, service with a smile. I wish they were closer to my home. Can't wait to come back AGAIN AND AGAIN“
“I haven't been here in quite a while so the entrance to the place has changed. The old entrance was more welcoming than the current one. It feels like there is construction going on and that we had to deal with it. However, that isn't what this review is about.I have to say that the food we had was still of the same quality. It makes me feel I don't have to go to the Philippines to experience food this good that it makes me feel.like I'm home in my home away from home.I get the impression that the people who run the place have kept up with the food trends back home and have shared it with us here very well.I will definitely make more of an effort to come back and ask "What's new!?" whebI do return.“
“My friends and I went there to eat lunch today. Food was really good. It was my first time there and it won't be my last. I will definitely bring my family to eat here. Place is clean and they have a cute decorative place to sit and take pictures.“
“Seafood City is a fantastic destination for those seeking fresh seafood and a wide variety of Asian groceries. The store offers a diverse selection of fish, shellfish, and other seafood options, making it a go-to place for seafood lovers. Additionally, it stocks an extensive range of Asian ingredients, snacks, and specialty products, catering to the diverse culinary preferences of its customers. The store is known for its vibrant and bustling atmosphere, often reflecting the cultural diversity of the communities it serves. Overall, Seafood City is a must-visit for anyone interested in exploring Asian cuisine or seeking high-quality seafood.“
“Went here twice, once to dine in and once for takeout. The staff is so nice and accommodating and the food is so delicious! We had the bangus, the adobo rice, laing, lechon, and the bbq chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious - really quality Filipino food here!“
“This place is a must! From the moment I walked in, the entire team was so nice and welcoming. They gave me ideas for what to eat and it was still a tough decision because everything looks delicious.Ultimately went with the longaniza and loved my choice. The quantity is pretty big but as someone who loves to eat, this is my favorite problem to have. The taste was spectacular and experience reminded me of home.Highly recommend.“
“Loved the authentic Filipino Cuisine. I felt like I was in Quezon City. I'm going to revisit this place again. To be specific on Friday November 3rd. I can't wait!Vegetarian options: You have to inquire within each shopParking: No issues in finding parking.“
“My go-to spot for dinner. I love the liemposilog and my bf gets the tapasilog. It around $11-12 per meal and super filling. The vinegar they provide with each meal is super good! I can get this everyday if I could afford eating out everyday haha“
