“Food is better than most restaurants that offer Filipino food in the area. We had black rice, sisig bangus, and bulalo. Everything was cooked just right, except for the black rice. It's good but we were looking to taste more of the squid ink. Overall we liked how the food was cooked, not too salty, with just the right flavor to taste. At first we were hesitant to go there because our previous experience (years ago) wasn't that good. But the NEW OWNERS definitely turned things around and made it a go-to place for us now. We are planning on being regulars at this resto.“
“This location is my favorite Max's around the area. I really like that their service & the quality of their filipino food. Everything comes out freshly cooked & you can tell that they put in effort cooking all their dishes. It gets busy especially during weekends, but their service is pretty fast, so wait time hasn't ever been a problem. The ambiance inside looks just like every other Max's restaurant especially the ones from the Philippines (where Max's was originally from).“
“I missed Goldilocks in the Philippines and this did not disappoint. The food was fresh and masarap (delicious). Sweet treats and delicacies abound. They even have frozen foods to make at home like Siopai, shomai, and lumpia. Plenty of parking and friendly staff.“
“Food was so flavorful! We ordered fish, beef calderetta and the garlic rice with pickled veggies on the side, one of the best meals I’ve had in a while from a restaurant! Service was a little slow, it took about 20 minutes for us to get our drinks from when we sat down but the waitress was nice so we didn’t mind much. Atmosphere is a little loud, I think they rent out half of their restaurant for parties and events and there was one going on that night, but that’s also a good thing, I’ll keep them in mind next time I have an event lol.All in all, I’d go there again because the food was top tier!“
“After a day of running errands, family decided to stop by Grill City for a quick lunch. The Filipino food here is so good! the Pompano fish, Pork liempo and Squid were all grilled perfectly delicious! The soup dishes were a great portion. We enjoyed our visit. The staff is very nice, helpful and patient as we figure what we want since there's so many mouth watering choices! Indoor seating only. Lots of tables available. It's located at the food court of Seafood City grocery store, there's other food places as well to choose from. Sinigang was super Sarap =)“
“Crispy pata? More like Crispy mata since flavors like that can kill. Whatever your idea of great tasting food is, forget it. Your taste buds are in for an education the moment you try the food here. Decor is a little dated, but maybe that's what grants the hometown Filipino appeal.“
“We love supporting small business restaurants and we are glad they're still open! This is one of our favorite Filipino restaurant in the area. Everything we ate/ordered here never dissapoints. Love their sisig bangus, breakfast combos, soups and veggies! If you haven't been here yet, I highly recommend it!“
“Such an easy 5/5. One of the tastiest and most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in SF. The price is very reasonable for the experience you get. The chefs are incredibly kind and shared their stories about the food. I can’t wait to go back.“
“I found this place when I was searching for a special/unique birthday cake that I have never tried before. The halo halo cake caught my attention instantly. I personally love eating halo halo so I was super excited to surprise my boyfriend with it. I pre-ordered it ahead of time. Store pickup was easy. The overall halo halo cake taste was good but felt something is missing. Maybe we just prefer the halo halo dessert more than a cake form but definitely recommend to give it a try.“
