“The best vegan food Best ever service-our family go to for family events and every day dining ❤️”
“Delicious breakfast! Found Conchita by chance on way home from airport. We were starving and the “Los Dennys” (pancakes, eggs, bacon) was fantastic. Great friendly service. Love the cute coffee mugs and attractive table settings.”
“Let's start with the amazing food I had ,lets add the perfect service that it was provided by Marta Melendez, her smile and attitude was the best part ! Thank you Marta for your excellent service, the food was amazing ?! Marta keep the smile on her face ,even that I was a super busy day she was making us feel happy with her service! A big plus ,for the restaurant for having people like Marta!”
“We travelled from Maryland to experience San Francisco, found this local restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, and decided to give it a try. It was well worth it! The staff was accommodating, attentive and very friendly. The food was exceptional! If you haven’t tried Mediterranean cuisine or love it, this is the place for you!”

“The best Shabu in San Jose and located in the perfect part of San Jose in Japantown, we love coming here to eat Shabu, it is so delicious. I highly recommend it *****five stars the owner Richard treat’s us great with so much hospitality, we just feel so welcomed and will continue to frequent his establishment.”

“The best food i have ever have. The Kurdish guy was very very very extra very kind. When he knew that I am from Kuwait and spoke Arabic, he invited me to have tea and kunafa with ice cream and stuffed with saffron. The kunafa was very delicious. I really recommend this restaurant.”
“The food here is good and so is the coffee. They offer açaí bowls, breakfast options, and a bakery that is completely Brazilian. So if you’re Latino and want to try something different from the usual spots, this is a great choice. The dishes are very healthy and while this location doesn’t have an espresso machine, so coffee options are somewhat limited, what they do have is tasty.
If you’re planning to order by phone, make sure to call ahead as it can get pretty busy and your order might take a while. Overall, it’s a good café, affordable, flavorful, and a nice break from the typical spots. If you’re in the mood for something non-traditional, give it a try.”

“I just had a chai tea latte with almond milk and a breakfast croissant sandwich (egg, cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce) at Antigua Coffee Shop. The ladies here are so kind, the Christmas decorations are everything, and they’re playing Christmas music. If this is your favorite holiday and you’re in the city I’d check them out. 10/10 I’ll be back to try the banana French toast and omelettes.”

“We stopped here while waiting to catch our flight because we had a while. It was super chill and a fun place. They had old pinball machines that we played and the ambiance was very cool and relaxed. Food was so yummy. Got the flatbread pizza and some fries to share. Very satisfied.”
“Villa del Sol specialty is the Argentine asado (Argentine BBQ), I highly recommend their grill asado for two. It comes with a variety of meat, chicken, pork, sausages & sweetbread.”
Outdoor Dining
“I'm a sucker for old-fashioned diners, the ones that seem stuck in time, stubbornly holding on to nostalgia when it was king in its glory days, back before chain restaurants and cookie-cutter decor and brands.
They hold a special allure when you're traveling down the byways where they still thrive, but they're especially precious when you find them in urban areas where they compete with fast-food conglomerates.
So I don't take places like Gunter's for granted, an old establishment (South San Francisco) in the midst of urban blandness of homogeneity. They're still places where old men gather swapping tall tales and spar politics over Farmer Brothers coffee brand to while their time away.
This genre seems to be a fleeting gem of Americana as I see many of them boarded up and closed down even along the blue highways. So in your travels, take a moment to patronize these places before too many of them disappear as victims of people's preference for national brands and indifference.”

“Place was not that busy on a Memorial Day Monday, so I was able to order my food right away and the food was not that expensive. Worker who took my order was very nice. Food came out quick. Got a Carne Asada taco that was delicious. Didn’t even take a picture because it jumped in my belly. Burrito was decent, good flavor but I wish they put more meat in it. It was packed, but I found myself trying to conserve the meat to make it last for other bites. Salsa bar was cool with the huge selection to choose from. Other than that, I would come back and definitely order more tacos.”
“Speedy's is our go to for the occasional Pizza crave. Huge slices with high quality cheese make this place a I go back to every few weeks. We usually get the veggie pizza and we love it (which is rare for me to say). Service is good and fast...just order and wait in your car. The only detail they could work on is consistency of flavor. Usually its the the salt but thats an easy fix.”
“Last week, my friends and I went to Traverse for a catch-up session during their happy hour, and we had a blast. We enjoyed playing table shuffleboard, which added a fun, competitive edge to our evening. Sipping on wine from their well-curated collection made the experience even better. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed yet lively gathering, and we all left with great memories. Traverse is definitely a spot worth revisiting for its enjoyable activities and excellent wine selection!”
“Kamu Sushi in South San Francisco is a cozy, small gem that really makes every visit special. Their beer and sake is top-notch and pairs beautifully with the meal. The extra spicy edamame is a fiery delight, while the seafood options like lobster and mussels are impeccably fresh. The nigiri and Spicy Spider Roll round out an unforgettable culinary experience. A must-visit for an intimate evening of great food and drink. Cheers!”

“Living just two blocks away, I made it a weekly ritual to dine here, and it remains my absolute favorite spot for street tacos. While I miss the salsa bar, a casualty of the pandemic, it was heartening to find the tacos tasting just as delicious as they did six years ago during my recent work trip. It's reassuring to see that this gem is still thriving.”
“The pho, noticeably fragrant. 20 hours of simmering evident in the deepness of taste, buttery from the marrow drawn from bones. Clean and translucent broth, an indicator of quality. The wait time, a result of perfectly boiled-to-order rice noodles. What’s missing in decor is over-compensated by taste. Come for a rare-find bowl of solid noodle soup — no frills, but very simply delicious.”
“Stopped by The Anecdote at Oyster Point for some drinks and bites after work—great spot! The bar has a cool vibe with awesome bay views. I had the mushroom empanadas, sliders, and a local beer—they all hit the spot. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and solid bar food. Definitely a gem if you’re in the area.”
“I've been staying and working in South San Francisco this week without a car. Have dined there for lunch 2 days in a row now, and both days I also brought back dinner to my hotel for the evening. Everything has been delicious with fresh ingredients. Really creative and elevated offerings for a quick service restaurant. The salmon was especially amazing! I had 2 really dismal experiences earlier in the week with Doordash and only wish I had tried Foundry & Lux sooner. I'll be back tomorrow before heading back home on Saturday 😀”
“I like this place. Basic, no frills, Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the Shrimp Noodle soup. Large bowl of veggies' shrimp and super hot broth. Noodles on the side in the to go orders. Such nice noodles. Cooked perfectly so they finish cooking when you add them to the hot broth. Highly recommended. All of the other Hawaiian BBQ dishes also on the menu. Not much on atmosphere though.”
“I just had Chinese food from the New Dragon Garden delivered to my residence. The food here was so good. This is another great Chinese restaurant. The chicken chow main was so good and literally filled me right up. I highly recommend people try this place if they are ever in daily city. I may order some food from this restaurant again sometime. I give them 5 stars ⭐️”
“Sooooooooo good!!!! Everything is literally so tasty. Can’t wait to eat here again soon! Thank you for showing me my first chica morada drink! So refreshing and delicious!”

24 Hour Restaurants
“We had a 5-hour layover in San Fran late at night when the airport restaurants were all closed. So we ubered to the closest IHOP open all night. I know it's late at night but our server never smiled or said thank you. One time. Food was good. Restaurant was clean. Service was fast.”
“Do you remember? We used to have a Denny's in Japantown SF. That place was great for a meal after clubbing and seeing the same people you just partied with. That was the best part, seeing familiar faces. Fast forward to today. Coffee is $4.29. We had the T-bone steak and eggs $23.19, berry vanilla crepe breakfast $17 and chicken fried steak breakfast $18. The food was OK. The service was a bit slow because the place was full at lunchtime. Overall, not bad. Good job crew at Denny's.”
“A perfect site for relax a have a good time with your friends or just drinks!!!”
“This Cajun and Chinese food mixed is unique and special. The food is excellent and well prepared. The dumplings are the best and very well prepared, better than other places and you have the soup inside each dumpling, which is well done. And the green string Beans was at the right tenderness. The problem is the parking… and the location is not the best
Parking: Parking is difficult to find but every other city is the same”
“I've worked with BTB and Feda many times now and I'm never disappointed. Excellent variety to fit all dietary restrictions. Flavorful, nutritious options. And super communicative, clear, and easy to work with. I'd recco Beyond the Border to anyone planning a casual, fun event.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Mike & Ken’s Deli, my son wanted a turkey sandwich, we drove to Little Luca, it was 5:30 PM. The place closed at 4:00PM. We drove around after looking for a sandwich place open, the map suggest to try the Mike & Ken’s Deli. I was happy to see a couple of Cop vehicles outside the deli, (always a good sign that the food is good) there was a few orders ahead and it was 11 minutes for
my turn. My son went for the Turkey and Provolone sandwich on soft roll, they were out of it so we went for the warmed sourdough instead. Nice people making the sandwich with large selection of salads, breakfast and sandwiches. The deli is like a small liquor store serving beer with lottery ticket machine available.”
“I don’t normally give 5 star ratings but feel this place deserves it. It’s a hidden gem in downtown South San Francisco that serves authentic, unpretentious Salvadoran (and Mexican) food. The pupusas (we had the ones with pork, cheese and beans) were absolutely delicious and inexpensive. They go well with the house coleslaw and the mild chili sauce. The Salvadoran enchiladas (more like tacos) were very good as well. The best part of this restaurant is the staff, who are warm, generous, and kind. They really make you feel this is neighborhood place. We will definitely return to sample more items on the menu.
Parking: Paid street parking in front of the restaurant”

“I had a pastrami on dutch crunch bread and provolone cheese. All their sandwiches are great and I really like their garlic mayo. The also have an area that makes burgers, fries, onion rings, things of that nature. They also have good assortment of chips and drinks. great place for lunch”
“This food truck is worth a stop if you're wanting delicious tacos, tortas, and burritos. I have not been disappointed. They offer a variety of drinks including a strawberry horchata. I appreciate the fast and friendly service and delicious Mexican food. Atmosphere rating technically doesn't apply.
They generally park in a shaded area, so you can wait for your food in the shade.”

“A very good place if you like Italian breads and baked goods. I usually buy at least 3 whole focaccia bread every time I visit. My favorites are pepperoni, artichoke garlic, pepperoni and sausage, pesto, and feta cheese and garlic. The breads are tasty with the aroma of spices, cheeses they use and freshness of the bread. They rotate the ingredients so it never gets boring. I also love the jalapeño bread rolls, ham and cheese croissants, cookies and pastries. I never had anything I didn't like here. A small family business with a big heart. You can see lots of repeat customers always telling you what they always buy. Give them a try and you will become a regular...”
“The cupcakes tasted delicious, especially the Dulce Salted Egg. They were spongy, moist, and right level of sweetness. The ube latte is a must. I tried it without boba or coconut jelly because did not want these toppings to influence or override the drink. Very satisfied!”

“This place was recommended to me by a coworker and I decided to give it a shot after work. Upon arrival, I was greeted by one of their friendly and welcoming staffs, it was early so it was not too packed. Their menu is simple and straightforward, I was really hungry at the time. Everything is made to order which I did not mind the wait since I’m a very patient person. A lot of locals come to this place which is a good sign and they have been in business for over 30 years which is rare nowadays for classic joints like this one. Also they open 6 days a week from 0700 hours to 1430 hours and closed on Tuesdays. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great place for breakfast or just a laid back spot. I definitely will be back to try out the different items they have to offer.”
“We invited Red Sauce to cater a staff appreciation party and it was delicious! Great meatballs, salads and pasta. Chicken Parm was excellent as well. Will call them again for future events...”
“This is a family run business that makes the best food! Homemade ravioli, soup, bread and sauces for you to take home to cook and enjoy! We stopped by and picked up a little bit of everything. Highly recommended and we will stop here every time we come up this way! Thank you Haight Family for your delicious food and awesome friendly service.
Parking: This is not a restaurant. You buy the food to cook and enjoy at home.”

“This is the place to get a Great Deli Sandwich. They also serve burgers too. They have a great salad bar as well. It's in an industrial park area off of Harbor street, so parking can be tight. I will definitely hit this place up again when I'm in South San Francisco near the airport 😃😃😃”
“I was seated right away during lunch time and it wasn't too busy. My favorite and reason for my visit was to have the torikawa (chicken skin skewers) I also had the Bento with the shrimp tempura and shioyaki salmon. Everything was delicious 😋 I almost forgot to take photos as I was hungry lol... price was also reasonable.”
“Love The Hangar and so happy it opened as I’m lucky enough to work next door. Everything I’ve ordered so far has been high quality and tasty. I’ve tried the salad bar, tuna melt and japchae noodles. I find the prices reasonable for the area and quality. The entire space is very well decorated and designed. Can’t wait for the bar to open upstairs, check out the upstairs patio too. Oh also the coffee bar is really good too, thanks Eugene!”
“The food here is amazing. I'm not a review leaver but this food was so good I had to say something. The salmon was incredible for such an affordable price. Staff were so kind and patient with me while I looked over the menu. Everything is so fresh. If I could come down here every day I would. So amazing 10/10 perfect lunch spot or post workout meal. Cannot wait to come back. #obsessssed”
“I would say this as one of the best thai food places in the South San Francisco area. I tried tom yum soup, panag curry & iced coffee which all turned out to be delicious.
Especially the quality of panag curry was good.
The dine in space is small and service was pretty fast.”
“I've been here a few times, and I recently brought my mom. It's her favorite Filipino restaurant now. We've ordered and enjoyed: lumpia, chopsuey, beefstik tagalog, and pansit miki bihon combo. Our latest visit, we tried the Hawaiian oxtail soup. The meat was tender, and the broth was light and flavorful. And we always get my favorite dessert: mini bibingka, always warm and yummy.”

“Amazing craft roasted coffee. Owner Marcel and the baristas always take time to tell you about the roast and suggest a blend. If you're familiar with Ikon from a farmer's market, it's definitely worth a trip to the cafe, which is located in the roastery. The pour-overs (only available at the cafe) and the chill atmosphere make the cafe my favorite go-to coffee place.”

“Good chicken tenders - piping hot and crispy. Fries are sorta meh - not crispy enough and a little too thick for my liking. Dipping sauces have nice variety and the Star sauce and truffle aioli were both delicious. Ordered from a kiosk so basically no human interaction.”
“Oh my goodness. Such a gem in the rough. Amazing food in the middle of an industrial area. I'm an old fat white guy, and the meal defeated me. For the first time in a long time, I needed a doggy bag. The Shawarma were delicious as were the pickled veggies and cole slaw. The Arabic coffee was to die for. So rich and thick!”
