“Superb cappuccino and cortado prepared by an expert barista in clean minimalist space. Both beverages exhibited strong notes of expertly roasted beans with rich crema that lingered on the palate. The cortado exhibited an intoxicating taste that rivals the best we’ve ever tasted - and we sample plenty across the US and beyond. Much attention has been devoted to the interior which is adorned with live plant and decorated with tasteful combination of tile and natural woods which maximizes the small space.Should have hired the designer to do my kitchen. There is no seating on site. Barista Rowby is a master of his metier and efficiently serves a line of patrons, many of whom were welcomed personally by counter person Gigi. Pride of ownership bounds with a variety of fun stickers and branding item. Roasted beans are available on site which is a big plus for me. Dead Eye rises to the top echelon of Bay Area coffee establishments and deserves to be on your map.Parking: Parking is tight so be patient to receive your reward“

Ube Macapuno
Ube Langka

“Binka Bites offers delicious little binkies, cupcake versions of the classic Filipino dessert bibingka which is a baked sweet rice cake with coconut milk. They have other pastries as well including mochi donuts and some savory items, plus a drink menu. Pulled up on a Thursday afternoon to purchase some desserts. It was my first time at this location and I was surprised that it was just an order window. Some items were sold out including the classic binka bite and savories. I ordered the guava and ube mochi donuts, as well as the following binkies: ube macapuno (coconut), ube flan, mango, churro and oreo. The donuts were so soft and tasty. The binka bites were delicious as well. I didn't try them all but highly recommend the ube flan!“

Boudin Bakery, catering only Bakery • $$
328 Littlefield Ave, South San Francisco

“Who doesn't love getting things at Boudin? I got the turtle at Boudin to make a sandwich the next day! Service was smooth. I wouldn't say they were the most friendly, but the weekends are busy and maybe they were stressed. They got the job done. The bread was delicious. It's Fisherman's Square. It was crowded. But we weren't there for the ambiance. We were there to buy baked goods!“

Auntie EM's Fine Foods & Pastries Bakery • $
1127 El Camino Real, South San Francisco

“I found this place when I was searching for a special/unique birthday cake that I have never tried before. The halo halo cake caught my attention instantly. I personally love eating halo halo so I was super excited to surprise my boyfriend with it. I pre-ordered it ahead of time. Store pickup was easy. The overall halo halo cake taste was good but felt something is missing. Maybe we just prefer the halo halo dessert more than a cake form but definitely recommend to give it a try.“
