“My family stumbled upon this place by pure luck since my elementary school was located up the hill & we were drawn in by the enticing smell from the fresh focaccia breadI fell in love with the flavor at first bite, had to fend off my classmates asking to have some. Since then I've made a few trips a year to visit this neighborhood treasure and have been transported in time to my childhood every time I come back.I mean seriously, how many businesses do you know of that only sell one thing, close early in the day, and run out of many items before noon forcing people to line up in the freezing morning cold to ensure their favorite is in stock...and STILL has the undying love of their customers?!?“

“Local neighborhood bakery, well priced, short line out the door by the time I checked out. Will be back to try their breads and other pastries! ??This review is for the cookies ? ONLY.Got the cinnamon shortbread and variety cookie bag:Cinnamon shortbread - 4/5, lacks the buttery goodness of shortbread cookies (like Walkers and Royal Dansk), not what we expected. cinnamon flavor was nice and light.Cowgirl (like an oatmeal cookie) - 2/5, tasteless oat cookie that crumbles because there isn’t enough of a binder (aka flour). Don’t believe this cookie is GF, but sure tastes like it.Dark sunshine (chocolate cookie) - 3.5/5, good cocoa flavor, not crisp or chewy (rating against the gold standard of chocolate and chocolate chip cookies that are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside like Levain!)Peanut butter - 4/5Snickerdoodle - 5/5Walnut chocolate chip - 3/5“

“Updates:1. The chocolate chip cookies are actually so good that I have daydreamed about getting them again since I finished my first one. I like them so much I've been planning my week around getting back to Day Moon to get another.2. The baguette is really top notch. After getting it and devouring it for the second time, I've decided that we need to buy them two at a time in our family -- one for the drive/walk home, and one for later.3. Tried the cocoa carrot cake and it was very surprising and good.Original review:Home-runs that I'll be daydreaming about for a while:1. Baguette: It was warm and delicious. We devoured the whole thing on our walk home. The crust had the perfect crisp/crunch and the inside was soft. I think it was whole wheat sourdough.2. Strawberry scone: It was a totally different texture than the scones I'm used to. Instead of being buttery, sweet, and kind of dry, it was gooey and delicious. I think they used fresh strawberries, which helped add moisture. The top was dusted with sugar, but the scone wasn't overly sweet. Great scone!3. Chocolate chip cookie: Incredible. Great texture and flavor. Not too sweet. No notes. Also very delicious: the cheddar spring onion scone.Things I tried but probably wouldn't order again:1. PB cookie: It was better than most. I think almost all PB cookies are too dry though, so I probably wouldn't get this again unless I was craving PB.2. Lemon bar: The flavor was a little bitter and not sweet enough for me.“

All their bagels are boiled but Tony Gemigniani puts his own Italian twist to the recipe and the result is an eye-opening, fresh and very chewy bagel with perfect texture. All their pastries and sandwiches are what you would expect: elevated and decadent. Kudos to their Detroit style pizza; perfectly made with a nutty, cheesy artisan crust topped with high-end mozzarella. “One of the only Chinese bakeries in town that still uses lard in their recipes, and this really sets off the flavor of the dough and the flakiness of the tart. Egg custard in the tart is cooked perfectly with mild sweetness and a jiggly consistency inside the incredibly flaky tart. Cocktail bun is soft and so addicting with the coconut filling. BBQ Pork Bun is pillowy and chewy, smoky, and has a strong flavor in the pork. Incredible spot. Skip the rest and just come here, first thing in the AM, to load up on your Cantonese pastries.
