“Really cute and healthy smoothie shop in a nice shopping center. I ordered a Maca My Day, which I thought was pretty bad, and so they gave me a free replacement of another drink. Very respectable. Wasn’t a big fan of the other smoothie either…But on the bright side, they have fresh delicious vegetarian wraps!“
“The pastries are amazing! I’ve only been here for coffee in the morning and have enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far. There’s usually a line then so be warned if you’re planning to grab a coffee and run!I would come here more often if they had some way of allowing customers who are only getting a coffee or just know what they want to get through the line faster. I applaud the staff members who patiently wait while somebody takes a full twelve minutes to order two drinks and two pastries, but it’s a collective waste of time when there’s a line building up outside the door. I wish I could give Bootjack 5 stars since they can’t really choose their clientele, but I’ve left the line twice thinking this is might be an efficiency problem.“
“This is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious treat! We had a banana cream ( don’t know whether I got the name right) , and pineapple something. They were both curiously delicious. The banana-flavored donut had cream for an extra-sweet finish, it was pillowy and perfect. The place is clean, and even with decorative statement pieces, clutter-free.“
“Love the place Comfortable , but small 4/5 table, one outdoor Breakfast/ Brunch within Strawberry shopping center in Millvalley. Don't know if anyone can ever beat the level of extraordinary restaurants located in and around NYC. Bagels were first created in lower East Side of Manhattan Cre Orthodox Jewish Hts. Of Brooklyn mell as w Bagels are traditional Jewish favorites here are Onion and the Everything bagel. staple of Brooklyn anytime but definitely for breakfast thru 2:30 is recreated here . Enjoy !“
“Time and time again Heather and the team at Flour Craft impress me. They've made every holiday and birthday special for our gluten free family for the last ten years. The cakes, pastries, seasonal varieties and sourdough bread are fantastic. They've redone the store in San Anselmo to be open, modern and welcoming boasting the best ambiance around. I'm grateful that my mom found this place years ago! What sets this bakery apart from it's competitors is their willingness to create unique and delicious varieties, granolas, breads and savory tartines! Can't beat the staff friendliness, store cleanliness, pastry-chef creativity and baked goods consistency.“
“This is my neighborhood bakery it's the BEST and I basically go every morning. My go to is the Pain Suisse, delicious ? my daughter's favorite is the chocolate croissant, and my son's all about the morning bun. The staff is so friendly anf welcoming you must visit.“
“I can't believe I've lived in San Francisco my entire life and hadn't had Liguria's focaccia until last month. I came in right before 9:00am on a Tuesday and was able to get three slabs of the pizza focaccia ($9 each), which is what my colleague who grew up in North Beach recommended, to bring to the office. It was easily one of the best focaccia I've ever had! No wonder they typically sell out well before they close for the day. I'll definitely be back to try the other kinds. Note: they're cash only.“
“I was led here by the Instagram feed which always knows and shows the best spots in town. It definitely was not wrong! We took a chance and headed there on a Saturday morning, already knowing it would be chaotic. However, we lucked out on an open parking spot a block away so we knew it was meant to be! Although the line was about half a block from the door, it moved quickly thanks to the efficient staff running the small shop. We ordered the plain croissant, chocolate, almond and ham and cheese. The first two were HEAVENLY and shattered into beautiful buttery bits with every bite. What's even more magical is the chocolate that was used inside the croissant. It stayed creamy throughout, without any trace of hard unbaked bits. I'd venture to say it was a luxurious experience having a dessert-level croissant for breakfast :) The others were good but a bit heavy handed in some parts, like the super rich cheese or the very generous almond paste which made them overwhelming. Next time, we'll stick to ordering the basics! And next time can't come soon enough... Eager to see how their new location by the Chase Center will do!“
“Hands down THE best croissant in San Francisco. But they have so much more than that. Pates, quiches, desserts - and they all look so Parisian. Walking in is an exercise in self control. But the good news is, if you do cave in, it’s worth it!“
“Updates:1. The chocolate chip cookies are actually so good that I have daydreamed about getting them again since I finished my first one. I like them so much I've been planning my week around getting back to Day Moon to get another.2. The baguette is really top notch. After getting it and devouring it for the second time, I've decided that we need to buy them two at a time in our family -- one for the drive/walk home, and one for later.3. Tried the cocoa carrot cake and it was very surprising and good.Original review:Home-runs that I'll be daydreaming about for a while:1. Baguette: It was warm and delicious. We devoured the whole thing on our walk home. The crust had the perfect crisp/crunch and the inside was soft. I think it was whole wheat sourdough.2. Strawberry scone: It was a totally different texture than the scones I'm used to. Instead of being buttery, sweet, and kind of dry, it was gooey and delicious. I think they used fresh strawberries, which helped add moisture. The top was dusted with sugar, but the scone wasn't overly sweet. Great scone!3. Chocolate chip cookie: Incredible. Great texture and flavor. Not too sweet. No notes. Also very delicious: the cheddar spring onion scone.Things I tried but probably wouldn't order again:1. PB cookie: It was better than most. I think almost all PB cookies are too dry though, so I probably wouldn't get this again unless I was craving PB.2. Lemon bar: The flavor was a little bitter and not sweet enough for me.“
“When we sat down outside, with the blue hour sun hanging low across the city, the tray of gluttony and sugars sat so perfectly on our tray. Then a group of Patagonia-clad men stumbled in saying “with OpenAI” and I was reminded that we’re in San Francisco. The crookie was good, albeit not crispy. While the coffee vanilla mousse looked amazing on the outside, it was a tad too sweet. However, the highlight for me was the Imperial; paired with an iced cold brew, the decadent layers filled with a crumbly bottom and a sweet white filling inside was my favourite.Pretty good!“
“Historically I'm not much of a baklava person. They're fine, but often too sweet and the texture isn't my favorite. Baklavastory is a different story. Their baklava is perfection, with a light and crisp dough, top quality nuts, and just the right amount of sweet. We walked past and went in on a whim, and walked out with a tray. The owner is very kind and told us about his obsessive process to make the best possible product. We'll definitely be back!“
“This place is the bomb. They know how to make the desserts and they’re not afraid to showcase that! I’ve tried the pistachio eclair and it was so unbelievably good. I am very happy. I still remember how good that was so if you are in mood of craving desserts or you need to impress your guest this is the place ! The balance on sweetness tartness is just perfect. I loved it. Can’t wait to be back.!“
“This has become our go-to cake for our birthdays, and we love it! The chocolate imperial cake is our favorite and it is a chocoholics dream. I never share it with anyone because it so darn tasty! It is pricier than a lot of other cake places, but well worth the money for a special occasion.“
“Ive been going to this bakery since 2018 and it's nice to see that they've grown a lot since. I personally recommend getting the OG pineapple bun with butter hot and fresh. This is truly the best way to enjoy it. This time I got the pineapple butter sampler to try the different butter options available. I love the cute container and size but it would've been nicer if we got to choose the butter options vs. the preselected options they had. One important tip- make sure you eat these buns warmed up/toasted. It makes a huge difference to the taste and turns it from something bland and cold to a beautiful crispy light fluffy bun.“
“Arsicault did not steal his prize for best croissant USA. All the pastries are good without exception, the baguette is also one of the best in San Francisco. So if you are French, you can certainly think that there is better in France, of course... but clearly not in SF. Yes it's a bit expensive but those are the prices. I was sold croissants for $1 cheaper but frankly not good. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I still don't understand why there are no more baguettes at 10:30 a.m. on the weekend, no new batches coming (according to the sellers). When we close at 3 p.m., do we try to have stock at least until 1 p.m.? Finally, it seems to me? It's a shame that you can't order in advance and pick up the next day. That would be great.“
“I can't fault this place. Not overly prices, friendly staff, DELICIOUS FOOD, good coffee and a nice vibe all round. You could sit in or take away; you can order for pick up or browse all the pastries upon arrival. Really liked it. Expect a queue on busy mornings, but they seem prepared for it with a lot of staff and clear signs of where to queue“
“An iconic dessert/cake that our family has been enjoying for many years. The flavor is amazing- I love toffee crumbles! One slice makes you want more but is enough for one person (considering the amount of sugar). We love to support this local small business in Japantown. FYI- cash only!“
“I only tasted the pain au chocolat and the choux and I was won over. The cabbages are super good, the taste is fine and sought after. The pain au chocolat is worth a French one. The place is pleasant and the staff welcoming. Only remark: the tea served in a small half-full mug, a little too light for my taste, even if I am used to European portions.“
“I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Krispy Kreme who? These donuts are beyond words of delicious and delightful. I drive from the East Bay usually late night when my husband and I are craving phenomenal donuts. The donuts are extremely fresh, the times I've been here there has been an older gentleman making them and racks of donuts ready to be bought. Yummmmmmm. Just incredible tasty donuts. You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. Grab and go type of donut shop right on Polk St. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 100% :)“
“Do you know how fortune cookies are made? This fun little visit will show you. A free sample and lots to choose from. I never knew there were different kinds of fortune cookies. And you can get flats ones, too. No fortune, but great with your coffee! They even have some fortunes in French.“
“The flat white was quite good, and best of all, it didn't burn my mouth when I first took a sip. That's how you know your barista is great! I also got the banana bread, which was delicious, as well. All around worth the trip and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. The only thing is I wish the chairs looked a little comfier and I might be more inclined to stick around and enjoy my coffee.“
“One of my friends allowed me to taste some food from this place I was so taken the next day I immediately went to have my own! the people was just as friendly and warm and most of all welcoming.so it wasn't just about the food but it was the atmosphere and the smiles I'll recommend this place to the world they brought me the closet to tasting some New Orleans food!!!“
“Scrumptious chocolate chip cookies! I have yet to try their pies and various baked goods, but I can tell you that these cookies are so wonderful! The sea salt sprinkles were a nice touch because it creates a very balanced flavor. I'm in love with the gooeyness and texture of the cookie. The way the chocolate chips are encompassing the entire cookie is the best. I need more!“
“My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Hahdough bakery to supply the cakes for our wedding. They were wonderful to work with and helped us to pick out the right 4 different cakes. Delivery was seamless and they worked with the venue for a timely drop-off. Our guests could not stop talking about how delicious the cakes were! It was a great way to offer our guests multiple options while being super affordable compared to traditional wedding cakes. Not to mention that the cakes were beautiful (see photos).“
“A great bakery house with a wide variety of pastries. I got $12 curry chicken sandwich. The bread is on the hard/ chewy side like french baguette and the filling is flavorful. The other bakeries I got are also noteworthy like the morning glory bread, the tomato basil scone, and the crazy cookie. I would say the crazy cookie is the most satisfying to me. Would love to try more things next time I visit the neighborhood.“
“Belly is pretty lean with not much fat in terms of extras to entice. But what they serve, they do well. It has a young start up vibe with good precious offerings, a limited interesting menu for a bakery that also does lunch. It’s pretty much outdoor seating only sans the shade and expect a line. We are told by the counter staff it takes eight minutes to heat the savory mushroom pie or corn pastry with an egg inside. Everything was tasty.Personally I prefer muffins containing an egg to be soft boiled rather than hard, such as the morning muffin at Post Script on Jackson street which can’t compare to anything else. It was a fun place to try and I brought a couple of cookies home to try. The matcha latte was excellent, sweetened with brown sugar. I like that they use good ingredients on their spare cuisine. I do think they might expand the menu a tad.“
“The cakes are very good. My favorites are their tiramisu and Black Forest cakes. This place has been around for a long time and has been one of my favorite bakeries of all time. I get all my birthday cakes from them. The service is good too. They are so helpful.“
“As a Korean-American, I hate Korean fusion or Korean flavor/influenced food. But, please TRUST when I say the kalbijjim pastry is soooo good. I thought it'd suffice because I needed something thick to take with my meds. I was pleasantly surprised as it was not heavy, nor was it excessively sweet. It did not have too much of that soy sauce + sugar taste that other places put in too much of. It was so perfect. I shoved it in my mouth as I was turning right, crushing the box on my lap, with a cop on the corner staring at me like I was so dumb to do this in front of him. It was worth it. Anyway, the lines aren't too bad as it goes by, and they are very nice there.“
“A cute Russian bakery cum coffee shop in Richmond district. I tried their veg Piroshki and it was delicious. The coffee was also great and I’ll definitely be back for other flavors. Great option if you are interested in exploring some Russian delicacies.“
“Oh man the egg tarts here truly are the best which is why whenever the bakery is open, there's a line out the door. Literally a line out the door since you can't go inside. It's definitely a unique little shop so know what to expect. What to expect? A long line, pay cash and the owner cracks the door open and gives you your delicious egg tarts and takes your cash!“
“Best bread in the city. Best baguette in the city. Their pizza dough to take home is delicious. Would recommend their hot sandwiches or warm breakfast treats. Their cookie logs are also phenomenal! Everyone is so kind and they allow dogs to come in and eat in their back patio! $3.50 for a baguette in April 2024 ❤️?“
“This is a really nice patisserie in the Marina district where you can enjoy one of the most crunchy, flaky, buttery croissants in the City. Their chocolate croissants are also filled with melted chocolate and are scrumptious in the early morning. The pear tart is delicious, not too sweet, and freshly made.Nice job . Keep it up!“
“Great selection for great prices, but not super differentiated from other Chinese bakeries I have been to. The pastries were high quality and the woman who helped me was super nice. I got an egg yolk custard tart, an egg white custard tart, and a pineapple bun. The egg custard tarts were good, though the crust was more like shortbread and not very flaky which I prefer. The egg white custard tarts were interesting, though I did not like them as much as the traditional egg yolk ones which I found to have a stronger flavor. The pineapple bun was good, but nothing special. I will likely be back to try some of their other items.“
“Come hungry, leave stuffed.Fluffy crispy buttery biscuits. Yum.Would like to add sauce to the breakfast one, as was a little dry.Coffee not to my taste but wife loved it. Marmite I guess.Little sun trap back yard was great on a windy morning.Bring your walking shoes as only two blocks from the park, you better get going to walk off the stuffing.“
“Bob's donuts on Baker Street!!! What a great surprise. The Baker Street location is way better than the orginal Polk Street location. The customer service is so friendly and welcoming. The Baker Street location is all around 5 + stars. I'm impressed with the marshmallow donut andParking: Parking is sparse and a challenge.“
“Best pork buns EVER. I was recommended to this place many years ago and the quality and taste is always perfection. They're always fresh and the service is always quick. I stopped in today for one last visit (I'm relocating out of state) and the buns were fresh, hot, and as delicious as ever. Highly recommend, 100/10.“
“We're from San Francisco and were getting married in the city, but decided to venture across the bridge after striking out on other vendors due to price, size limitations (270+ people), or general availability. We feel so lucky that we came across Krumbs based on the A+ experience, from tasting to delivery. One thing we truly hoped for was a true cake-tasting experience. In the post-COVID landscape, everything is "come buy cupcakes and let us know what you think." We went out to Krumbs and were so excited to be able to sit down and be treated to all of their cake, mousse, and frosting flavors, and even though we had only inquired about one flavor, we left with two. They were also super-flexible when it came to design and weighed in with their own opinions after learning about the wedding vibe, cake topper, etc. Their pricing was affordable but the experience felt premium in every way, from the tasting to delivery and putting the finishing touches at the venue. We were able to hand them off to our venue coordinator and they managed everything from there. We also had them do our sheet cake for the rest of the guests so everyone could have the same experience. We like them so much we went back to buy a birthday cake for my mother-in-law a few weeks later. SF is great but I feel like we found a gem in Krumb's and would recommend them to anyone.“
“Le Dix-Sept is definitely the place to be in SF! Every item on the menu is a delight, making it hard to choose just one. Personally, I can't get enough of their cacio e Pepe focaccia and berry butter scotch bar. The pastries and focaccia are divine, and the service is exceptional. You can truly taste the love and care in every bite.“
“If there is one positive thing came from the pandemic, it is Philippe Delarue’s ingenious idea to open up a bake shop here in front of his flat. It’s one of my favorite places to invite friends on Saturday or Sunday morning. You can’t go wrong with any of his goods, but my personal favorite is the bread pudding. Delarue will generously add his “adults only” whiskey sauce upon ordering. He is too humble to bring up the story himself, but ask him about his journey here – including stints in Le Mans, Paris, London, and Montreal. I can’t locate the article anymore but I think he once had the honor of baking for the queen! ☺️“
“We made a brunch reservation to have the tea service, but were pulled away into the savory menu options. We started with the viennoiserie and moved into poached eggs, which were cooked to four minute perfection (our request). Everything we had was great, and the service and atmosphere were lovely.“
“My sweet tooth has led me to visit many bakeries all over, so when I moved here, finding my go to bakery was top of my list. This place is the real deal. Proper cream cheese frosting (not too sweet with a pleasant tang) tops some of their most decadent goods. The pastries feel familiar, but are uniquely delicious. So far I've tried the guava danish, croissant, bread pudding, banana muffin, sweet potato pie and the cinnamon roll. Each item has been outstanding.“
“This place is a must when visiting San Fran. I do my research before going on a trip and this place was recommended by a few people. I know that you often hear more about the Golden Gate Bakery but there was a long line and I was not going to wait to try their egg tart. I'm glad I didn't sit in that line. We grabbed a few items to go and of course we tried their egg tart. It was warm and crispy. We also order some gelatin looking pastries, matcha cake, and sweet bread. Everything was great.“
“I am so glad I stumbled upon this little place. I've driven past San Rafael. I don't know how many times, and never knew about this bakery!! Granted, they mainly have bread, their pastries/croissants were delicious!! I do have a gluten allergy, so my stomach is sensitive to gluten, but every once in a while, I cheat. Lol I was able to buy their extra sourdough 6 inch loaves and split them with my coworkers. I also got six different pastries for my coworkers, and they told me that they loved the strawberry croissant, blueberry croissant, cinnamon twist, cheese, croissant, and chocolate croissant! Everybody said how flaky the crust was, and how soft and gooey the middle of the croissant was! As I walked in, there was a nice lady that worked behind the cashier desk, and she had a really pretty eye make up on! I've never been able to do my make up, so I always noticed it. Lol she was very sweet and helpful but I asked what the difference was between The traditional sourdough and "extra sour sourdough, "and she said she only knew that the extra sourdough had to sit over a night and the other bread they could make the same day. I'm pretty sure that has something to do with the yeast since I bake, but I always kill yeast, so I'm better with baking soda and baking powder. Lol I digress, and it smelled delicious in there. A small little storefront, but a huge inventory of bread in the back! Quite literally forklifts were moving bread Around and delivering orders! Lol I will definitely be back again!!“
“Τoscano Brothers has probably surpassed Daily Driver as the best bagel bakers in San Francisco. All their bagels are boiled but Tony Gemigniani puts his own Italian twist to the recipe and the result is an eye-opening, fresh and very chewy bagel with perfect texture. All their pastries and sandwiches are what you would expect: elevated and decadent. Kudos to their Detroit style pizza; perfectly made with a nutty, cheesy artisan crust topped with high-end mozzarella. This pie is better than anything I've had in Detroit that's for sure.Love this place, A+++“
“Without hyperbole, Braid Bakery makes the best babka I’ve had in my life. It’s freshly made to your order, it’s light, it’s soft, it’s just a delightful loaf. I recommend the cinnamon and walnut one, but they also have chocolate. They also have weekly Friday loafs, which are so light, but also hearty. The loaf is covered is a variety of interesting toppings that I’ve never had atop a challah before, but are certainly additive. To order from Braid, you need to go online at least one day ahead; you’ll be picking it up from basically just a house, but there’s some signage. The babka loaf is worth the (light) hassle, I promise!“
“I was looking for some place close to get a cup of coffee as I was picking up some work from an art show across the street. I was surprised that it didn’t pop up for ‘coffee near me’ on google search. Coffee is good. Wasn’t feeling a big cinnamon roll for breakfast but decided to have a little one! A great little treat!“
“This has been my go to spot for dim sum on clement for years. Finally writing a review today to note they put back tables in chairs for indoor dining!!! I don't live in the Richmond so it's nice to be able to sit down and eat after ordering.“
“A friend suggested we try Stella while we were visiting San Francisco and I'm so glad we did! We had breakfast there twice and then took a dessert to go and enjoyed it at some random seating area and people watched on another day. The raspberry chocolate cake was beyond amazing!“
“Some of the best pastries I’ve had in my life — and I’ve had a lot! The chocolate croissant was so light and so flaky — unlike the too-heavy or -bready croissants you get most places. Chocolate chip cookies are the same deal — light, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, SO tasty.“
