Jason and his entire staff know how to take care of their guests and make everyone feel welcome. Weekends after dinner are a happening scene. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.”

So, we decided to try it, and we are glad we did. Our meals were cooked fresh to order and they were delicious! “I had the pleasure of trying the brisket sandwich twice and the chicken caesar wrap. They were both huge and very delicious! Would recommend to anyone wanting something clean and fresh! Their fresh juices and coffee are also wonderful. Next up for me is that breakfast burrito with the brisket. Glad to have this closer location in my home town! The staff are all wonderful and plenty of seating. Will be back soon!”

“Ordered a seeded levain bread to go, a lemon scone and the blueberry maple syrup muffin. Perfectly ready early and was notified which was great. The muffin and scone were excellent…tasty! The bread, which is a tad pricey (12.50) was overdone on the bottom so unfortunately the overpowering taste was burnt. Decided to salvage the excellent bread by cutting off the burned bottom! I have not experienced this at other fine, artisan bakeries in the area. May have to try the epi!”

“Amazing donuts. Their specialty donuts are absolutely delicious. We tried the guava donuts and regretted not getting more since we live an hour away. They had alot of different options to choose from and on top of that they have the classics. The store is clean with indoor sitting. Free parking on site.”

“Fabulous meal. We were greeted kindly. Staff very attentive. Menu selection was plentiful, both breakfast and lunch. My husband ordered their special hot stone pot with chicken mango. 5 star presentation and so yummy. I had the Hemingway Benny. Again, presentation and taste were 5 star! Portions were more than generous. Highly recommend!”

“While not an expert I grew up in Detroit eating gyros as often as hamburgers. Hands down the best gyro I have had in ages. Warm soft pita, crisp fresh veggies, great house made sauce and really tasty gyro meat. And always friendly service from the owner. Small seating area so may need to plan to do take out versus eat in.”

The cafes have a clean, modern feel and are good for meeting friends or getting some work done. Staff have been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and service moves at a good pace even during busy times.
I also like their food and pastry options — fresh and a nice complement to the drinks. It feels like a step above typical coffee chains without being pretentious.
Overall, a reliable place for good coffee, relaxed vibes, and quality service. Definitely recommend if you enjoy well-made coffee.”

“We saw the $16 Lunch Buffet sign after leaving Muir Woods towards San Francisco, just off the 101 South. Great Buffet for that price per person a couple different dishes offered were great! We saved a pretty penny instead of dining elsewhere in the area or returning to San Francisco! We liked the Butter Chicken and their different mixed curries. Much recommended if you happen to go during lunch hours.”

“This place is expensive, 10.00 for a 4 inch sandwich, but it's totally worth it! I got the BBQ brisket sandwich and YUM! The only downer is that the guy at the counter is hard to understand, which happens, but the look of disappointment he gave to anyone who didn't tip was not cool. I never tip the first time I go there. After the first time, if it's eat in, I tip, but carryout is a no.”

Shelter Bay Cafe is one of those rare Mill Valley spots where the food is good and the prices still make sense — especially for breakfast and coffee.

The breakfast menu is the real standout. You can get:

Egg, bacon & toast for $9

Eggs, bacon & hash browns for $11

English muffin breakfast sandwich for $8

Those are real, filling breakfasts at prices that feel almost nostalgic. Even the more dressed-up items stay reasonable — avocado toast at $14, breakfast sandwiches mostly in the $12–$15 range, and a solid breakfast burrito for $14. No “artisan surcharge,” no nonsense.

The coffee is good and sensibly priced — refreshingly not one of those places where the coffee costs more than the food. Lunch keeps the same fair-value approach, with sandwiches generally $14–$16 and an $8 grilled cheese that actually feels like a deal.

Add friendly owners, relaxed outdoor seating by the bay, and a genuinely local, unpretentious vibe, and this place becomes a dependable go-to. Not hypey, not precious — just good food, fair prices, and a place you’ll happily come back to.”

“Piatti's is one of my favorite local restaurants. The food is always excellent, the presentation beautiful, the service is great and the people working there are friendly. Last night, we sat outside and I am so glad we did. It was gorgeous - a spectacular sunset - which only enhanced the meal. It was warm and comfortable outside, it was a Friday night. There were two of us and we had the bread basket (always yummy), the Spinach and Ricotta Tortellini, the Beef Short rib with Polenta, and a Caesar Salad (to share). Everything was fresh, well-prepared and we enjoyed every bite.”

They offer more options and everything I've ordered here is delicious. Will continue to come here. Their wine and sake selection is much better as well.”

“This food is good. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good for some reason but I’m impressed. We had the veggie egg rolls (2 1/2), there was a funny spice added in there that wasn’t familiar nor was it necessary. Green onion pancakes (4.5) Long donut (4/5) it was so fresh, hot and crispy. Sweet chili wings (4), got happy when I seen the jalapeños but there was no kick at all, they were like a basic teriyaki. General tso chicken (4) no kick to them like normal general. Beef & broc (4) shrimp fried rice (4.5). The lady in front gets a little flustered and I thought she had an attitude with me but once the food came out, she gave us a free soda each and a free Long Donut. Def would return!”
