takeout only offshoot of the famous san rafael puerto rican restaurant. don’t let the almost bland pictures fool you, the dishes are packed with flavor and i can’t wait to try the sandwiches. would come back!pollo al horno (one chicken piece, tostones, pinto): no critiques, loved every component separately and together! special shoutout to the vinegar.maduros: sweet, flavorful plantain dessert. must try!
One of these years I will tire of Sol Food. But not yet, not yet. No trip north of the Golden Gate Bridge is complete without lunch at Sol Food. My current order: the Niño Pobre, a Ponche and some flan. And you have to get Mariquitas for the road, or it doesn't count.

Sol food was yummy and very comforting. We got the vegetariano from the combination options and got maduros, mariqitas from the plantain options. The combo plate was so soothing to our palates and every plantain option was divine! I'm more of a fan of ripe sweet plantains so maduros were my fave, closely followed by mariqitas which was fried raw plantain with an awesome dipping sauce. Dine in was available only in the San Rafael location and was not an option in the Mill valley...read full review
