“I have eaten here probably over 40 times. Over the years one thing that stands out is being treated well when I come alone which is more often than not. I usually have Caesar salad which is delicious and the gambini dish prawns sautéed spinach. Have had the salmon which is great. The choices for a glass of wine to me are limited and nothing that I love. Outside seating I enjoy more than indoors especially in the back of the restaurant, it can get loud inside. Sometimes service not the best too busy not enough servers but they are all lovely and warm and try their best. I like that I am comfortable at this restaurant mostly but good food and great location.“

Special shout out to the exceptional Cesar salad with white anchovies, the thin crust pizza and the Sunday Sicilian hash (that’s actually spicy, yay!) and the consistently thoughtful service. “Update: Since my last visit, the service, cleanliness and overall atmosphere has been great. Thank you for very much for the great times and amazing food.

Food is great, latte is over the top sweet. The breakfast hash is great, we come back on the regular for this. The booth couches are a place to avoid, you can literally feel the spring coils ripping through material and assaulting you like you an unwanted city tax. The service is beyond shocking, they rarely clean the tables or chairs, we got there first thing in the morning as they opened and had to wipe down the chairs that had accumulated food from the night before. Wait staff have no time or training to even engage with customers in small chit chat, it's basically a transaction to them and nothing else.

Overall, great food, terrible service, terrible atmosphere. Management need to spend more money on refurbishing and making the place feel like a great corner cafe instead of the run down cash cow that it is.“

The suppli brought me back to nights in Rome sipping natty wine with my friends. I normally never order pineapple on pizza but my friends wanted it so I gave a try and was super surprised at how delicious it was!“

We were seated immediately. The dining room has a few smaller tables for 2 and 4 and one bigger high table.

We got 3 pizzas to share. They are 6-8 slices depending on the cut. Crust is good and thin and chewy but the toppings lacked some oomph. Not enough sauce, egg plant was a little off.... The star was the broccoli rabe.“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants on Clement street. The food is so good and they have lots of options to take home with you, and the actual environment is super pretty. The menu is fairly small, but it definitely makes it easier to choose what you want, I still have a hard time deciding between the few pasta dishes available. As soon as we entered we felt the warmth of a proper Italian restaurant. The Hostess asked if we had reservations, I told her we did not. She was very kind and accommodating and found a table for us anyways. Her service was Great! Our waiter was very friendly. I ordered my usual, Lasagna! The food came out in a timely fashion and sure did hit the spot. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely have more Il Davide. 10 out of 10, I recommend!“
