“Not many places have that old school. Feel to it with the new world charm. But this place does. It's one of my favorite places in marine not because of an nostalgia. But because of quality, the manager seemed nice or the owner. I don't know who he was. But the you made me wanna come back. Food of course was tasty.“

“Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was extremely friendly, and the service was on point. The food was so delicious. I'm dreaming of the veal tartare. It was by far the best dish I've had in quite a while. Thank you Suzette, and the rest of the wonderful staff!“

“Our go-to place for deep dish pizza, especially love their pepperoni and Detroit deep dish. Its tomato sauce is so rich and thick, mixed with layers of cheese and high quality sausages - just amazing!
I’ve tried famous deep dish pizzas too, like the Lou’s in Chicago. Despite Capo’s doesn’t have the same hype, it definitely tastes better!“

“As a visitor from out of town, I wasn’t sure what to expect—but I was blown away by both the quality of the food and the excellent service. I ordered the chicory salad, arancini balls (the charred scallion aioli is to die for!), and, of course, the famous raviolo—a true treat with its decadent brown butter sauce. I only wish I’d saved room for dessert! If I’m ever back in SF, I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you for a memorable meal!“

“The Italian coffee bar that must be visited every year has extremely simple Italian coffee desserts, as well as formal meals. There are elegant seats on the street and small private rooms. The interior of the restaurant is also very elegant. Different from American restaurants, even the bathrooms have fresh flower arrangements. , so touching.“

“Authentic Italian place, however the team members were a bit ignorant? We sat down, received a menu, decided what to order and we were sat waiting for at least 20 min before the waiter approached us, even tho we made eye contact multiple of times. It wasn’t busy either so can’t understand why it took so long. Food was good but a bit too salty but I guess that’s normal in the US.“

“I’m here for business from Canada. Was taken here for supper by a coworker. The quaintest little restaurant, the owner and his wife are just awesome. The food is gorgeous! And his limoncello is the best I’ve ever had. Will be going back before I head home. ❤️❤️❤️“

“Had a luncheon @ Perbacco with my 9 coworkers and Manager to say “goodbye & farewell” to a retiring coworker and “welcome” to a new coworker. Started with a round of hors d'oeuvre’s. The thin sliced veal with a sauce and capers was delicious! The fried shrimp, veggies and olives/anchovies…also with a sauce was awesome as well. For my main, I had CRESTE DI GALLO - semolina pasta - wild mushroom ragu - spinach - ricotta salata. Our waiter was the best! I saved one of the sugar cookies from my deserts…Burnt Carmel Gelato. Mentioned it to our waiter and as we were leaving, I heard “Sir! Sir!” He brought me one of their meringue cookies to also share with my partner! I thought that was just awesome! Top notch food and customer service. We’ll be back!“

“I had an amazing birthday dinner at Bocconcino Restaurant! The food and service was wonderful. The staff and management were personable and friendly! Such a wonderful way to bring in the coming year! We will be back! Thank you!
Dietary restrictions: We had a gluten-free member of our party, and the kitchen and staff made sure there were options for that person, as well.“

“A wonderful first time experience at Luna Blu with my sisterfriend Betty on Wednesday, June 29th. Excellent, friendly service by Chrissie and she was kind enough to make suggestions since I am a Vegan. THANK YOU Chrissie. The owner took a moment to come to our table and we expressed our satisfaction and delight with her. Plan to visit again. Smiles from Baltimore.“

“I haven’t been here even though I live three blocks from it ; but when I pass it, patrons are rejoicing in its atmosphere : a restaraunt located at top of hill , the service seems convivial ; I also like scenes of very fine architecture around this restaraunt at day or foggy nights. I will take my partner here soon; she would delight in it.“

“Amarena is a real local gem. Super cute, great food, great atmosphere. Walking in feels like stepping into a friend's cozy dining room, where the warmth of the atmosphere matches the warmth of the service. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home while offering top-notch, upscale dining.
The food is absolutely fantastic. The fried calamari is a standout—crispy on the outside and perfectly tender inside. The sea bass is seasoned just right and cooked to perfection, and the orecchiette pasta is a flavor-packed delight. Every dish feels like it’s been made with care and attention.
The service is exceptional, with a genuine, friendly vibe that makes each visit feel personal. Big props to Paolo and Stefan for always being such a welcoming presence! It’s like having dinner at a friend’s place, but with all the perks of an amazing restaurant. Amarena is truly a special local gem where great food and great company come together effortlessly.“

“Wow! What a great place! Paula was wonderful, chicken was great! Had the lamb second time in. Nice. Portions are large, and price is certainly better that most these days. Causal, fun place for eats on the main Columbus drag in North Beach. We will be going again.“

“Bardzo dobre włoskie makarony. Moja lazania była wyśmienita:)) Można zamówić pizzę ale tylko w 4 czy 5 wydaniach. Nie jest to typowa pizzeria. Przeważają makarony i dania włoskie. Szybka obsługa zamówień. Mimo dużej ilości gości, czekaliśmy dosłownie chwileczkę na danie główne. Na plus tego miejsca przyjazna atmosfera i ogrzewana, regulowana strefa na zewnątrz. Dla zmarzluchów dostępne koce. Można porozmawiać po włosku z kelnerem. Kawałeczek Włoch w słonecznej Kalifornii. Polecam.“

“I went here for lunch, and it was quick and filling. I had orrechette with a regular made of veal and tomato tarragon cream sauce. It was delicious and perfectly balanced in flavors. The shrimp and scallop Caesar salad was large and had plenty of seafood but had soggy lettuce, which is to be expected from a hot protein. Everything was very filling. Good lunch on the way to SFO.“

“Came by here for dinner - lovely restaurant tucked away with a truly lovely staff and excellent wine selection - woefully limited vegetarian and poultry options (I ended up with a pretty simple salad while my dining companions indulged in truly beautiful dishes with long-braised meats and crispy bacon) and quite expensive for what it is. Tiramisu was to die for.“
“Craving a taste of authentic Italy without leaving San Francisco? Look no further! This friendly sandwich shop boasts high-quality ingredients and delicious options for both vegetarians and meat-lovers. The Tartufo Vegetariano is a dream for meatless eaters, while The Don caters to classic Italian flavors. Their customizable salads and perfect cappuccinos and lattes round out the perfect lunch experience. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu! Excellent service, very kind people and good vibe.
Vegetarian options: Tartufo Vegetariano, Caprese, customize sandwich and salad. you can choose your greens, your bread, dressing, and cheese. Pastries and fresh orange juice
Dietary restrictions: plenty of options, you can also make your own salad.“

“Perfect Italian authentic restaurant when enjoying North Beach neighborhood for my friends birthday! I got us tickets to dear San Francisco, which is a wonderful show at Club Fugazi just 3 blocks away from this great restaurant! Paolo took wonderful care of us. His wine, suggestions and appetizer and entrée tips were the best! The pasta is homemade and very delicious and special. We tried the gnocchi with pesto, as well as a delicious braised meat, red sauce over fresh linguine. We also enjoyed the grilled (not fried) octopus. The tiramisu for dessert was perfect! I’ve been here before, and I will go back again and again for the service and authentic delicious Italian cuisine.“

“While visiting San Francisco for work, I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Tiramisu, and it quickly became a highlight of my trip! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming – Giuseppe and Christian went above and beyond to make me feel right at home. Christian, my server, recommended the lobster escargot, and I have to say, it’s one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! The Spaghetti Nero with house-made pasta and local seafood was equally outstanding. This family-owned restaurant prides itself on creating as much as possible in-house, and it truly shows in the quality and freshness of the food. As the name would suggest, the tiramisu was also top notch. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with both cozy indoor and charming outdoor seating. Whether you're looking for an intimate meal or a great spot to relax after a long day, Cafe Tiramisu is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed! I will absolutely return anytime I’m in San Francisco.“

“Il cilentano has one glistening trait that helps it stand out against just about anywhere else in SF: it’s one of the few spots open late while still offering table service. Paired with some solid Italian pasta, and it makes for the perfect late-night eat.
The interior is clean, albeit not particularly inviting; we sat next to the window to people watch the people walking by, which was romantic except for the harsh overhead lighting.
Notwithstanding, the food was all solid. We enjoyed the fettuccine bolognese but the stand-out was definitely the spicy rigatoni paestum. The menu had some comically aggressive warnings on the backside, which I couldn’t help but imagined were provoked by an owner or manager having enough of customer bullshit.
Indeed, it turned out our waiter was the owner, and he had a surprisingly charming no-nonsense vibe underneath his Italian accent. When asking for wine recommendations, he almost incredulously responded, “Everything on the wine list is worth getting, I’m the one that chose the menu.” It made us laugh, and the unfiltered confidence came off endearing. It turns out he was right — we DID enjoy the wines we ordered.
I’ve bookmarked this as a place to return to next time I’m hungry, it’s late, and I feel like something more wholesome than bar food.“

“One of the few places open on a Monday. Sat outside because it was a beautiful late summer evening (Looking forward to dining inside!). Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. Complementary focaccia was to die for! We couldn't resist the two papardelle offerings, one with mushrooms and cream sauce, the other with summer veggies. Perfect portions, super delicious. The wine offerings were reasonably priced and high quality. The chef and her crew is doing everything right. Will be back!“

“I’ve only ever been to The Stinking Rose once, and that was around 2007 or 2008. I had the 40 clove roasted chicken, and it was so freaking good. To this day I tell people about it, as it was on of my favorite meals and experiences of my life. I would love to come back, one day!!“

“We went to this restaurant tonight on the last night of our USA holiday, having read positive reviews of it. We weren't disappointed! The restaurant doesn't look anything special from the outside, but our experience there was fantastic. The portions were huge, the food was delicious and we had great service from both the staff. Between us, we had pizza and two pasta dishes. We would highly recommend this place for great value and a good meal.“

“I travel to SF for both business and pleasure. Fior d’Italia never fails to impress whether I’m with colleagues, clients or family.
The food is amazing! I never miss a chance to order the Prosciutto Con Frutta Di Stagione. It’s a crowd pleaser to say the least. You can tell the pastas are made daily from scratch and the ingredients are top quality.
The staff treat you like family. They are helpful and engaging. I’ve had the same 3 waiters over the years which speaks volumes to how the restaurant treats its employees.
Such a wonderful restaurant located in a quiet yet very convenient area of SF. I look forward to my next visit as soon as I walk out of the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: The kitchen accommodated even the pickiest of clients, my 8 year old daughter. They prepared her food exactly as requested and, much to my and my wife’s delight, she said it was the BEST meal of our trip.“
