“Outstanding food, authentically Italian, incredibly fresh ingredients. My little gems salad with anchovy was one of the very best salads I’ve had. All our dishes were excellent. Portions were large, flavors popped and presentation was attractive. Only negative was that the server seemed to have too many tables, as we had a very long wait between menu presentation and ordering. Overall, this was as good as expected, and I definitely recommend. Poggio has been a top restaurant for many years, and the praise seems deserved.“
“Oh goodness this place was INCREDIBLE! We found it from searching for food in Sausalito and I’m so glad we did. It has the calmest, warmest ambiance and felt welcoming to us with our young kids. The servers and owners were beyond kind and the food was out of this world. The caprese appetizer was extremely flavorful and the pizzas were perfection. Couldn’t recommend this enough.“
“We arrived just in time for our reservation. Parking was right next door. We could tell this restaurant was where all the locals assembled. It was fun to watch old friends greet each other. Unfortunately several of the nightly specials were already sold out. We shared an appetizer, salad and entree. It was all delicious. We only have one complaint - it’s really loud. Be aware if you wear hearing aides.Parking: It’s right next door. BUT you must get your car out before 9pm!!!!“
“Be sure to check this place out. It is off the main street just a couple blocks. Feels like a locals joint with comfort food and great wine. They also have live music (on select nights). We started with the minestrone soup and house made focaccia. Both were great. Our entrees were the house made gnocchi, lasagne, spaghetti and risotto. We also ordered side of Brussel sprouts that also had pancetta and sweet potatoes. They were the best thing on the table. Delicious. All of our dishes were lovely. The only drawback was the risotto is not a traditional one. Did not have the creaminess we are used to. We will definitely be back.Service was excellent as well.“
“The fried calamari was soft and delicious. The sauce served with it was not too salty. Highly recommended.Carbonara was delicious, but it was not a typical taste, but a unique style that I had tried for the first time. Recommended.Punggi Pizza was pan-style pizza, not oven-style, and it was thick and the portion size was average. They came and checked between meals, and when I asked a question to a staff member who had some difficulty communicating in English, another server came to check again. It was nice to be able to have a quiet meal even though it was a weekend lunch.Kid-friendliness: There is a baby chair“
“We passed through here on our way out of town. Open menu so we had dinner for breakfast! Amazingly fresh and authentic Italian food. We had a a meatball sub, pesto pasta and chicken Parmigiano. Coffee and tiramisu was amazing also. A must go if you are in Sausalito.“
“We had a great experience here for lunch! We were looking for clam chowder and asked a local shopkeeper for a recommendation. Seafood Peddler it is! They were able to seat us immediately in the little alcove on the second floor with a lovely view of the harbor. We had their lunch bowl of clam chowder, lobster bisque, and a few lobster rolls around our table. We really enjoyed the soups, and the sandwiches were stacked with lobster. Fries were great! Prices for the rolls were a bit steep, but to be expected. Our service was good - I loved how they pour the soup into the bowl at your table so it stays hot. Food came out crazy fast, which made for more time to explore!“
“Live salsa band on Sunday is amazing. And the people who enjoy it like me are also amazing. Friendly crowd. Small dance floor, gets hot, two single-person unisex bathrooms from lines when it gets crowded. The owner seems a little salty, but the staff is very friendly, although sometimes they forget about you because they're so busy.“
“Seven Hills opens their kitchen and welcomes you into their home. The truffle pasta is what my boyfriend and I come back for every single time. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and the food is made so fresh. Truly incredible tasty date night spot — book ahead of time for sure as it does get busy. The polpette is a must try as well, the sauce is incredible“
“The best italian food in the city in my opinion! You need to make reservations well in advance but they’ve also been able to accommodate us at the bar when we walk in which is just as nice, so definitely recommend that if you’re a party of one or two. The bread is delicious, their classic ravioli is a must-try, and the gnocchi was also amazing. Indoor and outdoor seating are both super nice and comfortable, and we’ve gone for both lunch and dinner and they’re equally great experiences!“
“Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco is a slice of heaven for pizza enthusiasts. Nestled in the heart of the city, this pizzeria crafts authentic Neapolitan-style pies that are worth the wait. From the crispy yet chewy crust to the flavorful sauce and fresh toppings. The ambiance is cozy, perfect for a casual dinner or a laid-back hangout with friends. The menu offers a variety of options to suit every palate. Tony's Pizza Napoletana is a must-visit for any pizza lover in the Bay Area.“
“We had the best time at Sorella! The food was amazing and we left feeling full. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious and the wine recommendations we had paired with our meal so well. Our favorite part about the dinner though was the service! Our waiter was extremely attentive but not over bearing. He was also hilarious which added to the experience! Everyone was so respectful and happy. Truly a great experience- we will be back!“
“Amazing food however recommend providing optional cushions for the blocky wood chairs. I have a hip injury and it was tough. The staff switched chairs to a less blocky chair but like all these places that are going for modern vibe or make it uncomfortable to turn tables, people with spine injuries pay the price. Giving 5 because food was awesome and staff did the best they could. Appreciate it.“
“Super yummy pizza at a pretty great price. Only thing stopping from a five star is the combo slice was a little soggy from being over topped w/ veggies (tomato slice, zucchini, mushrooms, onions). Definitely stick with the classic pepperoni.“
“Has always been a favorite! Drinks and apps at the bar, dinner at a table. Roast chicken with bread salad was divine, as well as the fried squash appetizer- divine! Excellent cocktails ?Vegetarian options: Good seasonal vegetable dishes.“
“We go here about twice a month and always love it. Shout out to the staff on Saturday April 13th at about 5:45pm. My wife and I were at our friend's 40th bday party at a bar on Grant. We only had two drinks when she got the text that our table was ready. When we enter the restaurant she sits down on the bench near the host stand and starts mumbling "I don't feel good I don't feel good" and then became dead weight. I didn't know what was happening, just knew it wasn't right. The staff was so concerned and so helpful. Helped me get her outside and kept bringing us water. Luckily I was able to call our friends to help move her and help me handle what was going on. Turns out that she had been roofied at our friend's birthday party. So thank you once agin to everyone working that night who treated us with compassion and helped me handle the confusing situation I was in.“
“This is a cute spot for a date night!Seems like on weekends it gets busier and booked up so we went for a later reservation. The vibe an interior is cozy and intimate. The service was great: friendly and helpful with recommendations. We all agreed the pasta was good and all got finished!Appetizers were good but not great--maybe some more options there would be nice.“
“10/10 would recommend the Party Table, located inside the Pasta Shop, especially if you're looking for something intimate with friends. This is what I did for my birthday and it was a lovely experience. The chef's selection was an array of dishes. It felt like food and wine just kept coming to our table. Initially, I was looking for a place that could accommodate a table for 10 which seemed almost impossible in SF, or at least the restaurants I enjoy eating at. To add, I'm not the biggest fan of eating Italian at restaurants or tasting menus / small plates. So I took a big gamble when I made reservations with Penny Roma...but I'm so glad I did! Each dish was flavorful, the service was attentive, and the environment was chill.“
“Loved the ambiance here! Would come here for an occasion. Saw people on dates and with their friends/family! Waitress was incredibly nice and lovely. Wasn’t as amazed by food as I thought I’d be but would certainly return.Note: Parking was tough.“
“La Ciccia is a gem of San Francisco. If you like Italian cuisine and you like seafood, you must try this Sardinian restaurant, featuring a seafood-heavy Italian cuisine that's unlike most Italian restaurants in the area.I thought the place closed, and only recently learned that the restaurant survived the original owners retiring. A real estate agent who lived a couple of blocks away and who was a regular customer decided to purchase the business. They kept all the staff, including the head chef. Supposedly, it was just as good as under the original owners. We were certainly pleased with our visit. We started with simply grilled squid and an order of their Sardinian flatbread, pane carasau. The flatbread reminds me of Indian papadam, but flavored with olive oil and intense rosemary. For her entree, Marcia got the house specialty -- homemade spaghetti with spicy olive oil and shaved bottarga (cured fish roe). Whenever we've gone to La Ciccia, at least one of us orders this dish, and in this visit, it did not disappoint.I decided to try something different and get the fettucine with a tomato and sea urchin sauce, topped with a shaving of cured tuna heart. I love Marcia's pasta with bottarga, but I'm so glad I tried something new. The sauce was amazing -- the tomatoes didn't overpower the sea urchin, and that wonderful flavor of the sea shined right through. For dessert, we split the chocolate panna cotta. It was fine. Marcia liked it more than me. Toasted hazelnuts added a nice texture and flavor to the dish.“
“This is my favorite italian restaurant in San Francisco, the closest thing you can get to authentic italian cuisine. The environment is very cozy (that of a traditional trattoria), and the staff is super friendly & helpful, Milo is the best :)“
“Pinsa Rossa is absolutely amazing! Their appetizers, salads, and, of course, the pinsas with their crunchy, flavorful crusts are all top-notch. Ken and his team have done an incredible job creating a dining experience that’s simply outstanding!Dietary restrictions: My daughter, a brand new lactating mom who can’t consume lactose products, asked for a pinsa with vegan cheese, and we couldn’t tell the difference, it was great!Parking: There’s parking available half a block away from the place.“
“Among many excellent Italian spots in the city, this stood out. The homemade pasta has the perfect texture, and the fillings and sauces are delicate and wonderful. Service was kind and attentive, and the space - a favorite when it was Locanda and Ancora - remains intimate and elegant. Looking forward to another opportunity to dine.“
“Myself and 3 coworkers were in town for a work conference and we decided to ensure we try local restaurants. Frascati was absolutely fabulous. The food was extremely delicious the atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant is right on the cable car route and that gave it an extra special touch. The service was fantastic. By far one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Thank you Rebecca and Jon, if I make my way back to San Francisco I will definitely be back!“
“I visited last week for dinner with my family. We didn't make a reservation and arrived around 6pm. We got seating in the back, which was an outdoor area. Right away they told us there were reservations so we would only be able to eat till around 7:15ish, which was totally okay. The back area was very cute, and extremely warm with the heater. For the food, we got 2 pizzas - honey pepperoni and the one with mushrooms. They were both good, but the crust was the best part. And the honey pepperoni said spicy on the menu but wasn't spicy at all.For appetizers, we got garlic bread and burrata cheese salad. The bread was on the drier side, couldn't taste much garlic. But the salad was very good.Overall, nice experience!“
“There are very few restaurants that serve amazing vegetarian prix fixe menus (every single item on the menu was a 10/10), and also leave you feeling full / content at the end of your meal. Flour + water does that! Highly recommend for a special occasion splurge!“
“Absolutely incredible. A friend and I stopped in to get dinner to take home for our families. I got the bolognese for my family and the vegetarian mushroom for myself and it was SO GOOD. The salad and bread that came with were so fresh. The tiramisu was the perfect dessert.I took it home cold and heated in the over per the instructions of the person who helped us. Who by the way, treated us like family!! I told him I had a long drive home and he gave me a water for my drive. I will be back. Customer for life.Vegetarian options: Best vegetarian lasagna I’ve EVER had. I got the mushroom one and it was incredible.“
“We went early, 5:30 on a Friday night. Just arrived in SF and still on East coast time. Our daughter booked the reservation and we were happy she did. I had the Tonnarelli Alla Capricciosa. Just the right amount. Soooo good!My wife had one of the fish specials. Didn’t get a pic but she loved it! Ricotta tart for me for dessert was as good as it looked in the pic. But our daughter’s dessert (a pear-centric dish) took the award for plating. Not only was neat to look at, but it was also delicious!Keep up the good work!“
“First time eating a deep dish chicago-style pizza as it's my first time in the US, and this was something else. Very nice, definitely different than a good old Napoletana I am used to :) the thin crust pizza was also very nice! For the two of us (one adult man and one woman), we've ordered a 10" thin crust pizza and an 8" deep dish pie (old Chicago style), and it was more than enough for us. The full-sized deep dish pie looked huge so I'm glad we didn't order it! It seemed like it would fill 4 adult men.“
“Although some of the prices were shocking.. Every dish was delicious. They have some sort of pulled pork hybrid toward alis , hybrid tortellini/ravioli.. a must eat. Also surprisingly the carrots were one of the best dish on the menu. Definitely worth a bite.“
“Food was amazing also the vibes in this restaurant are spectacular it's very lively. I had ended up having a cocktail over wine of course the gimlet there was bomb I ended up having two. Service was overly great I must say like a little too great not saying that I don't like to be checked up on but any given moment things were cleared and we were asked how is everything ...glasses were always full. The potatoes were alright and the brussel sprouts the same. I wasn't really digging the beef short rib but the agnolotti dal plin ugh was so good I will come back just for this.“
“Caffè Macaroni continues to be one of San Francisco's very best & most authentic Italian restaurants. Extensive menu, great food, very friendly staff, and a classic North Beach setting. You can spend a lot more to eat “upscale” pseudo-Italian food at places like Aquerello or Sorella. At the latter, the manager will tell you that you need to leave after an hour or so to make way for the next round of guests. Never mind that you're being charged a small fortune for the brief time you're there. Head to Caffe Macaroni!“
“I'LL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!I think that many will agree that rekindling a flame is a dangerous prospect. "...we had such a wonderful time together. Everything jived between us. It was so comfortable. So exciting. So decadent".Delfina Restaurant is amazing. So amazing that we're afraid to eat here again. Everything that I've heard over the years is true. Spending our anniversary at Delfina was a decision well made.I'm not a food critic or one that can (or dare attempt) explain food in its intricate details. But my wife and I eat out often. We enjoy fine dining and ultra fine dining, so I'm pleased to say that tonight's meal was one of our best. Each course was simply amazing. It made me pleased to think of how much pride went into the preparation and presentation. By the time our 3rd course was served, my wife and I both thought at the same time, there is NO WAY the next course will be amazing. We thought that again before dessert was served. From the bread to the panna cotta, it was simply pleasure and awe.Our server was delightful and had a charming personality. A true sweetheart that not only knew how to introduce the food but was just honestly charming. She made our wedding anniversary even more special. The artist Sade said it well. "Never as good as the first time." I guess that we will be back again.Parking: It's the outer Mission so parking is difficult. Friday, Saturday..... good luck. Uber in and just chill.Kid-friendliness: It's kid friendly, but keep in mind that it's a sophisticated restaurant and not a playground.Wheelchair accessibility: Room to maneuver if needed.“
“We had the pan-seared scallops and the Tagletelle special dish: tagletelle, snap pea segments, mushrooms, smoked prosciutto and a light cream sauce. And the Tiramisu for dessert. All were superb! And the service was impeccable. Highly recommend.“
“Few Saturday ago I had lunch here with some friends that they had already tried it. The owner is Italian and I spoke a little bit with him. The three of us shared the risotto of the day (seafood risotto), the octopus and the veal parmigiana, while my husband just the lasagna that he really loved it (and he is very picky about it). Risotto was good even though it was more similar to paella (speaking of taste it was good), octopus was good too, while the parmigiana wasn't my favorite but just because I don't like this dish in general (my friends really liked it). The owner was very friendly and gave to my baby a cup of ice cream. I was so busy to eat that I forgot to take pictures. Next time!!“
“This is my favorite place for a nice dinner in the Castro. The cozy upstairs location feels miles away from the craziness down on 18th Street. I love the interesting cocktail specials, the pasta dishes, and the tiramisu for dessert. We had an especially nice meal there for Thanksgiving.“
“Hands down, literally the best dinner I've ever had! From the wine, to Bruschetta appetizer, to meat canneloni and the best tirimissu I've ever had. I'm remember this dinner for a long time! The service was unbeatable as well.. hidden gem!“
“Even as someone who doesn't usually go for pasta, I want to come back here. Really great food that feels like it should cost more, and once you're impressed with a dish, you can then check their counter and take supplies home to have more. I love the energetic vibe, and how they've made use of the space. It's charming to be in a busy, active restaurant, where the staff still presents you your dishes with an explanation and answers your questions.“
“I had one of the best restaurant meals ever in San Francisco last night at Sorrel. The pictured dish is described as maitake / potato / dashi, the first course of seven and my favourite. The wine pairing was very good, and the service outstanding. Great celiac accommodation for me. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto. Highly recommended for a special occasion.Dietary restrictions: I had excellent accommodation for my celiac affliction. Instead of the pasta based crab dish I got a stunningly excellent sun-choke risotto.“
“Great food and service. We like the restaurant and will return. Only two issues. We were seated near the door which is always open and were so cold we needed to wear our jackets the whole time. The restaurant is very noisy inside, so all conversations are very loud and it's tough to hear. Arancinni and wings were excellent, pasta top notch.“
“A friend recommended Ciccino and the experience was wonderful. Small, not too noisy, great staff and excellent food. There were four of us, so we did a shared plate meal with wine. Focaccia, scallop skewer, romaine fennel salad, tartare, ravioli carbonara, rib eye, and dessert. The two specials were also exceptional. The oyster ravioli was my favorite. The owner and chef also made it a point to visit each table giving an extra special touch to the service level. Call in advance for reservations as seating is limited. Excellent experience.“
“We got the first table as you walk in the place and felt cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent and the food quite good. The chef's complimentary chocolate truffles for the restaurant's 10 year anniversary were excellent. We will certainly be back!Dietary restrictions: Our friend is gluten free and was happy with the available options.“
“i came here on a friday evening with a friend around 5:45 pm. there was no line so we were seated immediately. when we left an hour later, there was a line. we came during restaurant week and they were doing a $45/person dinner menu, but i opted to just order from the regular menu since i wasn't a big fan of the appetizer options and really wanted to try the bucatini, which wasn't on the restaurant week menu. when our food arrived, the portions seemed slightly on the smaller side so in retrospect i felt like it would've been nice to get an appetizer to share, but none of the appetizer options were that appealing to me. i like burrata but it came with mushrooms and i don't like mushrooms (this is just a personal preference, though). even though the portions were small, i wasn't hungry but i also wasn't full, which left plenty of room for dessert. we ordered the nutella sundae - it felt a bit much for 2 people (3 is probably a better number), and there was a LOT of syrup. as for the ambiance, the biggest impression i got was that the music was pretty loud. this made the atmosphere not conducive to intimate conversations, so i would mostly go here if i wanted a fast dinner at an early time. otherwise, i feel that the atmosphere is not worth the wait.“
“Nice ambience, solid friendly service. I'd come here again. Good for a date night. Extensive wine list, would order the margarita pie next time.Skip the castelvetrano olives, nothing special. Chicken liver crostini was solid, good ratio of liver to toast, and the little radish and olive on the plate was nice. You do taste the liver though, don't get me wrong.Gnocchi with nettle pesto was very good, nice texture on the gnocchi, not too firm or bouncy. Pesto and fonduta were rich, the chanterelles adds needed textural and flavor contrast. Pizza with fungi was solid but I'd recommend the margherita next time for more contrast with the acid of the tomatoes. The crust is really good here, nice chew, solid base with a little droop. The fungi pizza was just a little one note with the richness from the cheese and a little savoriness from the mushrooms, missing some acid for freshness for balance.Market price on the 1lbs roasted snapper (other option was sea bream) was $42. Nice firm flesh and they remove the central bone in advance. The preserved Meyer lemon on the side was only ok, the parsley sauce was better, the grilled scallions quite good. We picked the cabbage with bagna cauda for our side - great execution/char on the cabbage, the sauce was savory without tasting fishy at all with some crouton/crispy breadcrumbs for contrast. Highly recommend the cabbage.Buttermilk panna cotta nailed the texture but my table mates commented that it just felt like Greek yogurt given the tang and that's fair. It's hard to get the passion fruit on the spoon so it's a bit of a waste. For the brown butter gelato and blood orange sorbet to, the gelato was better imo, more depth of flavor, quite dense, but it overall tasted more milky like a fior di latte with just a touch of nutty brown butter at the end. I wonder if they add more milk solids to the butter to bump that up. Blood orange could have been more orange-y, get some oil extraction of the peels or something.“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is excellent, very European in presentation and portion size, with good variety. The staff is extremely professional, and will likely remember you on future visits. Atmosphere is very warm and comfortable.“
“This was a life-changing dining experience - and so wonderful that our group went two nights in a row! The menu was authentic, extensive, fairly priced, and everything we ordered was phenomenal. The service was the best I've ever had. (Pro tip: ask for Charles!) The setting was intimate and cozy - exactly what we were looking for after a long day in the city.Don't pass on Fino. It will be one of the best meals of your life!“
“This was a fabulous Italian restaurant in the marina! Unfortunately, you can't make a reservation before hand so you need to queue on the yelp waitlist. However, if you're flexible the wait time is not too bad. We were a party of 3 looking for seating on a Saturday around 8 and waited about 30 mins. Besides this, the restaurant is adorable with beautiful dish wear and cute decor. We got some white wine for the table which was delicious and the waiter was great with recommendations. I ordered the bolognese which was so flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. However, I do wish there was an option for more cheese on the pasta. We finished our meal with complimentary lemon gelatos which were very refreshing. Highly recommend Casado Osteria for your next date night or dinner with friends!“
“Everything about our experience here was phenomenal. The wait wasn’t long, the atmosphere was lively, multiple staff tended to us, and before we even got our food. The west coast oysters were great and the Cioppino was so flavorful and full of seafood.Shoutout to Connie, our waitress, for making our experience the more worth while. Your energy was very bright. Highly recommend!“
“A sassy classy breakfast! The coffee is straight-up tasty and the butter croissants are so fluffy to the touch. My wife had a polenta breakfast with a large chicken sausage ensconced within and I had a thin flat hot pizza with prosciutto and cheese and two sunny-side-up huevos in the center. Yumm! Service was prompt and courteous (almost courtly, she was so nice). And the atmosphere was firmly on the genteel side. But we needed that that morning. We left the cafe like we'd been to a day spa, ready to face the world!“
“What an amazing experience, the cocktails are a great start, the garlic shrimp app was perfectly cooked, get extra bread you are likely going to want to soak up all of the broth. The seafood is exceptionally fresh and the venue is amazing right on the water. The service is top notch, thank you Gladys for a great experience.“
