They blended a wine for me on the spot to my taste (Italian varietal of Cab Franc + 2 other wines to get a complexity, low tannins, dry with a little sweetness... no tobacco or char)! The food is pretty good.I went to try their New Year’s Eve menu.The fried potato ball appetizer is pretty good, very aromatic.The winter vegetable dish is good but not in particularly impressive.I love their seafood pasta dish. The homemade pasta has a great chewy texture and the sauce has a nice acidity to it which is appetizing.The seared salmon is good. The skin is very crispy but the fish is too “fishy”. SPQR Restaurant on Fillmore Street offers tasty adventures for any palate. Like many restaurants it does get loud, but my friends and I managed to snag a table in the window which cut down on the noise. The food and wait staff were perfect.
