“Going to a show, this is a great place to stop before the show. Just make sure you make a reservation, without one you’ll end up on the waitlist. The servers are great about asking what time your show is to make sure you’re out on time. Unfortunately, we felt ignored at the bar for way too long. We were there almost 15 min before we got a drink, and this is a lifetime when you’re sitting at the bar that holds 11 people total. Food was very good! The raclette foam could have had more raclette flavor, but I am just a good old cheese head. The duck was absolutely worth the order, I love this rich meaty dish and the way the pom seeds cut through the heaviness and add a burst of palate cleansing between each bite.“
“First time having brunch there and both the shakshuka and French toast were great! There was a slight miscommunication about when the dishes should arrive and they proactively fixed it. I appreciated how particular they were about when each dish should arrive. I'll definitely be back.“
“This is the second time we’ve been here and been absolutely obsessed with the food and drinks. Everything is amazing. We live 2 blocks away and our only complaint is that we havent discovered this restaurant until recently. I will definitely bring all my visitors “
“There aren’t too many places I’ve been this satisfied with. The food and all the ingredients tasted extremely fresh. It was well worth the price. Wife and I had a great experience. Will definitely be back ?We hadarugula citrus salad,Dungeons crab raviolis &Sausage and sage pizza“
“We had the best time at Sorella! The food was amazing and we left feeling full. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and delicious and the wine recommendations we had paired with our meal so well. Our favorite part about the dinner though was the service! Our waiter was extremely attentive but not over bearing. He was also hilarious which added to the experience! Everyone was so respectful and happy. Truly a great experience- we will be back!“
“Excellent service and delicious food. Really loved the freshness of the crudo and the sandwich was very rich and perfect for sharing. Obviously great wine with a good selection of glasses and bottles available. Best to make a reservation because it's on the small side but definitely with a try.“
“This is a cute spot for a date night!Seems like on weekends it gets busier and booked up so we went for a later reservation. The vibe an interior is cozy and intimate. The service was great: friendly and helpful with recommendations. We all agreed the pasta was good and all got finished!Appetizers were good but not great--maybe some more options there would be nice.“
“Pancakes (buttermilk, cinnabon) were delicious but french toast was not special, you can tell that they have an extensive quality menuI also liked the fact that they dont ask for tips to provide their staff an acceptable living. Thats a refreshing approach in “
“One of the best pizzas in San Francisco. Very small place with a parklet out front. About 5 individual sized pizzas on offer, with a daily salad special, and two daily desserts. Very casual and unpretentious but the food is glorious. Has thrived for about 25 years.Parking: Challenging. Allow time. Or take Lyft, Uber, or the bus if you can.Wheelchair accessibility: Outside seating is accessible, inside would be a tight squeeze.“
“When there’s a portrait of Nina Simone on the wall, that’s all you need to know, the foods gonna be amazing, and it was. Everything was delicious and the Socca was exceptional. What I loved most is that its the kind of place friends come to enjoy each other.“
“This is a restaurant I've been to numerous times and each time the space takes you somewhere special, a culinary journey really. Very upscale restaurant and environment. A perfect experience. The staff were all so awesome, fun group, and very professional as well. The food was incredible. The service is impeccable, presenting each dish to highlights it's freshness and meticulous construction. Highly recommend!“
“If there’s any complaints possible is that the Chef’s pick was too much food. The lamb Massaman curry was unbelievable. It is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. It was a fantastic meal with fantastic service. You cannot go wrong eating here.“
“Canela Bistro & Wine Bar is an Excellent spot. Welcoming & lively vibe, friendly & attentive service (Thank You Trinity), awesome wine list, and a delicious menu. Our favorite bite is their Roasted Bone Marrow. I highly recommend Canela Bistro & Wine Bar.“
“Among many excellent Italian spots in the city, this stood out. The homemade pasta has the perfect texture, and the fillings and sauces are delicate and wonderful. Service was kind and attentive, and the space - a favorite when it was Locanda and Ancora - remains intimate and elegant. Looking forward to another opportunity to dine.“
“Treating myself to a Friday brunch and couldn’t have picked a better place! I was immediately greeted by a genuinely friendly waitress and there was plenty of seating to pick from. I’m always on the search for a good breakfast sandwich and theirs hit the spot - so good!! I actually really enjoyed the smaller portions because they were so flavorful, didn’t make me feel stuffed, and allowed me to try the doughnut plate too:) Will definitely be back for more!“
“Great service and ambiance. Place where there are great places to sit for a quick coffee, go heads down on your laptop, or have lunch with a small team or group of friends.I was not blown away by the coffee or food I tried, but was decent and made up for by the rest.“
“TL;DR: Worth the visit, unique flavor profiles and pairings! Exceptional service. I celebrated my anniversary here and they did not disappoint! As soon as we got seated, there was a note to acknowledge our anniversary and it was a warm welcome! As someone who is indecisive, I enjoyed the structure of the menu, first two dishes were included while you had options to choose from for the next three courses. We had complementary Japanese milk bread to start and it was probably the best bread I've ever had! The cultured butter and warm bread make such a cravable combo! The second dishes were light and refreshing! The cured hiramasa had the perfect touch of spice from the Fresno vinaigrette and the Asian pear cut through ever so slightly making it a delicate pairing with the fish. The beet tartare has good texture with the horseradish foam and crunch from the pine nuts. Second course, the celery root ravioli was different and had a light herbaceous note that made the dish not too heavy like other pasta dishes. We added the supplemental agnolotti and they did not skimp out in the truffles. We're not usually fans of truffle but it was not overpowering and complemented in flavor and texture. Third course, we had all three dishes! Seared black cod and the A5 wagyu melted in your mouth, we didn't even need the knife to cut through. The sauces in both dishes cut through the fattiness and paired well with the decadent taste of both the fish and meat. The Sakura pork had a good chew and smokiness from the breakfast sausage was unexpected but made for a desirable pairing. Fifth and final course, we opted to try both desserts! The profiles of both sweet dishes were different but worth the try. The spiced chocolate had subtle ginger notes while having a good crunch complemented by the meringue. Spring forward definitely gave the feeling of spring with light and airy flavors of nutty coconut and green herb granita! All in all, I'd revisit to try out the revolving menus, the chefs really put time and thought in the courses and left me intrigued for what's coming up next. Service was kind, informative, and attentive. Our waters were always filled, dishes bussed, and table was marked all at appropriate times. Thank you again 7 Adam's team!“
“Impressive. Impressive agiotage. Very classy place with awesome history and rituals around every aspect of dining. Simple short menu, home made sauces, bread, fermented dressings. By the end of the meal you will be most likely full, but if you spare a bit for the desert - there are a few great items like: Creme Brûlée, tiramisu, Fantasy cake and strawberry shortcake. You have to book a table ~ 6 months in advance, but the trick is that if you book a table for more than 2 - you can get it much sooner.“
“What a great spot to hit up on a Saturday night, staff were super friendly and made the night enjoyable! There was a live DJ which made the ambience amazing. Can’t go wrong with anything you order, we really loved the octopus and steak!! (Steak was so tender and melts in your melt)You should also try their cocktails, uno and quatro… they were very good!** PS don’t forget to bring something to trade in !“
“A place on 24th St., the salvation to have a coffee, eat a good sandwich, have a beer and if you like everything Italian you will find it here! The guys are very friendly and the owner can't even speak of, I really liked it, I recommend it!“
“Wonderful, cute wine bar in the Excelsior offering daily wine flights and select teas/coffee. They specialize in natural wine and every bottle I've tasted there was delicious and interesting. Prices are super reasonable, especially given SF and inflation. And, there's even a 15% discount for healthcare workers and educators! Service is down-to-earth, friendly, and attentive. They also offer a unique wine club membership which I appreciate has various degrees of commitment--even as low as twice a year--with nice perks like 10% off all in-house purchases and no corkage fee on bottles purchased and consumed on site. Truly, a gem in San Francisco!“
“Been here a few times for drinks or a happy hour and SF Wine Society is a gem. It has a fun bocce court, is well decorated with a sense of atmosphere, and the folks here really know a lot about wine. And as random a compliment as this is to give, the bathroom here is seriously decadent, beautifully designed and fancy??? I think that alone is a testament to the care put into this place. All the food is really delicious so I recommend getting something to go along with your drinks!“
“Have loved this place since it opened and though we live in the south bay, whenever we're in SF, we can always rely on this place because the food is always very fresh and innovative, the service is relaxed and unobtrusive, and the convenience to get back home is a quick 5 minutes to the freeway home and we're back in Los Gatos in 50 minutes after a day in SF. We've tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.“
“My husband and I loved this restaurant! The open kitchen concept was really nice and we had a great experience! The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. All of our dishes were really tasty! We can recommend the manti, eggplant and you have to try the baklava! My husband is Turkish and loved going there! We will definitely be back!“
“Nice small tapas place owned by a couple of guys from Madrid in the Mission. +++ great location +++ lots of tapas to pick from +++ fast friendly service +++ nice owners and wait staff ++++ convenient and easy street parking +++ Blue Cheese Croquetas was awesome. +++The tinned Mussells were delicious. +++ Very tasty burnt cheesecake +/- Chicken skewers - chicken was very tender but lackluster on flavor. - stuffed pepper with salt cod way too salty for me. I'd go back and already sent several friend to check it out...“
“Stopped in with my buddy before a Warriors game. Place is open, spacious and well lit so it's very inviting. We quickly found a seat at the bar for two about 20-30 min before game time. Ordered a few beers (great beer selection) and were sipping on drinks within 10 minutes of waking in the door. People sitting next us at bar were friendly and bartender (also part owner) was extremely helpful and attentive while we're there. We had already eaten but food on menu and at people tables looked very good. Will definitely make sure to stop by here next time I'm in the area with a little more time to dive into food and wine/beer menu.“
“It’s a great bar for your first date; but no one returns to it ; and therefore it’s not a neighborhood bar; but It’s exterior architecture - a transportation hub / station converted to a bar - is startlingly good; but the interior doesn’t create a sense of belonging.Stools are designed to traumatize your posterior; perhaps a short date is best ; the beer and snacks and the service are great but without the neighborly feeling , it’s just another brick in the wall;“
“Exactly what millennials want and need: reasonable volume music, reasonable priced food and drink, and a classy but fun VIBE.Quality: 4.5Value: 5 (for SF)Service: 4Ambience: 5This place has great happy hour deals and a really great set of decor and music. You can head yourself talk! But the music is also good. What a concept!Service was a little mid; one of the servers wasn't in a great mood/was struggs but the rest were nice, and stuff came out eventually. The cocktails were GREAT! Really delightful choices and prices.Their happy hour deal on oysters is also pretty unheard of: $1.50 each and they were wonderful, briny and creamy.French fries were also great, as was the ceviche. Also, the ceviche we had was one of the best I've ever had.“
“One of the best wine bars in the city! Totally unpretentious, incredibly welcoming, and always a good time. The menu has a few changes regularly and there's ALWAYS a fantastic and varied wine selection. You can tell that every person who works here is passionate and loves what they do, one of the true gems of North Beach.Great spot for a romantic date in the evening, perfect place to chill with friends in the afternoon. Highly recommend the tastings - especially on Wednesdays! If you get a chance to take a class DO IT! You'll learn so much!“
“We enjoyed another lovely, relaxing evening at l'Ardoise, this time at the 9:15 seating on a cold and rainy night. We again shared the delicious Tiger Shrimp ravioli as a starter. My husband also remembered loving the Coq au Vin from our visit last summer and was very happy with his choice.I had the excellent and fairly priced salmon and cod special. The fish was wrapped together in a chard leaf and seared, placed on a bed of fresh crunchy cucumber and butternut squash spirals on top of mashed potatoes, then finished with a lobster sauce. The dish was beautifully prepared, the ingredients complemented each other, and the fish was tender and flavorful. I had a glass of white Sancerre, recommended by the waitress, and liked it. I asked for a half-pour to go with the rest of the meal and was accommodated, which I appreciated. Not all SF restaurants will do this! We would love to have a wider choice of wines by the glass as we are not big drinkers.Dessert to share was a special double swan puff pastry they added for Valentine's Day filled with hazelnut cream and "floating" on a lake of creme patisserie. Dinner was hearty, so we did not want a heavy dessert. The double decaf espresso was excellent and went well with it.The beautiful aspects of French culture are expressed here--the excellence of the food, comfortable atmosphere, and emphasis on enjoyment. We never felt rushed and enjoyed a lively conversation with our waiter. Several groups of friends hung out, talking and laughing as the restaurant emptied. There's something magical about a place that lets you retreat from the urban rush and be in the moment. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but it's worth it, and I think it will now be a regular feature of our SF trips.“
“A hidden gem for wine and dine in the downtown SF! Having previously enjoyed their sister wine bar of Bodega in North Beach, I was so excited to experience what the same owners had in store for us at Key Klub! The ambiance is dark and moody in the evening which makes it a perfect spot for a girls' get-together or a romantic date night. An ideal spot for conversations over a glass of wine. They have a great selection on natural wines which you can buy by the bottle or glass. Now, lets talk about the real star of the show - the food! my friends and I were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the plates are here. The mushroom fries were perfectly crispy despite the fact that they are drenched in a delicious mushroom cream sauce. The duck liver mousse french toast was a decadent and rich and the smash burger was perfectly cooked. Key Klub has definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to places in the cities and the mushroom fries alone are reason enough to have me coming back.“
“What a lovely new spot. We happened upon it during a walk and decided to grab a glass. Ambiance is hip, quaint, and chill. It seems clear that people in this neighborhood are really excited about this place - there was a steady stream of folks coming in the whole time. Wines are very high quality. I had a chilled red from El Dorado, really delicious and exactly what I wanted. My husband ordered one of the two beers on draft. We ordered the small cheese plate as well and all the Spanish cheeses were delicious. I can't wait to come back! I feel so proud when small businesses like this open up in SF and I am wishing this establishment great success.“
“A San Francisco gem. Unique take on square pan pizza; sauce & cheese were excellent, crust was ok, a bit too burned (we’ll try ordering light next time). Mushroom appetizer was delicious but the star of this place is the pizza. Great drinks; semifredo dessert is A++“
“Eating at Luisa's restaurant is like walking into a family kitchen and sitting down for an authentic home-cooked meal! We were just visiting the area after returning from a cruise and decided to try it. We enjoyed wine and appetizers of bruschetta, meatballs, Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio. Our main courses were Pappardelle with vodka sauce and Clams linguine with red sauce. We topped the evening off with a cannoli and limoncello and mascarpone cake with creamy lattes. Luisa was there watching that we got the best possible service. You owe to yourself to try this place at least once, but you'll probably return again and again.“
“I'LL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!I think that many will agree that rekindling a flame is a dangerous prospect. "...we had such a wonderful time together. Everything jived between us. It was so comfortable. So exciting. So decadent".Delfina Restaurant is amazing. So amazing that we're afraid to eat here again. Everything that I've heard over the years is true. Spending our anniversary at Delfina was a decision well made.I'm not a food critic or one that can (or dare attempt) explain food in its intricate details. But my wife and I eat out often. We enjoy fine dining and ultra fine dining, so I'm pleased to say that tonight's meal was one of our best. Each course was simply amazing. It made me pleased to think of how much pride went into the preparation and presentation. By the time our 3rd course was served, my wife and I both thought at the same time, there is NO WAY the next course will be amazing. We thought that again before dessert was served. From the bread to the panna cotta, it was simply pleasure and awe.Our server was delightful and had a charming personality. A true sweetheart that not only knew how to introduce the food but was just honestly charming. She made our wedding anniversary even more special. The artist Sade said it well. "Never as good as the first time." I guess that we will be back again.Parking: It's the outer Mission so parking is difficult. Friday, Saturday..... good luck. Uber in and just chill.Kid-friendliness: It's kid friendly, but keep in mind that it's a sophisticated restaurant and not a playground.Wheelchair accessibility: Room to maneuver if needed.“
“My friend and I had the BEST time here Saturday night!!! The service was amazing and everyone helping us was incredibly friendly and kind. Our servers went out of their way to make us feel special and were so much fun to interact with. They even came running out of the restaurant after us to give me my phone that I had left on the table by accident! Highly recommend - great atmosphere, delicious eats, fabulous time!“
“The dinner prix fixe was stellar. Each dish was special and interesting, and balanced. The care that the staff gave us was personal and thoughtful, and they tailored to our dietary restrictions.Dietary restrictions: Extremely accommodating to dietary restrictions. Just share with your server!“
“I had the pleasure of having my birthday at SF wine and cheese, and it was MAGNIFICENT. The food, the wine, the atmosphere - magical. Shirley was so wonderful, so helpful and just the best. I would give 10 stars if I could. If you need a spot for good charcuterie, or a place that transports you back to Paris, this is it. Look no further. Just, go!“
“Such a hidden gem - One of the best Thai restraunts Iv'e had in the Bay Area! They have a main menu that mostly contains the more standard Thai dishes that might see at a lot of other places. But they also have a hidden menu with some really unique Thai dishes that I haven't seen very often here but had when I visited Thailand and this brought back tons of memories! For the 2 of us, we got the fresh raw shrimp appetizer, papaya salad with blue crab, crab omlette, and stir fried morning glory. All the dishes were yum, but the first 2 were quite spciy! Servers are also super friendly and price is very reasonable for SF especially considering its location in the Marina. Highly recommend!“
“I had such a wonderful time at Birba recently. I come here occasionally, but my last visit stuck out and I really want people to know how great and delicious this place is (and kinda not, because I like being able to quickly get seated in their gorgeous back garden). The sparkling wine from Jura was so good, and our server suggested some sherry to eat with our cheese plate that was such a good combo. I just love it here!“
“Frances is a San Francisco and personal longtime favorite. The food is normally priced for San Francisco - $32-45/plate. Please note that there is also a 7% surcharge tacked on, so be sure to account for that if you're dining on a budget. Can't go wrong with these menu selections: The pork The Brussels sprouts (seasonal, not on website menu), but very good The warm chocolate mousse is pleasant The royal Caviar is from Tsar Nikolai, a local brand.“
“Fable is amazing! From the warm atmosphere, decor, their wonderful staff, and unbelievable great food made my first night in San Francisco one to remember. Thank you Chef Brandon for the suggestion and to our fabulous dining room attendant Lori.“
“It was fun to discover Bar Gemini in Mission/Potereo Hill... cozy little bar with a nice atmosphere and a tasty selection of foods and drinks. We got a great cheese board (paired with a French carignane and Austrian blaufrankisch), as well as smoked salmon dip, which was quite delicious. We'll try to come back!Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options on the menuDietary restrictions: Some vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan choices available“
“I recently hosted my birthday party here and everyone had a fantastic time! Sabrina and team were super welcoming and ran everything so smoothly. We did a flexible set-up with a minimum charged for wine & charcuterie and then cash bar after that, which is ideal for this type of event. This is a great event space for ~20-40 people, would highly recommend!“
“A sassy classy breakfast! The coffee is straight-up tasty and the butter croissants are so fluffy to the touch. My wife had a polenta breakfast with a large chicken sausage ensconced within and I had a thin flat hot pizza with prosciutto and cheese and two sunny-side-up huevos in the center. Yumm! Service was prompt and courteous (almost courtly, she was so nice). And the atmosphere was firmly on the genteel side. But we needed that that morning. We left the cafe like we'd been to a day spa, ready to face the world!“
“Absolutely Divine! Each 'bite' is it's own expression of flavor and talent. They have a lot to be proud of. I tried things I would have never tried on my own. Albeit now, I doubt others will live up to the new expectations!I will say, having read the other reviews here, they should try a few newer things, as it seems they've been doing the same set for 5+ years, making repeat visits bland in terms of originality.Parking: Valet parking.“
“Love this spot! We asked the bartender for recs because the menu was so long (but super well organized by wine, sake, and flavor profiles for both) and got a great orange wine and plum sake. They were both sweet and fruity, exactly like we had asked. I've never been a fan of sake but this place makes me wanna try a more! It's super dark but we liked the vibes, and they have a 40% section in the back packed full of wines and sakes.“
“Love this place. It really reminds me of restaurants in Italy where you are not rushed and you don't get the check dropped until you ask for it. Drinks and food was pretty quick. I had a glass of the montepulciano di abruzzo. The server gave good recommendations for my friend that was not familiar with Italian wines. She had the gnocchi and I had the homemade fettuccine with vodka sauce and procuitto. They were both so good and perfect serving size, petite, filling but not stuffed. Small place, dark ambience, music playing but not too loud to hear your own conversation. Got a table at 7pm for 2 with no reservation on a Wednesday night. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!“
“Had the white wine and the Gabagool — it was a treat!! If you can, try to sit the corner where the sun hits you.Service and vibes are similar any other bougie wine bar, with excellent waiter recommendations on food options. Will go again!!“
“Seven Hills opens their kitchen and welcomes you into their home. The truffle pasta is what my boyfriend and I come back for every single time. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and the food is made so fresh. Truly incredible tasty date night spot — book ahead of time for sure as it does get busy. The polpette is a must try as well, the sauce is incredible“
