In the age of Covid, we need to treat ourselves. What better way than provisions like fancy $12 dried pastas from Italy and natural pétillant wines the color of pink sunsets from hipster vignerons.
I wish I had pulled the trigger sooner on visiting for a dining experience before COVID restrictions! I have made it in for some provisions the last few months and have been so impressed with many of the offerings! They have some very affordable wines for a wide array of tastes, not simply the hip natural wine connoisseur. And the pate en croute, terrines, and house made sausages are SO TASTY! Absolutely incredible. We had a closed dinner and it was Italian. I lived in Italy and it's hard to impress me with Italian restaurants. Wonderful radicchio salad. Incredible pasta Bolognese and tortelli (served separately), and then an amazing bistecca fiorentina. The only suggestion would be to cook the bistecca on a bed of rosemary based in lovie oil, which many Fiorentini do. Then, REAL, freshly made gelato. Light as air. I ate way too much
