“On a sunny day this has got to be one of the best spots to have lunch in the Bay Area. The view of the city skyline and Golden Gate Bridge is breathtaking, and the rich flavors of the dishes complement this visually experience well. The place can get busy so make sure that you have the patience to wait in line when coming on a nice day. Also beware it can get windy in the afternoon. Food is very fresh, and I believe this place is uniquely positioned to provide a delicious beginning or ending to a morning adventure to Treasure Island“

Not only does this place have excellent food and staff, they also offer a genuine atmosphere of community and inclusivity. Miles, the co-owner I’ve become most familiar with, makes people feel uniquely welcomed. It’s like having a community center that also served up great beer, sports on TV, and musical ambience. Billingsgate Seafood Markets •

“This is definitely a first class seafood counter that also doubles as an oyster bar. It gives a cute café vibe, with the freshest most high quality oysters you'll ever encounter. Oysters are truly my favorite, and I'm a bit of an oysterologist so believe me when I say, the oysters they carry are definitley high quality and delicious. The oyster selection is as follows;St Simon: hails from Shippagan New Brunswick Canada, and has A dynamic sharp brine taste. The shell is brown and light bodied with supple meat and a sweet mineral finish on the backend. I never had these before like EVER...However, they quickly became my favorite over my favorite lolMiyagi: Originally was cultured in Japan but now hails from Washington state. they have fluted shells. Large portions of meat, and have a savory tangy backend. These are my all time favorite oysters. Standish Shore: Grown in Duxbury Massachusetts with a sweet buttery smooth texture. I think if your a beginner at eating oysters these would be a great choice for you.Shigoku: These oysters are cultivated in Washington state. The meat on these oysters seem to be plump and springy. They require a little more chew in my opinion and has a cumber taste on the backend.Hope this helps!“

A variety of interesting, delicious and unusual beers. I had a barrel-aged sour plus an imperial stout with grape must, and both were fantastic and divisive. Like I bet a bunch of people would have hated one or both, and to me that's an indicator of a good beer.We also had the pickled vegetables, which were made in house. It was a light pickling and they were delicious and converted my companion, an anti-pickle person.I would have liked to see more weird pickled and fermented things, given the name. O'Keeffe's Bar Bar
5th Ave, San Francisco

“You could call O'Keeffe's divey, but for me it doesn't have the sticky, icky, or even sleazy connotations that many dives do.The name refers to the owners, who immigrated from Ireland many decades ago and have made this a true gathering point for the neighborhood over the years, whether older or younger types or blue- and white-collar folks. The interior is just large enough to manage a pool table, but otherwise it feels like a cozy living room or mancave with a combination of both tables, loungey chairs, and, of course, a wooden bar. The walls are full of Irish and San Francisco-centric memorabilia, like pennants from the Giants' championship years. As for the drinks, they're basic. They don't do chi-chi cocktails, but they do serve certain mixed drinks, plus they have plenty of Irish bottled brews. An excellent find on my Yelp app while out and about!“

“We've been to Wilson & Wilson numerous times and we always have a blast. Reservations are decently easy to get (same-day is often available for small parties) and it's a fun, intimate speakeasy experience. The menu is in a detective's case file, and you can read through the report and sift through the evidence as you enjoy your drinks. Their cocktails are thoughtfully crafted, presented well, and tasty. Prices have gone up recently but nothing egregious. The only downside to Wilson & Wilson is the seating. The entire space only has bar seating, a few high tops for parties of 2, and one larger table (for around 4 people) in the back. All the seats are stools (and not particularly comfy), and the space is decently narrow/tight. Definitely not the best place for a large group but great for an intimate, candlelight night out.“

“This place really blew me away! The food was all incredible and featured innovative takes on a fusion of Asian cuisines. We ordered a good chunk of the menu and honestly loved everything we had! They also had delicious options for mocktails that were complex and not too sweet. Our server's energy was a bit flat, but other than that it was such a great experience and I can't wait to return.“

“This place is the ideal dive bar. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and even better people watching. Great selection behind the bar, along with quite a few activities (i.e. darts, pool, shuffleboard, basketball head-to-head, etc.). It's definitely a fun place if you're in the neighborhood. A bucket of Modelo was $25“

The Chapel Bars

“Great little venue.A lot of good bands and people.Service can be unnecessarily rude though and the sound guy tends not to listen to the band.At least that was my experience tonightI could clearly see the musician signaling the sound engineer to adjust their volume and there was never a response. Then we all moved to Curio next door (same ownership) and the bartender was polite but a girl just randomly started to scream unnecessarily for people to leave (it was late but not 2am as she kept yelling). We’ve all been in bars late and this was really over the top rude. That being saidThe chapel is still a great venue(Just work on the sound control)“

“Really happy we discovered the North Beach Cantina on a very competitive block. Their taco Tuesday is one of the better deals we've found. We each got 3 vegetarian tacos for $7. She loved hers, and the impossible chorizo I had was better than expected. This place has good music and vibes and the staff is awesome. There will be many taco Tuesdays for us I expect.Vegetarian options: Good place for vege tacos.“

Brew Comparison

“My husband Pat and I (kim) always look forward to our visits to Marina Lounge. Bartender Peter greets us like great friends! Patrons are always friendly. We enjoy our conversations with the clientele. As visitors from Sonora they offer great places to enjoy meals and there are many delightful places in neighborhood serving a variety of steak, Asian, Peruvian, burgers etc. Never disappointed. All in walking the close neighborhood. But we shout out to our bartender friend, Peter, for adding fun to our visit. Best part we feel safe in the neighborhood.“
