“A large selection of above average beers on tap and an upscale bar menu with kicked up favorites (K.orean F.ried C.hicken wings) and adventurous bites for foodies (octopus*). Overall the place is a bit pricey$$, but the beer slingers are attentive, knowledgeable and often willing to let you taste a beer. Thus avoiding buyer's remorse. And the food comes out hot and fast!“

“One of the best fish & chips in the city. Their pub food is far superior to Pig & Whistle.
The owners here may not hail from mum England but they have the recipes down better than anyone. Chicken pot pie was good, not too greasy. The sticky toffee dessert is highly recommended. Good service.“

“This place is not what I was expecting. Chug Pub has got awesome 49ers memorabilia on the walls, as a 9ers fan I can really appreciate this. This would be a great bar to go and watch 49ers games at. The bartender was super friendly he bought a round of tequila and there were three of us. Not sure why he did this but it worked because we came back later and drank some more! The food is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. We ordered the nachos with tinga, if you dont know what tinga is its mexican bbq and it is a must try. The chips in the nachos were some the best I have ever had, I love my chips on the well done side almost burnt and thats how these chips came. I loved it! When we came back later I ordered a California burrito and it was hands down the best California burrito I have ever had. I live an hour away and I plan on going back on a Sunday to have some drinks, eat amazing Mexican food and watch some 49er games. The bathrooms arent the best but everything else makes up for it.“

“I threw my partner a birthday party here and the staff went out of their way to make everything easy and fun. They were incredibly busy because of an event in the Mission and yet still checked in on our party and provided whatever we needed. In addition to their huge awesome patio, they have good food (not just good for a bar) and really good cocktails. They have free live music on the weekends. Always a good time. Highly recommended. I’ve never had a bad time here.“

“Final Final will forever hold a special place in my heart. Was in town with friends visiting from NY and we were thrilled to find a bar that showcased New York sports. We watched the Knicks win their NBA Championship 🏆. The vibes were great, a lot of good energy and fun atmosphere. Was impressed with how the bar tenders handled the huge crowds. They seemed short staffed but you wouldn't know it
Very fun experience“

“Really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The drinks were excellent, and I loved that there were games available, which made the experience feel more interactive and fun. The crowd was friendly, conversations flowed easily, and the overall energy was laid-back without feeling boring. A great spot to meet up with friends, catch up over drinks, or simply enjoy a relaxed evening out. I'll definitely be back!“

“Nice neighborhood bar. We used to come to The Bitter End during the weeknights back in the late 90's as my friends lived nearby. It is nice to see they are still busy. It is the type of restaurant/bar where you order at the bar. You fetch your own drinks and if you are eating, tell them which table you are at. The fish & chips $20 come with mushy peas. That is rare in San Francisco as most restaurants don't have mushy peas. The batter was light and the fish was perfectly cooked. My food came out fairly quickly as it was busy.“

The food did look really good, but alas we came after dinner.

“My friend and I went looking for a day bar for a drink to catch up and luckily they were open around 4 in the afternoon!
This neighborhood bar really feels like a local spot. Well lit during the day with ample counter seating and tables, along with a billiards table for some friendly competition.
Bartender was really friendly and eager to share what beers and ciders were on tap. Selection mostly made up of local drafts meaning the quality was really good.
Love finding these little neighborhood gems and I hope they continue to last for as long as possible.“
“Good place. I'm always leery of bars with giant tvs, but they had cool classic rock on the sound system and the TVs were playing the game silently. So that was cool. I'd go back. Also they have some good beers on draft. The 805 is one of my favorites.“

“I have eaten at plenty of airport restaurants but Maila provided the best service I’ve had outside of an airport lounge. Maila was attentive, personal and engaging. Food was good, drinks were (as always) overpriced but Maila made it wonderful.“

“Spent a great evening a the Mad Dog in the Fog. Good food. Good trivia. Great people. Thanks to Killian for making our night sensational. Best Irish pub in San Fran.“
“Irish is spoken here. Join in discussions, stay away from politics, mind yourself, and they always take care of you. Misbehaving will not be tolerated and they don’t care if your great grandparents ran a chinky takeaway in Cork City.“
“Everything a modern specialty coffee shop should be. The barista actually calibrated the grinder before pulling my shot, which tells you everything you need to know about their quality control. Incredible espresso, fresh pastries baked on-site, and a very laid-back, welcoming vibe. They don't cut corners on anything here. Easily a top-three cafe in the city. 10/10.“

“First brewery of the day and what an excellent neighborhood brew pub sitting on the corner of Bryant St and Cesar Chavez St. A lot to choose from so we went high ABV with the Hazed & Confused Double Hazy IPA at 9%. We both enjoyed it.“

“My brother loves beer and we get together a couple times a month. We had not been there in years, and this is where I remember them having a great beer selection. They have really done a great job on the remodel and the music is at a level you can talk at! The food was good and the beer was great. I will be back!“
“Very cool place. More room than i imagined“
“Great local spot that makes you feel young again by carding you! Awesome bartenders and great cocktails!“
“Such a cute dive bar! Love the bartender. She was the sweetest person ever who invited to play puzzles that made our night so much fun. Must come visit bar to enjoy the chill vibes with great music (our night had 2000s pop which my friends and I sang to all night long).“

“McCarthy’s is everything you want in a neighborhood spot—welcoming, laid-back, and just plain fun. The vibe is classic and unpretentious, with friendly staff who make you feel like a regular the minute you walk in. Drinks are always cold and poured strong, prices are fair, and it’s the kind of place where conversation just flows. Whether you’re catching a game, grabbing a pint with friends, or just stopping by after work, McCarthy’s nails it. West Portal is lucky to have this gem!“
“A well located hotel with everything you would need for a short stay in San Francisco. Good size, clean and comfortable room. Efficient check in and check out process. Games room and cafe on site but we did not use. Only negative was the noise coming from the street outside especially the street cleaning at 4am.“
“Great neighborhood bar. Excellent place to see the Dodgers loose !“
“I think either the oldest or 2nd oldest bar in SF (maybe in California?). Great bar. A true classic.“

“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. He wouldn’t accept a tip, so went back to have a beer after dinner. He remembered our name. He is the true meaning of customer service and I’ve told all of my friends to go see him at the Showdown. Thanks again, Joe“

“The best bar in the Haight and it's even better on the first Fridays of the month when they have live Grateful Dead music! Went again last night and had a blast not to mention they've got Dogfish Head Grateful Dead Juicy Pale Ale. Neil pours a perfect pint and the prices are right! A true SF treasure! Bonus - I scored a Doghead T-shirt :D“
