“Absolutely living up to it’s name and it’s claims. As a tourist from Europe, mostly familiar with Scotch and Irish whiskey, I asked for something special from the US and I wasn’t disappointed. Thanks guys! Nice ambience and tasteful timeless interior design too.“

“I love a good Irish / neighborhood bar. It's more upmarket than other Irish bars in SF given the neighborhood. The beers are on point, and the tv's will certainly grab your attention if you come here alone. Friendly bartenders and the place is filled with locals.“

“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. He wouldn’t accept a tip, so went back to have a beer after dinner. He remembered our name. He is the true meaning of customer service and I’ve told all of my friends to go see him at the Showdown. Thanks again, Joe“

“When we fly out of the Harvey Milk Terminal at San Francisco International Airport we like to eat at the Bourbon Pub! We’ve been consistently impressed with their breakfast menu! While their prices are high( compared to eating at a diner outside of the airport) the quality of their meals makes it worthwhile.“
“If you are in the know, Black Horse London Deli is the smallest coolest bar in SF and around the world possibly. The King, James has run this place for a couple of decades, it is the most unique bar spot in SF, fits only 2 handfuls of dedicated patrons, a special brand of humans indeed, the service is unsurpassed. After shelter in place, James turned it into a gourmet sandwich and hot dog kitchen, this King knows how to cook as well. So all you peeps who uses Postmates, grubhub etc. This place rocks and the food he serves is just super delicious, end of story“

“The food and drinks were excellent. ..“
“The cocktails here are top-notch! (A rarity for the Castro.) Make sure to try one of the cocktails off of the menu on the chalkboard at the center of the bar. Sometimes it’s so busy that you can barely find standing room, which can still be fun, but for the peak experience, come at a slow time when there are seats at the bar. My only complaint is that sometimes they’re running one bartender when they should be running two. Overall: a hidden gem.“

“I've had the good fortune of experiencing The Napper Tandy both as a patron as well as a music performer. As a patron, I can tell you that the food here is the BEST pub food you will ever find (I particularly recommend the reuben - the best I've ever had, hands down!)! As a performer, the staff as well as the crowd have always been extremely friendly, accommodating, and inviting. There's just something about the vibe of this place that seems to make people happy! The managers, Marissa and Nicola, are are absolute gems of human beings and their staff reflect their personal awesomeness! I'm looking forward to my next meal as well as my next show at The Napper Tandy. Hope to see ya there!“
“Our regular stop when in San Francisco....and our favorite St. Patrick's Day loca....“
“Irish is spoken here. Join in discussions, stay away from politics, mind yourself, and they always take care of you. Misbehaving will not be tolerated and they don’t care if your great grandparents ran a chinky takeaway in Cork City.“

“I've been a Shotwells customer for over a decade. They have a great selection of beer, a pool table, a conversational atmosphere, and great bartenders and regulars. If you live in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself to stop by, enjoy a pint, a good conversation, and on a sunny day, be sure to sit outside in their beautiful parklet.“

“It was my first time going in there, and the service was awesome even though they had a big football game thing going on they made sure I was comfortable for my to go order. I ordered the better in simpler and they made it just the way I liked it and substituted the things that I didn’t like without any hesitation, I will be going back there“
“Great old Skool bar. Bartender rocking on Spotify! good times! good drinks! Good peeps!“

“Schnapps are no longer served here, which is a real bummer!!! I'd always go there pre-covid for the rowdy atmosphere, Schnapps, beer, and schnitzel!
The newer menu is an abbreviated version of the old one. You can still get the sharable favorites, such as pretzels and sausage platter, but it's not as tasty as it used to be. Also, Fridays and weekends are dead af unlike the T-Th crowds.“
“I think either the oldest or 2nd oldest bar in SF (maybe in California?). Great bar. A true classic.“

“Edgy drinking howf in the old hippie area of SF. Three real ales on handpump on offer - the only place in North America that I’ve so many handpumps working in a single outlet! Even better is the fact that the two real ales that I tried were in very good condition.
Please note that it’s a ‘Cash Only’ establishment - the only place that I found in North America with this payment policy. Also note the antique cash register behind the bar, which is still working.
Definitely worth a visit for some excellent beers, and a walk down memory lane!“

“We really loved this place and ate there at least 4 times during our stay in SF. They remembered us after the first visit, were very kind, exceptionally efficient and the food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner.
The atmosphere was cool, the decor old school Irish pub awesome. They had a lot of great choices and even our grandchild was pleased with her meals.
Kid-friendliness: Staff were very accommodating and made menu adjustments any time we asked.“

“Unreal tap list including local brews, ciders, and wine. Crazy range of beers from lambic style sours to TIPA to Guinness. Definitely something for everyone.
Food always impresses us - amazing fusion dishes meet light bar bites. Would go for the popcorn chicken with Japanese dipping sauces, guacamole, and chicken sandwich are all chef’s kiss.
Top it off with amazing staff. Pedro and his crew are a ton of fun and super polite. Had a blast hanging at the bar working our way through the menu.“
“They don’t serve craft beer here anymore. So now it’s basically a just a spacious and mellow cafe. That isn’t a bad thing, but it doesn’t have the same vibes these days. The coffee is so so, but there’s generally space to spread out and chill. Plus you can grab groceries and whatever upstairs.“
“I had a total blast! Very retro vibe. Amazing people.“

“This is where the locals finishing a late shift come for an adult beverage in the morning (the bar opens at 6am) and locals drop in to see friends. The bartenders are awesome and everyone is friendly to an outsider that walks in. I especially love that it opens at 6am and it's a drink I'm looking for in the morning hours.“

“lovely bartenders, strong drinks, dog friendly, great ambience, ample seating. clearly a place regulars love and newcomers are welcome in. don't take your drinks outside the door, that is a dumb move that I did. high recommend drinking the drinks inside of the bar though.“

“First brewery of the day and what an excellent neighborhood brew pub sitting on the corner of Bryant St and Cesar Chavez St. A lot to choose from so we went high ABV with the Hazed & Confused Double Hazy IPA at 9%. We both enjoyed it.“
“Small but cozy pub with very attentive staff. Went for the live music, stayed for the drinks and good times. ?
No tickets but there is an entry fee at the door once the music begins. You can check the website to see a calendar of events and times.
Definitely visiting again.“
“The Nags Head is a welcoming neighborhood bar where the bartender puts in the effort to learn your name and get to know you. When I went, most people at this establishment were on a first name basis. It was so refreshing to see a strong sense of community despite being in the city. The bar primarily offers beer and ciders, but the bartender can make you any cocktail if they have the ingredients, and the drinks are very affordable.“
“Great neighborhood bar. Excellent place to see the Dodgers loose !“

“We rented out Elixir for four hours on a Saturday for our wedding reception. It was an incredible experience and one we’ll never forget. We are still receiving rave reviews from our family and friends who attended. The bar itself is fun, cozy and a slice of San Francisco history. The service was exceptional and we're really grateful for how communicative and helpful the manager (Nick) and lead bartender (Nick) were leading up to the event, and on the day of the party. The cocktails were great, and the bespoke menus that they printed out for us were a great touch. The tech worked as expected (music + slideshow + microphones), and the set up was easy. Everything went off without a hitch because of the staff’s gracious hosting, experience and attention to detail. I highly recommend Elixir for a drink or to host a party.“

“A well located hotel with everything you would need for a short stay in San Francisco. Good size, clean and comfortable room. Efficient check in and check out process. Games room and cafe on site but we did not use. Only negative was the noise coming from the street outside especially the street cleaning at 4am.“
“It was a nice place, they have different of beers selection and nice alcohol drinks.Nice neighborhood bar for a busy day and kind of get a nice drink in good pricesWe got some food and it was all right, I will say food it’s not the strongest but if you’re hungry then grab a bit it’s okay. The service was good the guy was always making sure everything was all right with us.Adding photos!!Hope this help“

“Love Casements and Gillian is great to work with. We held our merchant mixer on the back patio. There was some chill live music playing and staff was attentive and fast. They have a good selection of mocktails and bites. Thank you!
Vegetarian options: They had a great veg pot pie too.“
