“First time here, just moved back to the area. It’s Wednesday sun is shining and they have great beers! Service has been amazing, saw some negative reviews and not sure if I got lucky because of the timing.
Not very busy, a couple of TV’s for sports, honestly for me love this atmosphere. Oh and big plus they are dog friendly. You will enjoy your time here if you are not in a rush or trying to be too “Marin”“

“Not rating atmosphere since small take place, although front patio has couple tables with small view of SF Bay. This is our favorite Friday night pizza ! Call and order ahead and pick it up 30 min later on busy night. Always ready, always good. Great gluten free pizza, plain cheese and Hawaiian regulars are great!“

“Had a luncheon @ Perbacco with my 9 coworkers and Manager to say “goodbye & farewell” to a retiring coworker and “welcome” to a new coworker. Started with a round of hors d'oeuvre’s. The thin sliced veal with a sauce and capers was delicious! The fried shrimp, veggies and olives/anchovies…also with a sauce was awesome as well. For my main, I had CRESTE DI GALLO - semolina pasta - wild mushroom ragu - spinach - ricotta salata. Our waiter was the best! I saved one of the sugar cookies from my deserts…Burnt Carmel Gelato. Mentioned it to our waiter and as we were leaving, I heard “Sir! Sir!” He brought me one of their meringue cookies to also share with my partner! I thought that was just awesome! “Great neighborhood restaurant. Attentive service, great food. We started with the frittura mista - calamari, prawns and zucchini lightly breaded and crispy. Served with a delicious slightly spicy marina sauce. One of the best I have had. Also had the beef carppaccio, very generous serving with perfectly sliced parmesan cheese and lightly dressed arugual with balsamic. Main course was buccatini amatriciana. Seasoned just right and a perfect portion size. HIghly recommend Amarena!“

Stopped by Golden Boy Pizza and tried their Veggie Pizza in a small size — and it absolutely hit the spot! Tasty, fresh, and just the right amount of satisfying.

“We had a superb dinner at Rose's Cafe last night. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious, and the whole staff was extraordinary. Everyone, especially our server, Layla, made us feel welcome, comfortable and unrushed even though we arrived only twenty minutes before the kitchen closed (not on purpose, we were delayed arriving into SF). We arrived at Capo’s around 7:20 pm on a Saturday and were told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table.
As hungry travelers, we said thank you and as we were about to leave, the hostess finds a nook and sat us down outside. I appreciate the fact that she did us that favor.
There were no patio heaters, so if sitting outside or walking in during busy hours, expect to dine outside in the cold with no heat (during winter).

(The Staff)
It was a very busy night, but the staff did a spectacular job in checking in on us.

(The Food)
The appetizers come in a reasonably sized portion, we ordered the garlic bread with mozzarella and was given a complimentary dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
My partner ordered the meat lasagne and I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka with smoked pancetta. The food was really good, it’s unlike anything I have ever had.
Take in mind that the dishes do serve up to 2 people, on busy nights it make take a bit to get your food, and regular pizzas take up to 20 minutes to bake, deep dish pizzas take up to 45 minutes to bake (but they look like they are worth the time!)

I would have loved to sit inside, the vibe is really nice. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, book a reservation at Capo’s.“

I got us tickets to dear San Francisco, which is a wonderful show at Club Fugazi just 3 blocks away from this great restaurant! Paolo took wonderful care of us. His wine, suggestions and appetizer and entrée tips were the best! The pasta is homemade and very delicious and special. We tried the gnocchi with pesto, as well as a delicious braised meat, red sauce over fresh linguine. We also enjoyed the grilled (not fried) octopus. The tiramisu for dessert was perfect! “During our visit to SF we were looking for food close to homemade. This was the place! Char-broiled chicken was very good, fresh made fried potatoes were absolutely delicious, not a regular “french fries”.

“I'll start off with a shout out to the super friendly and helpful staff and how they manage fitting in parties of all sizes in the small dining room.

I loved the pasta. The spaghetti and meatballs were cooked perfectly and really showed off the fresh pasta, delicious meatballs and elevated sauce. I also recommend the corn ravioli as a well balanced and flavorful dish, and the grapefruit olive oil pana cotta. The lasagna was solid, expect many layers of pasta but not as much meat and not a must have for us.

Next time i think we could pass on the side dishes and sadly the garlic bread was not particularly amazing.

My Italian crepe (Crespelle) was light, tasty, and so good for breakfast. One of the few places that get the sunny egg yoke right and doesn’t over cook the egg.

“Situated on Ark Row, Servino Trattoria is run by Natale Servino, who I would venture to call a proper, old-school restaurateur. He clearly runs a tight ship, but the restaurant still has plenty of soul and personality, which I think is a difficult balance to get right. There’s structure, but it doesn’t feel sterile. The care is there.

Servino gives you a few different ways to experience the place. You can sit outside and keep things casual, grab a seat in the Enoteca bar, or eat in the main dining room, which is very nice and gives you a view into a seriously impressive kitchen.

The quality of the ingredients is obvious. They source local California and San Francisco-caught fish, high-quality meats and produce, and some of the best olive oil I’ve ever had. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what olive oil they use because I genuinely cannot seem to find anything quite like it.

Jennifer was our waitress and an absolute sweetheart. A Bay Area local who gave us great recommendations for both food and drinks and made the whole evening better. The service had that perfect blend of professionalism and freedom that, in my opinion, gives a restaurant soul. You’re taken care of, but nobody is hovering over you.

It’s been a little while since this particular dinner, but I still remember most of it. We started with the Santa Cruz-caught bluefin tuna carpaccio 🫰🏼 and the Crostini con Cucuzza with stracciatella and summer squash, which was absolutely delicious. The crostini in particular was out of this world for being relatively simple.

I had a vermouth cocktail that was excellent as well. When I go back, I’ll try something else.

The standout for me was the house-made squid-ink pasta with uni. They absolutely loaded it with uni, which Natale graciously explained how they’re able to do. There’s a running joke among my friends about being a “uni pasta hog” because most uni pasta gives you like four beautiful pieces of uni and suddenly sharing becomes a moral dilemma.

Not here.

Natale explained that they’re able to source some of the less visually perfect pieces rather than paying a premium exclusively for pristine whole uni tongues. Same ingredient, same flavor, much better economics, and they can actually load the pasta with it. I loved that. It made it possible to share without feeling like you’re either skimping or hogging all the best bites.

We finished with a seasonal fruit crostata, which was also delicious.

Servino felt like a restaurant run by people who genuinely care about the ingredients, the kitchen and the experience. It’s polished without losing its personality. Natale runs a tight ship, Jennifer made us feel at home, the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing, and the ingredients speak for themselves.

There’s soul in the place. That’s what I appreciate most. I attached the few photos I took. The food was too good to spend my time taking photos.“
