I first came to Tommaso's in 1966 when a student at San Francisco State. Does anyone remember the SF Opera chorus lining the center table and singing? Or the drag queens from Finnochios? There was always a can of AquaNet in the men's restroom. What a great place!
I first went to Tommaso's about 50 years ago. They have always had the most excellent marinated vegetables, pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes. I don't get there too often anymore but my son took me there for my birthday last night. Delicious as usual. I had the manicotti and meatballs.

Great and historical restaurant. The place has been run by the same family with the same pizza oven since the 1930s. Their calzones and pizzas are delicious, plus they make one of the best pesto sauces I've ever had.
