About Capo's by Tony Gemignani

Capo's by Tony Gemignani is a popular restaurant renowned for its authentic Italian food and deep dish pizza. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a wonderful dining experience. The lively atmosphere is inviting, and the cozy indoor setting adds to the charm. The menu offers generous portions, featuring highlights like garlic bread with mozzarella, meat lasagne, and rigatoni alla vodka with smoked pancetta. The deep dish pizzas receive praise for their rich tomato sauce, layers of cheese, and quality sausages. Many diners appreciate the gluten-free options available. The service is excellent, with staff ensuring that diners have what they need without being pushy. The cracker-thin Bootlegger pizza is a star, and the "Sam Giancana" is better than Home Run Inn. The Old Chicago Deep Dish has the best crust, with creamy, comforting, and hearty meatballs and red sauce mixed with ricotta. The thin crust tavern style pizza is crispy, thin, nice, light, tasty, and crispy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it was great to meet Tony. Capo's is a must eat spot for deep dish and if you are in North Beach.

We arrived at Capo’s around 7:20 pm on a Saturday and were told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table.
As hungry travelers, we said thank you and as we were about to leave, the hostess finds a nook and sat us down outside. I appreciate the fact that she did us that favor.
There were no patio heaters, so if sitting outside or walking in during busy hours, expect to dine outside in the cold with no heat (during winter).

Had good pizza and salad here
My vanilla Italian soda just tasted like soda water unfortunately. And with the front door open all night it was freezing cold for our meal. Besides that it was a nice dining experience.
Oh, most of the pizzas are very meat friendly, just a heads up to you veggie lovers out there.

Parking: Limited to none street parking.
Great atmosphere -brick walls, big red booths
